CHAPTER 5

The day went by just well. I couldn't stop thinking of her. Am sure she doesn't like it after what happened a few hours ago.

"What are doing here. The meeting ended 30minutes ago, you should have brought the minutes earlier." He said without looking up. "You should leave I am busy right now."

When he didn't hear the door being closed, he was astonished when he looked up and saw scarlet standing at the door. He felt ashamed of himself. He couldn't apologize.

"I can't apologize I will look weak in front of her. I just have to ignore what happened."I thought to myself

", I didn't know it's you."

Lucas hated that the day came to an end so fast. His parents he'd invited him for dinner and he didn't feel like going. He knew what this was about.

His parents always chose women for him to date. They've always wanted him to date women from their class, people who are rich and famous.

They wanted him to marry soon and settle down, "But I don't think I can do that right now. Marriage requires a lot of commitment and it has a lot of responsibilities. Am not ready for that I just want to enjoy my life."Lucas thought

Lucas was so angry. He just found out that her girlfriend Avely cheated on me with his friend

and he had to break up with her.

He got home and found dinner ready. So we started eating immediately.

"Why did you break up with her, she is an amazing lady." Her mother inquired

"You know what happened. it is all over the media. Everyone knows she cheated on me with my friend's mom, I can't continue dating her."

My father was so angry. He looked at me with a lot of sadness. He was so mad at me I broke up with the daughter of the most important investor in our company.

They ate dinner in silence. After enjoying the dinner Lucas stood up to leave. He couldn't wait to get out of that place.

"Thanks for the dinner mother." he said."I'll be leaving now." he hugged her mother and left.

Just when he was about to open the door his father grabbed his hand and led him to the study room.

"Lucas you are not growing younger you have to make up with Avely, get married, and give us grandkids."

"Are you serious father? Is this about me or the company? She cheated on me and I can't forgive her for that, you are always thinking about the company when will you ever think of your son.

I know you want me to get married to Avely because of our company. Am sorry Dad I can't do that."

He stood up grabbed my car keys and left.

"Get back her son," he called after me

Lucas ignored him and walked away. He wasn't ready for drama tonight. He got into the car put on some loud music to help him cool down and drove away.

"What a bad day to end a beautiful day, "he said
