Test

The students were busy were busy getting ready for there classes when an emegency drill went off making them run out of there houses. They rushed to the assembly, Overlord Young stood at the top of the stage at the assembly. He waited for all the students to arrive.

"Today I have very good news for you. You will all get spirit beast," he said and the new students cheered in happiness. The students who had been at the school longer knew not to rejoice at anything that the Overlord said. The man didn't know the meaning of good news at all.

"You all get a chance to travel to the spiritual realm and capture a beast for yourself and tame it," he added and the cheers died down. Getting a free beast was fun and nice but having to capture a beast by yourself and taming one was a hustle. A student from the new trope raised his hand and was allowed to speak.

"Master, some of us practise only alchemy. How can we tame beast?" he asked and the older students laughed inder their breaths. They wondered how long it would take the new students to understand that the Overlord simply didn't care. Whether you are strong or weak, alchemy cultivator or beast tamer as long as he gave a task all had to do it. The Overlord ignored the question and went ahead to announce that the arrays have been made that lead to the spirit realm and they needed to be inside the array within the next hour or fail the test.

Gu Junxiu and her friends rushed back to there cabin to get there bags and carried the necessities. She felt very nervous about her first actual test, she had no idea how to tame a beast and didn't want to fail her test. She left the cabin and found Ji woo outside waiting for her.

"Ready to go?" he asked and she nodded.

"But I should warn you, I don't know anything about beast taming," she said embarrassed.

"That is why I sort you out. I am very good at taming beasts, I will help you catch your beast."

"Is that even allowed?"

"As long as you come out with a beast the Overlord won't care how you got it. He is a good teacher but uses terrible methods to teach."

"He is a devil in an angel's body," she whispered but Ji woo was able to hear her.

"What was that?" he asked. "Nothing,"

"Can I ask you something? Is Overlord Young the man you met at the lake?" he asked and Gu Junxiu remembered that she had told him about that. She also remembered the warning the Lord gave her and since the Lord was actually Overlord Young it would be wrong for her to say yes to him.

"No," she replied.

"I see, so are you still going to pursue him?" he raised a question to her out of curiosity.

"I just said that he is not the one then why would you ask me something like that?" she inquired.

"Because it took you more than five minutes to answer me. Which means that you were either thinking a proper way to answer me Ir debating whether to lie or tell me the truth," he stated. "And your answer was short and you sounded unsure of your own reply so I could tell that you are lying," he added.

"Wow, you are good."

"I know now tell me, are you going to pursue your love or not?"

"Not, have you seen the man, he is not just good looking but also very powerful. I would bever be good enough for him," she explained.

"Love doesn't consider all that, you are the one who told me that. Then are you considering all this when you like him. And you should count yourself luck," he confessed and she got confused.

"How am I lucky?" she consulted.

"Simply because you don't have any love rivals going for him. Everyone else is too scared to admit they fancy him. Secondly you are the Lord's disciple as that you have plenty or opportunities to spend time with him alone. You can just pretend that the Lord asked you to approach him for lesson and three he actually remembers your name which Is more than i can say for the rest of us," he said as they arrived at the arrays. Other students had already arrived and were waiting for their turn to enter the array.

'But the Lord and Overlord are the same person and the Lord made it very clear nothing like that can ever happen,' she thought disheartened. Their turn arrived and they entered the array. Gu Junxiu stuck to Ji woo's side for guidance on what to do as to not fail her.

They walked in the forest being careful not to get attacked by any beast. Ji woo was trying to find tracks for smaller beast that might be easier for Gu Junxiu to train with. She was new to this so she couldn't handle tougher and stronger beast.

"Why are so quite?" he asked the sulking girl next to him.

"I just thought about it carefully and there is no way that I can win if i tried to win over the Overlord," she said and he stopped in his tracks and looked at her.

"And why do you think that?"

"He would never look at a girl like me," she stated.

" You shouldn't make up your mind about how your journey will end if you have yet to begin. Try first then let go if you don't succed." he advised. "We are standing in werewolf territory. There is a baby wolf of six years just behind those trees go tame it."

"Wait what? I thought you said you would do it for me?"

"That was to get you to follow me, now before I decide to make you tame something harder, get to work," he said turning into the Lord and shocking the life out of Gu Junxiu. "Tame the wolf and then we can continue talking about gow you v

can comquer this Overlord you fancy," he added and went and sat under a tree and watched her.

"Your test starts now."
