He killed my father.

He tore my pack apart.

And now… the Moon Goddess says he’s my mate.

Alpha Caine Ashford—cruel, unstoppable, untouchable. The world calls him the Blood Alpha.

I call him my curse.

Every brush of his hand makes my wolf kneel. Every glance from him makes my heart betray me.

Every instinct screams to fight him… and every part of me wants to surrender.

When the Blood Moon rises again, fate will decide:

Do I destroy the monster who stole everything from me…

Or love him enough to set the world on fire?

PROLOGUE: The Night Of Blood
The moon hung low and red, heavy and swollen like it had swallowed the sun and bled into the sky. Its light spilled across the forest, painting the world in shades of fire and shadow. I remember staring at it, my small hands trembling, my breath caught somewhere between fear and disbelief. Behind me, my father’s voice cut through the chaos, sharp and urgent. “Lyra… you have to survive,” he whispered, blood streaking his fingers and staining the sleeve of his coat. His eyes, always warm and protective, were wide with a terror I had never seen before. “No matter what happens… don’t forget who you are.” I wanted to ask him what he meant. I wanted to protest, to tell him that I was not afraid. But the scream that tore through the night stole my words before they could form. A sound of pure, raw terror, jagged and unrelenting, echoing from everywhere at once. Smoke and fire clawed at the sky, curling into shapes that should not exist. Shadows moved like living nightmares, stretching and writhing in the crimson light of the Blood Moon. There was no time to think. My pack—my family—fell around me one by one. I watched as the people I had loved, trusted, and called family were ripped from the world in a heartbeat. The ground was slick with blood, warm and sticky beneath my shaking feet, and the air was heavy with the metallic scent of death. And then I saw him. Alpha Caine Ashford. The Blood Alpha. He did not roar, he did not fight. He simply stood there, a pillar of calm in the storm of destruction. His eyes were dark, cold, and unyielding, and for a moment, it was as if time itself had bent to his will. He did not need to move to dominate. Every life around him, every scream, every plea, was meaningless. He decided who would live, who would die, and none could sway him. My father’s last look at me was not reassurance. It was a warning. A plea. A promise wrapped in desperation. I felt it slice through me, leaving a hollow ache in my chest. The wolf inside me stirred for the first time, a low growl rising from deep within my chest. It was terrified yet furious, raw and untamed, a spark of power I had never known. The Blood Moon bathed everything in crimson, highlighting the horror and the beauty of that night—the terror, the chaos, the fire reflecting in Caine’s unblinking eyes. In that instant, I understood: my life had been stolen, my family destroyed, and my fate was no longer mine to command. He had killed my father. He had torn my pack apart. And yet… even then, I could feel it. Some part of me, small but insistent, recognized the fire in him—the same fire that had become my nightmare. Somehow, impossibly, he would also become the obsession I could not escape. I ran, but not for long. Fear and anger coursed through my veins, igniting every nerve, every sinew. I could smell the blood, the smoke, the charred remains of my home. Every step brought the wolf within me closer to the surface, raw claws unsheathed in anticipation, eyes glowing with a fury I could barely control. And then came silence, heavy and suffocating. The screams had ended, the fire had burned itself to ash, but the forest was no refuge. Shadows lingered where bodies had fallen. Smoke clung to my lungs. And through it all, he remained. Watching. Patient. Like a god who had grown bored with the mortal world. I did not understand then that surviving that night was only the beginning. That the bond forming between him and me—silent, inevitable, and dangerous—would define everything I became. That the wolf inside me would awaken not only to protect, but to hunt. That night, under the Blood Moon, I became prey… and predator at the same time. The air smelled of blood and fire. My hands shook. My heart pounded like a war drum. And yet, somewhere beneath the terror, a seed of something unyielding took root. Rage. Power. Survival. I would not forget. I could not. Caine Ashford had taken everything from me. And I would rise from the ashes of that night, a creature forged in blood, bound by vengeance, and burning with the fire of a predator awakened.
