Chapter 1
"Kat, Kat, freaking get up, lazy girl." My sister yelled, well, I don't think yelled is a good word for it. I think demon screeched in my ear. Yeah, she screeched and the devil called to say he wants his child back.
I wiggled out of bed and fell on top over my sister's doll. Shoot, I thought to myself. These dolls could kill someone. I laugh at my crazy thought and got up.
"Meagan! Where are my jeans?" I ask my sister and... she runs down stair. Not again, I hate wearing dresses and those jeans are the only clean ones I have. Sighing, I grab a black dress from the floor and throw it on. "You're going to pay for this." I yell, loud enough for her to hear me. It didn't take long for her to squeal in reply.
"Knock, knock." I open the curtains to my best friend. His blue eyes and blue hair shines brightly with the sunshine. I lock the window so he can't get in. I watch my friend trying to climb in my bedroom. It's not working really well for him. After all of this time, he still hasn't caught on that I'm going to do this every single time he comes over. That's just part of the Jace Michaels package.
Jace Michaels, the guy everyone wants to be friends with. He can make anything fun and loves breaking the rules. With him, all rules are gone and no one will try to stand against him. Everyone will try being nice around him but I don't. The reason I am friends with him is because we can be ourselves around each other. We grew up like this. He was the popular boy and I was the one he always wanted by his side. I am known as the shy girl but if that is only when he is not with me. When he is gone, I have nothing to talk about.
"Open the dang window!" he yelled while holding onto a tree branch.
I laugh and open up the window. He crawls inside, falling on the floor. "I hate doing that."
"Why do you do it then? We have a front door." I took a seat on my bed. J turned towards me and jumped on top of me.
He pinned me down on the bed and sat on my stomach. "What are you doing, J?" He look into my eyes.
"What I should have done five years ago." He leans in closer and closer until...
"Kat! Listen to me and stop daydreaming!" J said. I took a step away from him but he pulled me into a tight hug.
"Nope, you're not leaving me." He laughed and I push him off of me.
"Don't make me hurt you." I said and he was rotating his wrist.
"You already have." I laughed and started walking out into the bathroom
"Yeah right, I totally did!" I said sarcastically with an eye roll. I let go of him and walk into the bathroom. I pull my long red hair into a ponytail and quickly put on my eyeliner, mascara, and lipstick.
"Hey J, pass me my glasses, please." He looks into my dark brown eyes. His eyes never leaving mine. He leans in towards me while holding onto my glasses. I try to grab them out of his hands but he pulls them away from me. "Come on, just give me the glasses!"
I tried to reach for them but never could quite get it out of his hands. "If you want it then do something for me."
"C'mon, just give it back or tell me what you want." I jump up trying to reach my beloved glasses.
"You can give me a kiss..." He winks and I stop in my tracks.
"What the hell!" I push him away from me and finally manage to grab my glasses. I put my glasses on and straight out my dress. My eyes meet his before I open the door to head downstairs. "Meet me by the front door in twenty minutes, ok?"
"Ok, princess." I turn around to see him climbing out the window before I could reply. I sigh and close my bedroom door behind me.
"Hey, mom. You look lovely today. Dad get a room!" I gave my mom a hug and wiped her tears while she watch her husband make-out with another random girl.
The girl pulled away from my dad and they looked at me. "You're such a cutie, wanna have some fun?" She walked over to me leaving my dad sitting there in confusion.
She leads into me but I stopped her. "Sorry, honey but I'm going to past." I grab her arm and twisted it behind her back. I kept going further and further until I heard a cracking. She tries to scream but she started choking on her tears before she could even get it out.
I flipped her on top the table and I gagged her. Tying her hands and feet as tight as I could. I was about to head upstairs when I turn back to the girl. "Who am I to not finish the job? Get the children away from here I don't want them to hear or see this."
You know, this is always my favorite part of the day.
This is wrong, Justin.
That's what makes it so much fun!
I shake my head and ignore the voices in my head. My mom nods her head and run outside. I grab the closest knife and jump on top the table next to the girl. "I am sorry to do this but I said I have to do this if he picks up more girls like you. I would let you go but you have trouble written all over you."
I ungag her so I can hear her speak her last words. "I'm sorry, I didn't know. I wouldn't be here if it was for my friend setting me up. I didn't know he was your father, Katelin. I-"
"Hold up." I jump off the table to look at her better. "How do you know my name?" She stared at me shocked and started crying even more.
"I'm going to die." She repeated it over and over until i gag her again and she stopped.
"Z sent you here, didn't he?" She nods and I start to let her go.
"Come with me."
