Just Tonight (Book 1)

Chapter 9

(Regina) 

No it can't be please no (holding her head in her hands) Regina runs out of the hospital she can't deal with this she just killed her best friends daughter oh god no how could this be happening as she got out of the hospital realising she had no car she decided to walk home it wasn't too far she cried all the way home god why me she thought and to kill someone so young not that it mattered what age she was a person is a person but she couldn't believe it as she got home she went in and locked the door her phone started to ring it was Mary probably calling her to scream at her for killing her baby no she couldn't listen to that although she deserves it, after all, she did she was the reason Mary list her daughter and in such a horrible way she couldn't deal with that right now she turned her phone off and ran up to her room crying screaming breaking things she killed someone her the mayor of all things to do she took a young girls life a young soldier at that god she needed a drink, going downstairs to her office she got her whisky filling the class and downing it filling it up, again and again, trying to ease the pain she felt, this banging in her head didn't help either she just wanted it to stop but it got louder and louder so she drank this way all night till she count stand and everything went black.

(At the hospital)

The doctor walks up to Mary and David "Mr & Mrs Nolan I'm Dr Whale Emma has had to have surgery as she was bleeding internally and we have had to put her in a medically induced coma (Mary screams while David holds her) oh please don't worry she will be fine I'm sure she will be in a lot of pain when she wakes up she broke her right leg in 3 places and her left arm and 3 ribs she is very lucky to be alive we found an older wound that was internally infected the we had to reopen to see what was causing the infection and it seems that when they were taking out the bullets from Emma's shoulder they missed a piece but luckily she got here and we got to it or god only knows what would have happened if we didn't get to her on time" "oh my god Emma was shot oh David why didnt she tell us my poor baby" " I don't know honey maybe she was trying not to scare us" Mary looks back at the Dr "so what are you saying what she's lucky my best friend run her over with her car?!" "in a way yes she could have died if we didn't find that bit of bullet to be honest she kind of saved her life" "oh god" Mary cried more looking around to find Regina but she was gone " oh no David what have I done all those things I said to Regina" "shhhh love I'm sure she will understand when you speak to her" looking at Dr Mary asks " can we see her?" "yes of course she's just down the hall room 701 I'm sorry but I need to tend to my other patients" walks away "thank you dr" then Mary looks at David "I'm just going try to to to to call Regina real quick" the phone just rang out then went straight to voicemail she then walks to emmas room her beautiful daughter laying there she looked so small Mary walked over to her bed kissing her forehead tears streaming down her face she was so happy her daughter was going to live.

(later) 

Mary and David left the hospital and made their way to Regina's house knocking on the door and calling out to her Mary knew she was home the lights were on she kept knocking but Regina wouldn't open up so she left feeling bad she couldn't talk to her best friend.

(the next morning)

Regina woke up on her floor of her office her head pounding throat sore body aching she got up and made her way to the couch trying to remember last night then it hit her Emma the car accident the hospital Mary shouting at her to leave she felt her eyes well up again she got up and took two tablets and then went and had a shower sitting down on her bed trying to gather herself and prepare to go and see Mary and try get her to talk to her be there for her if she would let her but the more she thought about it the more she felt herself become too afraid to leave her room let alone her house she just lost the only true friend she has ever know she is a murderer why would Mary talk to her she killed her only daughter she will hate her for the rest of her life no she couldn't face that it would crush her as usual she was by herself all alone she laid back down on the bed and pulled the covers over her head and sobbed.

(Hours Later) 

Bang bang bang Regina was startled awake what the hell Bang bang bang bang who the hell was banging on her door Regina got up and looked out the window it was Mary no no no she couldn't answer her and face her wrath of fury no she decided to pretend she simply wasn't home and went to the bathroom turned on the water for a bath she sat there just staring at the water crying her stomach turned her heart ached she couldn't live like this everything she worked hard to achieve she has lost anyone she ever cared about she always lost or they left what was there for her in this life anymore as she took the razor off the side and pushed it across her skin she felt release of pain she cried and cried as she felt herself laying down her world becoming dark again as she fell under the water.............
