Scarlet left Lucas's office so angry. she didn't understand why he was treated her that way. He was always mean to her and talked to her arrogantly.
But Lucas was right. she should mind her business and stop poking her nose everywhere. She tried to ignore everything that had happened and continued with my work. There was a notification on my computer. It was an email from one of our investor companies in Paris. They were inviting Lucas for a meeting tomorrow morning.
She had to consult Lucas first before replying to the mail. She printed the email and went to Maya'sOffice
.
"I need a favor from you," she told her.
"What is it this time scarlet," she said
"I need you to take this email to Lucas I have a lot of work to do I can't go there right now," she told her.
"Are you kidding me, the last time you sent me to him he said he wants you to take the documents yourself? So please just take them." she laughed
Scarlet has always told her how Lucas has been treating her.
Let's see if I'll help you next time," Scarlet told her and left.
"just sort yourself," she said
she had no option so she headed to his office. She knocked at his door's office but he didn't respond. Scarlett opened it slowly and went inside. He was sitting on his desk and it looked like he was deep in thought.
"Good day sir, an email has just arrived from our investor company in Paris. They are inviting you for a meeting tomorrow morning, "Scarlet said
" Just cancel the meeting," he said without even looking at me.
"But sir, " she tried to talk
"There are no buts scarlet, just tell them I can't make it," he said
Scarlet couldn't leave without talking to him about the meeting. If he doesn't go it will mean they will lose the investors and the company will collapse. She didn't want to be blamed for the downfall of the company. She had to try talking to Lucas.
"I know I don't have to make my opinions about the company but I think this meeting is important. if you lose this investor the company will collapse, they are threatening to pull down their investments." Scarlet told him
"What, we are leaving tonight," he said
He gave me all the instructions on what I had to do. I went back to my office picked my purse and told Maya to take me to go do some shopping.
"Hey Maya I need your help," Scarlet said
"Don't tell me you haven't gone to Lucas office," she whispered
"What do you think of me? I want you to take me out shopping we are going to Paris tonight," she explained
"Really, will you buy me some clothes," she asked
"No I can't you refused to help me earlier, we have to leave before Lucas changes her mind," Scarlet giggled
She pulled her hand and they left. Maya has always been there for Scarlet and they had become good friends
"We are here already, am so excited I cant wait to see you wear those beautiful dresses, you will leave people staring," she whispered
"Are you kidding me? she punched her lightly
she pulled up outside the dress shop and they got out. She leads the way and she followed her
" I don't think we can do our shopping here this place looks expensive," Scarlet said scanning the place
"I don't want to get myself into trouble. The bosses instructions were clear." Maya said
"And how do you want me to pay for the shopping I can't afford, let's get out of here," Scarlet said
"you don't have to worry about the expenses, it will be credited to the companies account." Maya tried to convince her
Scarlet was so uncomfortable, she has never been to such a place.
"Fine, but we won't buy a lot of things," scarlet mumbled
"Good evening Grey. have brought someone here today we need some clothes, "Maya told the shop attendant
" Maya it's you, it's been a while you don't pass by here anymore," she said
"I bought a lot of stuff last time," she said
They talked with Maya for some time, Scarlet just stood there and listened to their stories.
They didn't have enough time, so they had to do their shopping hurriedly.
After getting all the stuff she needed Maya dropped her at my apartment.
"You have a beautiful house you should invite me to come over sometime," she told me
"Haha, I will but not today if I allow you to come in I'll be late," Scarlet said
"Stop being mean but it's fine. Take care of yourself. I'll come over once you get back
Have a safe trip " she said and drove.
"Thanks for the ride, " Scarlet shouted
She rushed to the apartment to prepare.
" Good evening mother, am home."
We going on a business trip tonight with Lucas."
She said
"Are you sure about, this I just hope you will be fine," her mother said
"I have to do this mother this is part of my job.
You have to take care of yourself and don't forget to go for your checkup. I'll tell Maya to take you" she told her
" You don't have to worry about me, I am so worried about you," her mother responded
" I'll be fine mother, you don't have to worry.
I have to prepare Lucas will be here soon." Scarlet said as she went to her room to prepare
