Greg had not been released as he had expected, but was being held by Al Bruce for further questioning with regard to his activities during the hours that preceded the murders. He was no longer being held as a suspect but as a witness, as Al was at pains to fit together as many pieces as he could of the jigsaw of the hours before the shootings.
He had already sent Doug to talk with Ethan Ward and Marcel to question Chas Poole, but their stories and Greg's remained the same as before. Whoever had committed the killings seemed to have done so unseen and appeared to have committed the perfect murder. But Al would not give up. He and Gary had grilled Greg twice in the last four hours.
