Farewell

.:Luna POV:.

    As I approached Connor, something in me is roiling. Connor has been with me since we're kiddo. Now that I'm leaving him for a dangerous journey ahead, I felt, like I'm gonna missed him so badly. I may not be able to make it back. And if I don't, what will I want Connor to know? I pulled my heavy steps as if nothing is bothering me. "Something's bothering you, what is it?" Connor certain he's right. He knew me, he can tell when something's off. I wanted to tell him everything, we've never had secrets before. But this time, the lump in my throat blocked out my courage to tell him. I don't want anyone else to get involve. I can't lose another person that I cared anymore. I wouldn't be able to handle it. "Nothing," I brush him off with a smile. 

    We rode to school together, I tried to keep it lively with various topic I can come up with. Suddenly I felt like we're running out of time, to chit chat. Those days I took for granted has now made its declaration that I've been really selfish. I've took granted for those time we spent and now that we are about to be parted, I'm a little reluctant. But I've got to do what I need to do. If I don't go, my parents, Peter, their death will be in vain and truth forever buried, justice un-served. I don't know who this sovereign they're talking about or what he is. But as long as I'm here, I'll find way to stop him and I will. I shall have my retribution for Peter.

    As we rode on, I saw the hotdog stand that Connor favor the most beside the street, I screech to stop. Connor stop too, "What's wrong?" I smiled mischievously at him, "Why not we be a little adventurous today?" Connor is taken aback by my suggestion, he never would have expected I took his role today. "Look, I'm sorry I have to leave early on that funerary event that day, my mum need me to fetch her to doctor. So I-" I put my finger on his lips, gave him a gentle gaze "I know, appreciate her, Connor. Atleast, when she's still with you." Connor confused by reaction but quickly regain his composure again. 

    As if he wanted to comfort me, he gleefully said, "I'm no half ass rookie, if we're skipping class, we're skipping the whole of it! What do you say?" He give me his brightest smile. "First stop, Hotdog stand!" I pump my fist into the air. We spend our day riding all over the town, visiting our childhood circus, laughing and giggling away at the beach. It was eventful, as the evening falls, my heart slump at the thought of leaving Connor. 15 years, we've never been apart before. "Well, today mark the first of our rebellious adventure!" Connor is happy like child. 

    "Phew, what a day! When are we going to do this again?" Connor gleamed at me. "Eager to fail your grades?" I gave a teasing smirk. "Genius like me was never meant to be locked up in school anyway!" Connor took a stone and flung it into the ocean. "Sadly to say, today's the first and last. Make sure you don't skip classes when I'm not around," I tapped lightly on his shoulder. "Whut? Since when you were not around? I'll follow wherever you are, I transferred to this school remember?" I laugh at Connor's remark, "Yeah, real brother you are." 

    I softly sigh, "Connor, there's bound to be a day when I'm not by your side. If that day ever happens, I want you to take care, be the happy silly humorous boy you are." Connor squinted his eyes at me, I gulped, "You're being extra today, what's all this you being not around?"  I chuckled, "Summer holiday is coming! I don't want to see a different Connor when we're back to school! Right, And don't you ever, ever, try changing yourself for anybody else again, especially Janice! You're goofy good just the way you are." I elbowed him hard. 

    "No-way," Connor gasps at me acting disbelief, "You're not jealous are you? Have you suddenly realized that you fell for the charming side of me?" Connor flexing his muscle and swiping his hair around jokingly. I laugh hitting him in the chest. We both laughed. "Hah, what a day! Summer holiday's starting tomorrow!" He shouted at the sea. I gaze at Connor who seem endorsed by the evening sight. I tried imprinting his look into my mind, because I don't know If I'll ever see him again after this. Suddenly, I felt a tinge of sourness in my chest, so I lean forward, giving Connor a hug like we'll never be hugging again. Connor is surprised, "Whoa, gurl, seriously what are you up to today?" 

    Face buried in his chest I sucked a breath and said, "Send my regards to you mum too. I'll miss you this summer." Connor return my hug warmly, "I don't know what's up with you, but we'll meet after the holiday. I'm only away to my mum's hometown on this holiday. It's not like I'm going away forever, chill."

"I might be," I muttered softly in his chest but Connor didn't hear it.

    Connor sent me home when night falls. "Yo, see you after holiday!" I smiled back, holding back my sourness, "Farewell, Connor. Its been awesome having you in my life." Connor rode on his bike, gave me a backward wave, shouted, "Don't miss me too much!" I took a last glimpse at him and turn around to see George is there ready to go. Before long the familiar car pulled up in front of my car porch. The window rolled down, Elena greeted us, "Good evening, are you ready?" I answer with resolute determination, "Ready as you are." George and I went with Elena.

.:Author POV:.

    We all gathered in Nolan's study room, with all standing around the desk the briefing starts. "Luna is not a permitted human to enter Cathopia. So, we'll have to be careful of not letting the guard knows," as Nolan speak, Elena puts a few sets of disguise by the side of the desk. "So, Luna will have to go by disguise," George manage to assumed what Nolan's intention is.

    "When entering, the guards will break the crowd of people into individual that are almost 2 miles apart of each other," Nolan says pointing to the map he have laid out on the desk. "That's too much of a risk, 2 miles alone? I can't let Luna be!" George expressed his concern. But Nolan calmly suggested, "Which is why, I'll be in my cat form pretending to be sick in Luna's arm."They'll allow that, if Luna tells them that I needed assistance." 

    "Let's hope I don't blew it," Luna said awkwardly rubbing her elbow. Nolan places his hand on her shoulder,"No worries, I'll have you covered." Elena walks in again with a trolley of bags. "I've had Elena prepared us with what we might need. It'll be quite some distance before we reach Mr. Quez, who will provide us an accommodation." Nolan handed out each of the backpacks to everyone of us. 

    "Luna, Because you're not cathonion, I've invented a few things that can help you blend in with us. One, wear this cat ears at all times. If we're separate by any means, it'll be your tracker. It can also work as your disguise." Luna eyed suspiciously at the cat ears before putting it on both side of her head, "It fits perfectly! It held firmly but comfortably on my head!" Luna jumps and swing her herself to test if its falling off, but it held on steadily. 

    "Second, keep the pendant close, its supposedly your power to fight, tho you have not found yours yet." Luna wore the pendant as necklace on herself. 

    "Thirdly, never ever let them find out who you really are, be on your disguise at all times." Luna still fascinated by her new ears,"I'll keep that in mind. That's all?"

    "We'll pick up bits and piece as we go. The first thing we'll need to do when in Cathonion is to hunt Mewdonis," Hearing what Nolan said George is slightly surprised, "But she is great at hiding! No one has ever found her." Nolan turned to George, "That's why I said hunt, she might know how to releases Luna's power."

        Once they've gotten equipped, Elena escorted all of them, to that fancy door that has the delicate Purrantheas decoration on it. When tho clock strikes 12 midnight, the full moon is cleared from the clouds. Its light passed through and shone on the door. The door as if absorbing the Moonlight, the patterns radiates shining glow and the door slowly faded away revealing a passage that seems to have no end ahead. "Once we stepped in, there's no turning back," Nolan said as if to warned Luna. "I have no such intention," Luna answer in resolute, took her first step in followed by George and Nolan.
