Werewolves were once thought to be mere legends—creatures capable of transforming between human and wolf form. They are proud beings who believe strength is everything. However, there is one thing they revere above all: the Moon Goddess. Her blessing grants them power, a mate, and a Luna—someone destined to be the queen of their pack. There exists a human clan devoted to the Moon Goddess, and as a reward for their unwavering loyalty, she blesses them in every generation with a Luna, born from among them. But this time… something changed.Twins were born under the Moon Goddess' blessing: Elara and Eden. As the elders say, there can never be two queens.Only one of the twins bore the mark of a Luna—Elara, the younger sister. On one hand, Eden, the elder, was treated as a mistake. The elders regarded her with scrutinizing eyes, while the younger ones whispered behind her back, calling her an abomination, a curse—someone who was never meant to exist. To escape their judgment, Eden often wandered to the northern side of the forest, where a lake shimmered under the moonlight. There, she would beg the Moon Goddess for answers. But the still waters remained silent, reflecting a painful truth: she had been abandoned.Maybe the others were right.Maybe… she should never have been born. She pulled out the knife she always carried for protection and pressed it to her throat. Dying here felt easier than continuing in misery. That's what she thought , but couldn't do so, when—The forest stirred. The trees danced with a sudden wind, the lake churned wildly, and the moon shone so brightly it was blinding. Then, she felt a presence.Turning her head toward the left side of the forest, she saw it: a majestic silver wolf, massive and awe-inspiring, its fur shimmering like moonlight and its ruby-red eyes glowing with a powerful, ancient light. It was an encounter that should never have happened.A fated meeting that defied all rules. The most cruel lunar encounter, both for him and her.For the King of the Werewolves had seen her first—And she… who was not the one chosen for him.

Chapter 1
Eden’s POV I never wanted to doubt my existence. But every time I told myself that there's a reason for everything, others would always make me question that belief. I never wished to be chosen. Perhaps what I truly wanted was a normal life—one where I could live happily. A life where there were people thankful I was born. Maybe I should’ve pleaded for it. Maybe, just maybe, the Moon Goddess could’ve granted it. But it can’t be helped now... because I was just a mistake. Someone who shouldn’t have existed. The reason why the most awaited Luna could never be complete. “Lara, would you like to go on a picnic with me?” I asked my younger twin, who was deeply immersed in reading a history book. She looked up at me with soft eyes and smiled slightly. I know that look too well... I guess I’m being rejected once again. “I can’t, Eden. I’m sorry,” she said apologetically. I couldn’t show how disappointed I was, so I smiled to reassure her. “I guess next time will do?” But even that is uncertain. Because for us... perhaps next time will never come. A knock on the door broke the silence between us. A teenage girl named Mira entered. She looked at me first—disdain clear in her eyes. Then she shifted her gaze to my twin. Her demeanor changed completely. She bowed respectfully as soon as their eyes met. The chosen one. The one the Goddess had deemed worthy of becoming the next Luna: my younger twin, Elara. “Lady Elara, the elders are calling for you. They said it’s time for your lessons,” she said, still bowing. “Is that so?” Elara sighed and closed her book. She glanced at me, her expression sad. “Finish your tea, Eden. I must go now,” she said, then dismissed herself along with Mira. I looked at the tea she had brewed. This was the only time I could be with her. Normally, the elders forbade us from meeting. But Elara must have convinced them to let us share even a sliver of the day. What’s so good about being a Luna anyway? I grumbled to myself as I drank the rest of the tea. We’d been told since childhood that our clan is special. Once in a generation, the Moon Goddess blesses us with a Luna—a human gifted with divine power. A destined queen. The fated mate of the Werewolf King. When a blue moon graces the sky, a prophecy descends from the heavens. And twenty years ago, it was foretold that Alana, the priestess of the moon, would bear the child destined to become the next Luna. They say it’s a blessing. But to me... it feels like a curse. A fate decided by birth. And yet, I can't express any dissatisfaction, because our very own existence is meant to serve the Moon Goddess. As I glanced toward the spot where my twin usually sat, I noticed the veil she had left behind. “She must’ve been exhausted to forget this,” I murmured, worried. I decided to bring it to her. I stepped outside, bracing myself for the stares. The looks of disdain, disgust... hatred. Even though I’ve done nothing wrong, even though I merely exist—that alone seems to be enough for them. I could hear people murmuring as I passed. Some even said aloud what others would normally keep to themselves. “If only she wasn’t born,” an old woman said, shaking her head. I couldn’t argue. I was used to it. This wasn’t the first time I’d heard those words... and it wouldn’t be the last. But getting used to it doesn’t make it any less painful. It will always hurt. As I neared the meeting hall where the elders gathered, I could hear raised voices—almost arguing. I pitied my twin for enduring that. If it were me, I’d have run away long ago. Probably not a good idea to disturb them... I’ll just wait until they’re done. “I should bake cookies for Lara next time. I bet she’d love that,” I murmured, smiling to myself. Suddenly, a thunderous bang echoed through the building. The chatter stopped. Silence filled the room. “Elara, did you do your duty today?” a cold, commanding voice asked. It belonged to the Grand Elder. His tone was sharp, laced with authority and pressure. Lying to him would be impossible. “Yes, Grand Elder,” Lara’s voice responded—cold and unfamiliar. A tone I never heard her utter in front of me. “I was informed that you leisurely spent your time with... that thing,” he said, venom dripping from his words. That thing. He meant me. Like I wasn't human. Just a stain in their perfect prophecy. Not even Eden - not a daughter nor a sister - just a thing that is considered a mistake. How could they easily erase my name and my entire existence, with mere two words? If only I could scream. If only I could cry my heart out. But instead, I stood there... silent. 'It's okay, I have Lara.' I thought the storm inside me would calmed down but- “Yet... why is it still breathing?” he asked, his voice full of spite. What—what does he mean? What’s happening? I wanted to slam the door open and demand an explanation, but then I heard her reply. “It’s probably because she’s my other half. That kind of potion isn’t strong enough to kill her,” she said coldly, without a trace of hesitation. And just like that, the fragile thread that bound us... snapped. I thought I could endure anything—as long as I had her, as long as we could be together. I thought I could bear the hatred of the world. But— My twin. My only ally in this damned world. My kind Lara... Wanted me dead.
