Gu Junxiu looked at the man in front of her with pure shock. Her ears were buzzing from what she had just heard him say. He on the other hand sat there unaffected by her reaction. She slapped herself to see if she was dreaming but opened her eyes to the same reality. She was still Gu Junxiu and they were still under the tree where confessed to being the Lord of the continent.

She took a deep breath of fresh air and tried to calm her panicking nerves. "What was that I didn't hear you properly?" she asked hoping he would take his words back and say that he was joking.

"I am not of the habit of repeating myself. If you heard what I said good and if not then that is your problem, not mine. I must say you do look a little lady like today. It seems you figured out your gender after all," he said and vanished.

Gu Junxiu's brain was having problems processing everything, her mind was in chaos. She was completely lost on what to do or say. The man she was in the likes and the one she feared was the same. She couldn't believe it, she put the thought at the back of her mind and decided to go back to the others.

She got up and turned around and the building was gone. Not just the building but the entire sect was nowhere to be seen. She was in the jungle surrounded by nothing but miles of trees.

"Hello, Lord are you there?" she shouted at the top of her voice. The memory of that night in the jungle still haunted her and she didn't want to be anywhere near those wolves again.

"Hello, is anyone there?" she shouted again but no one replied. Her voice echoed in the forest and caught the attention of the beasts that lived there. She moved towards the source of the voice, unaware of the attention that she was attracting she went ahead and kept screaming for help.

The animals drew near and she kept wasting her energy. She heard footsteps behind her and thought the Lord had come for her. She ran towards the noise with joy only to be met by wild animals that were three times the normal size that she was used to. She was very scared, it was just one but many different animals.

"Ting ting, help me," she screamed in her mind but unlike every day that he replied to her in just moments today was different.

She got to her feet and started running away from them. She was not ready to die in this place, if she was going to die then she will do it in the twenty-first century. She ran with all her might but they kept up with her.

"I have to think of something else to save myself," she said and kept running. She ran around climbed on top of a tree to rest. She took two calming breaths before she jumped down when the animals began to climb the tree. She was growing tired of running around and stopped.

She stopped and faced the animals with a brave front. She waited for them to get close, she understood that there was only one way things could go. She could keep running and eventually die by the hands or accept her fate and die faster.

When they got close she closed her eyes to accept her death. A light engulfed her and she was wrapped in a protective shield. A sword appeared out of thin air in front of her, she opened her eyes. She reached her hand out to the sword and it came to her.

"For showing bravery on today's challenge you have unlocked the Undefeated sword of the heavens," said the Lord. He snapped his fingers and the illusion disappeared. "This test was to see whether you are brave enough to face your problem. Stupid to choose death over life but I will take what I get knowing that you are new around here," he said taking a sip of his tea.

"You can join the others once the sword listens to you. The sword will obey you if you command it but only if it sees you worthy."

Gu Junxiu went to leave but the sword stopped her and before she knew it, it was attacking her. She moved away before it could kill her, she was kept at her feet. She bounced to the sky and rolled on the ground to escape that sword. No matter what she did the sword kept charging at her nonstop and making her fight.

She picked up a rod and defended herself from the sword. She had never fought before but her instincts told her what to do. She fought with all of her might and her Qi powered her body. Her body was getting stronger with every strike she made. Her strikes were becoming stronger, fierce, and even more aggressive.

The Qi in her body spread to every part of her body and made her strong. She leaped to the sky and did three backflips to evade the sword's attack. Her movements were becoming more fluent and easy and it looked like she was dancing with the sword and not fighting for her life. Her body agility became more refined with every movement.

Training with the sword was a secret leveling technique, she was aware of it but she was cultivating it while she fought. The students were being led away to where they would live from then. They happened to pass by and watched as she fought with the sword. They watched in awe at her graceful movements.

She released some Qi into her rod and kept fighting, she felt good while she fought and felt a little lighter. The Lord observed as the colors around her grew stronger and darker. He could see her Qi and knew that he made the right decision to choose her. Her determination to return to her home was strong and he could feel it. He will use her wish to make her the new Overlord with that she will gain everything she would need in life. With her as the Overlord, he will retire as Overlord Young.
