22 Earl Gooder thundered down the state highway towards Hunter's Creek. He was returning from a long haul into Alberta, but had stopped off in a little town fifty miles south of the Canadian border where he had deposited Bonnie and Kathleen on his way north. The ladies had spent their time negotiating a deal on a delightful little property with an enormous backyard that they had spotted for sale on the Internet. Bonnie wished to move from Hunters Creek as it held too many painful memories and she wanted to share her home with her mother, who was finding life difficult on her own.
