CHAPTER 6

Scarlet got home so tired.

"Mother am home is the food ready I am starving."

"yes come over to the kitchen darling, how was your first day at work?"My mother asked

She couldn't tell her about his arrogant boss."It was good mother, everyone was nice to me and they are willing to help."

"That's good. Am happy for you. " her mother said

They had their dinner, She then helped her mother with the dishes, and then she headed to her room

Her phone started ringing. it was her boyfriend calling

"Hello love, how are you, I miss you when are you coming home?" she asked Ace.

"Next weekend, I will be very busy this week, I have to finalize the project I am working on first."Ace responded

Okay, you have to come soon. I'll treat you to dinner in our favorite restaurant and I'll buy the tickets so that we can watch a movie together."

" Okay, scarlet I have to hung up right now am so tired."

"It's okay Ace you should probably rest. I love you."

Even before she could finish talking Ace hunged up. Scarlet started thinking something might be going on. He hasn't been calling her lately or responding to his messages and he seemed distant.

She didn't want that to bother her. She was so tired and all she needed was to rest.

She switched off the lights and dozed off.

Scarlet woke up very early the following morning and went to work. she didn't want to get on the bad side of the CEO.

"Good morning sir, you have a meeting in a few minutes."

He stared at her for some time before thanking her. Scarlet was becoming uncomfortable so she left the office.

"What could be going on, why is he staring at me so much, did I do anything wrong, this isn't the first time he's staring at me so much, " Scarlett wondered

She even thought something might be wrong with her face. She rushed to the washroom to make sure her face was in good shape.

Shortly the meeting started, but Lucas was not at ease. Something must be bothering him.

Scarlet focused on her work and wrote some notes for him, as his assistant that was her work.

After the meeting, he went back to the office and she followed him.

"Can I come in?"

"Yes, "

You don't seem okay is everything okay, "scarlet asked

"It's none of your business Scarlet just leave my office and mind your own business."

"I was just trying to help, "She told him and left the office
