Chapter Seven: Confrontation

982 Words
Two years passed and Lilly was a few days away from celebrating her eighteenth birthday, and in those two years she had spent a lot of time getting to know Aiden, even with her father constantly having Damian over for dinner. It had become a once a week occurrence and although Lilly was starting to enjoy Damian's company, what she knew kept her from wanting him. At least for a while. As she grew older so did her feelings for Damian and Aiden. She was conflicted, but she knew it was finally time, she made up her mind and gathered her courage to do what was needed... Damian sat in his office at home trying to keep his mind off Lilly. Having to spend the evening with her and her family did not help that, especially with her father dropping hints that if he found the right suitor, he would marry her off at seventeen. Lilly made it clear she was not happy with that idea, especially when she stormed out of the room and slammed her bedroom door. Damian had left not long after that, after her father apologized for her behavior. Just as Damian was getting deep in thought he heard his doorbell, he let out a sigh, ran his fingers through his long black hair and went to answer the door. Lo and behold there stood Lilly. There was something in her eyes that made him think she knew something. “Lilly what are you doing here? I wasn't expecting you.” Damian asks with a smile. Lilly kept her expression serious, “I need to speak with you, it's important.” Damian nodded and then stepped away from the door letting her come inside. He escorted her to the living room and they both sat down. “Do you want something to drink?” He asks, for some reason he was feeling nervous. He couldn't explain it. The way she was looking at him, there was something off about it. Lilly shook her head, “No thanks.” “So, what do you need to talk to me about Lilly?” Damian asks her. “I finally figured it out, it took me awhile but I finally got it.” Lilly says looking at him. “What have you figured out.” Damian asks his voice full of confusion. She couldn't have gotten her memory back it was too soon, or so he thought. “I figured out why you are so familiar to me, but of course you already know why, don't you Radames?” Lilly says. Damian looked at her for a long moment, 'did she just call me Radames,' he thinks to himself. “Aww cat got you tongue, or should I say panther. By the way now that I think about it where is Ankh at anyways. He has to be with you, at least he has been the last three times I've been brought back to life.” Lilly says looking around the room. Damian is shocked but finally speaks, “So you remember everything? Who you are, what we are?” Lilly looks at him, “And what are we exactly? Because the last time I checked, you were a lying fool that couldn't have the decency to just be honest with me and tell me the entire truth about what I would be getting myself into?” Damian could tell she was getting fired up, “Lilly, Bastet, I know, I know you're angry at me about that. And I get it, but I can’t change the past of what happened. All I can do is change the future.” “That's right you can change the future, and what I want from you right now, is to know exactly what I have to do to become immortal. I want every tiny detail down to what words I have to say. You owe me that much. Because I am sick and tired of dying awful deaths just to live and do it all over again.” Lilly says firmly. Damian thinks for a few moments then lets out a sigh, “I had a feeling you would be asking me for that.” He gets up and goes into his office, he grabs a hidden paper from his desk and then returns handing it to Lilly. “This is everything you need to know about becoming immortal. I never wanted you to die Bastet, I love you. All I’ve ever wanted was to spend eternity with you. And now I guess it’s my turn to confess something and tell you the whole truth.” Damian tells her. Lilly was not expecting this, she wasn't expecting there to be more that she didn't know. “What do you mean by the whole truth Damian?” She asks. He sits next to her and takes her hands in his. “I could have given you half of my immortality, we wouldn't get to spend eternity together but we would have thousands of years together. I could have prevented your deaths, all of them if I hadn't of been selfish enough to want you forever. I didn't stop and think about how much all of this has affected you. All I wanted was to be with you forever, it was selfish of me.” He tells her. It takes a few moments for what he said to sink in and when it does, Lilly loses it. She stands up and with tears streaming down her face she runs, she runs out of the house and into the woods, and she keeps running until she reaches the coven's safehouse. She runs inside and falls to the floor sobbing... It is then she makes her decision, Damian would not get her heart this time. This time she would give it to someone else who deserved it...
