I dashed down the stairs, slamming each door to look for someone... anyone, but it was empty.
The house was empty.
"Alice... Alice?" I shouted and felt a vibration in our bond, but it was faint. She was probably on the other side, separated by the wall.

The shadow rippled and came to life. The body formed when the rippling pool of darkness rose, forming each curve and shape of Areum's body.
