Episode 1
The smell of antiseptic burned Aria’s lungs. Bright surgical light blinded her as pain ripped through her body. Sweat soaked her hair, clinging to her pale face as her fingers dug helplessly into the hospital sheets.
“Push, Mrs. Sterling! Push!”
The doctor’s voice sounded distant, almost drowned by the roaring in her ears.
“I… I can’t…” Aria cried out, her body trembling violently.
Another contraction struck without mercy. It felt as if her bones were splitting apart.
The heart monitor beside her began to change.
Beep…Beep…Beep…The rhythm faltered.
A nurse stiffened. “Doctor… the baby’s heartbeat is dropping.”
The doctor’s expression immediately turned grave.
“Damn it.”He pulled off his gloves and looked at the team. “Keep her stable.”
Then he rushed out of the operating room.
Aria’s heart pounded wildly. Something was gravely wrong.
Her blurry gaze drifted toward the slightly opened doors of the operating theater.
And through them…She heard everything.
The hospital corridor outside was silent, heavy with tension.
Zander Sterling, Aria’s husband stood tall beside the wall, his expensive black suit perfectly pressed, his expression cold and unreadable.
At only thirty, Zander was already one of the most powerful billionaires in the city. And the man Aria loved.
Beside him stood his mother, Margaret Sterling, draped in diamonds and impatience, and his younger sister Clara, who nervously tapped her high heels against the floor.
The doctor approached them quickly.
“Mr. Sterling, we have a problem.”
Margaret immediately stepped forward. “How is my grandson?”
The doctor hesitated at the word.
“Your wife is experiencing severe complications. Both her life and the baby’s life are in danger.”
“What does that mean?” Clara’s eyes widened in happy anticipation.
The doctor swallowed. “If we try to save your sister in law first, the baby may not survive.”
“And if we save the baby first…” Margaret gasped softly. The doctor’s voice lowered. “Your daughter in law may die.”
The corridor fell into a suffocating silence.. The doctor turned to Zander.
“I need you to make a decision.Whose life should I prioritize?”
Inside the operating room, Aria’s breathing stopped.
Every word carried through the half-open door like a blade slicing into her chest.
Her heart trembled violently.
Zander would choose her. He had to.
Six years of marriage.
Six years of loving him with everything she had.
Six years of believing that somewhere beneath his cold exterior… there was a man who cared for her.
Her tears slipped silently into her hair.
Please Zander.
Please choose me.
Zander didn’t hesitate. “Save the baby.” He gave the order.
The words fell cold and sharp. The doctor froze.
“Mr. Sterling… your wife could die.”
Zander’s gaze remained emotionless. “I said save the baby.”
Margaret released a relieved breath. “Of course. The Sterling heir must survive. You heard my son doctor, do as he says.”
Clara nodded quickly. “Yes. The family bloodline is more important.”
The doctor stared at them in disbelief. “You’re asking me to sacrifice your wife.”
Zander’s eyes hardened. “Do your job.”
Inside the operating room, something inside Aria’ shattered.
The last fragile piece of hope she had clung to for six years broke into dust. Tears streamed silently down her face.
So this was the truth. To her husband… She was nothing more than a tool.
A womb to carry his heir. Her fingers slowly tightened around the sheets.
No. If she died today, she would die for a man who never loved her.Aria’s chest rose sharply.
A fierce light ignited in her tear-filled eyes. “I won’t die.” Her voice was hoarse but firm.
The doctor turned in surprise. Aria forced herself to look at him.
“Doctor… help me deliver this baby.”
Her breathing trembled violently.
“But I’m not dying today.” The room went silent.
The doctor stared at the fragile woman on the bed whose eyes suddenly burned with terrifying determination.
Something stirred in his chest.
“Prepare for emergency delivery,” he ordered suddenly.
A nurse gasped. “Doctor, but the husband—” “I said prepare!”
The team immediately moved.
“Push, Mrs. Sterling!”
Aria screamed as another wave of pain tore through her body.
Her fingers gripped the sheets so tightly her knuckles turned white. “I can do this…”
“Puuuush!”Pain exploded through her body as she pushed with everything she had left.
Seconds stretched endlessly.
Then suddenly—
A loud cry pierced the room. A baby’s cry. Strong. Alive.
A nurse looked down and smiled with surprise. “It’s a boy!”
Aria collapsed weakly against the bed, tears sliding down her temples.
“I… survived…”
The doctor let out a quiet breath of relief.
“Yes, you did.”

After cleaning, the nurse carried the newborn out. Lady Margaret rushed forward immediately.
“My grandchild!” The nurse hesitated before speaking. “It’s a girl.”
“A girl?” Margaret’s excitement faltered for a brief second.
Clara shrugged dismissively. “Well… at least she’s alive.”
Zander barely glanced at the child.
“Is she healthy?”He asked with indifference.
“Yes.” The nurse answered.
“Then I guess we are done here. We should inform the rest of the family.” Margaret took the baby into her arms. And they left the hospital.
Not one of them asked about Aria.
