I nodded, finally starting to understand. “Anyone else on the ship who knows more about it?”
Penjani shrugged. “Katherine and Roys. But they don’t understand the details much better than I do. Maybe a couple of the other senior engineers? But I doubt it. It’s one of our HIDB systems.”
I gave her a questioning look.
“Hope It Doesn’t Break. It’s what we call the ancient systems we don’t really know how to put back together.”
“Alright, so how would the saboteur have accessed it?”
“I have no idea. And neither does Katherine. We don’t understand enough about the system to know how someone might have modified it to create the leak it did in the repair bay.”
