Nowadays

Today is my birthday I am turning 26. My life changed in these 5 years, I graduate in business at first, I got a job, I have my company, but I want to learn, how to handle companies' problems. My dad wanted to join after college, but I denied it because I don’t want to treat like companies' owner daughter, I want my employee to consider me as a colleague, not the boss, so I chose another company to get a job, I worked as an HR at Global industries for 1 year then I joined my dad’s business. It’s been 4 years since I joined my business, getting so much progress in only a few amount times but still, I feel something is missing like some part of my life is still empty, I still think about him his face, his eyes, his hands, the way he stares at me, touched me whenever he touched me, I felt like heaven miss him. I am waiting for him for 5-years I tried to date lots of boys, but it was not worth it. 6 months ago, my friend Anna set up a date for me first I don’t want to go, but she convinced me to go. I went saw a handsome, tall man wearing a denim jacket white T-shirt and white sneakers waiting for me, he saw me smiled at me said that "hello you are Veronica,” I said "yes and you Dean,” we shake our hand he pulled my chair like gentlemen, I sat we talked he is so normal boy, he didn’t try to flirt with me and I get comfortable easily with him. I liked him; we went on 2 more dates than he proposed to me I say yes. My parents also liked him because he can easily talk to an elder person who did not get uncomfortable, he is a confident person, a leader a personality, he is an architect. I am happy now but still; I don’t feel myself someone says accept what life gives you maybe someone doesn’t have these also. I am trying to accept all things in my life, but I felt that is not enough. Furthermore, I work hard for everything whether I want that or not, but I become a workaholic because of this I have to get therapy for 3 months. Moreover, I tried to be myself thank God I have the best family and friends in the world, they are always here for me. At some point, Anna and Izzy live with me, so I don’t work with the help of the now I am ok. Today my dad gone announced me as the CEO of the company l, lots of people are coming investors, employees, businessmen & friends. So, I have to wear a red long gown with the back open, slit at the thigh. Right now, I am in a salon makeup artist doing their job on the face I don’t know what's going on my eyes closed some members doing my hair some face hope so whatever they did do best because it’s my birthday and business meet yeah! Of course, if you listen to talking between businessmen, it is like some conferences are going on, and I don’t want to disappoint my family. They finish my makeup I opened my eyes I can’t believe this is me. They did nude makeup with bright red lipstick and my hair had long curls to my waist, it’s so magical. Likewise, they help in wearing my dress with a diamond bracelet on my hand and a small pendant which gives me Dean at our first month anniversary last not least silver high heels. I got ready and sat in the car arrived at the party venue one hour before, so I can attend to all the guests personally my parents want this because they think it will have a good impression on them. I entered the ballroom I decorated it with white and violet color flowers of orchids on the right side of the corner bar and the left side music band for dance on the center dance floor, food on the roof so people can have some air after the dance. Furthermore, I saw my parents already here they wish me after some time friend came Anna and Izzy. Anna is a fashion designer now, she designed my dress which wore today and Izzy is a lawyer, she handles my company matters. They don’t have a boyfriend sometimes I feel they both are lesbian, because they are always together. Anna said" you look stunning,” I say “thank you also look like a princess whose heart you will take,” she wears blue color With a White combination. Izzy said, “today we will see how many hearts gone a crash” with a chuckle, she wears a black short dress with red bright lipstick, she looks hot. Guest starts coming I welcome them, I talk to some investors, I glimpse of Dean. I go to his side kisses his cheek and hugged him. He smiled at me and kisses me his hand on my waist.

My dad comes to the stage said "ladies and gentlemen, thank you for coming here, today is my daughter’s birthday so let’s enjoy the party.” Song started to play some people dancing Dean said "may I please,” with his hand in front of me with a smile I say ok, he takes me to the dance floor his hand on my waist, me around his neck we are dancing talking he said, “so how you are feeling today??” I said "of course today I will get what I deserve and work hard for this, so I am happy,” he kissed my forehead and hugged me. He took my hand to twirl me then pulled me closer, our foreheads meet each other we stay like this with eyes closed thee said "you look beautiful today I want to kiss you right now, but I hold myself because of people” I smiled and say let sneak out of here we get off the dance floor and go to the balcony where no one is there we kissed and hugged stay for a while there. I am freezing then Dean give me his jacket he looks so sexy in a tuxedo and only shirt with folded sleeves when moon rays hit on his face, he backed hugged me I see the view is very magnificent like someone draws a painting, Dean said “let’s go inside you will catch a cold,” I say “I will, or you're getting cold take your jacket and let’s go, baby.” We go to the ballroom my father take me to meet an investor who is look old have white hair, black tuxedo his face looks similar to someone, but I don’t know who, my father said“ meet Xander pierce he is the most valuable person in the business world you should know about him,” I said“ nice to meet you, sir I am Veronica,” Mr Pierce said“ nice to see you I saw you when you’re 10 years old you grow so fast, you look so gorgeous,” I smiled said“ thanks you should not drink at this age,” he says“ my grandson should attend your party but when I know it’s your birthday I came and when you came to party drink is prohibited,” I chuckled with his talk he also laughed with me. I still don't know how his face looks familiar maybe I met him before that's why. I saw Anna with a boy she is glowing something is going on than they go to the balcony side. Furthermore, I talked to Xander for a while he is talking about his young age how all girls fight for him and I laughed how can at his age someone can be sweet like he is. After some time my father came to the floor and said“ Come here Veronica,” I go by his side he said“ Today I am going to retire and all my responsibility giving my only daughter Veronica,” I said,“ thank you, dad and all people who believe in me and gave me strength to achieve this involved, make me stronger to take responsibility like this thank you all of you who come here involved in my happiness, enjoy the party!” all people clapped some people get jealous also make the type of face who don’t like my success, but I know this from the beginning if you get success some people don’t like it I am trying used to it, still, I don’t understand why people get other success if you want to like them then you should do work hard because no matter how much you will jealous, you cannot have what successful people have. So have patience and work hard and fulfil your dream does not get jealous of others I see My mom, Anna, Izzy and Dean looking at me, my mom is crying with happiness, my friends saying all the best and Dean just smiling at me. I get off the stage goes to my mom I hugged her, and she kisses my cheek says I am proud of you baby and I say thank you, mom now stop crying then meet my friend a both hugged me tightly and said "you did” we laughed. I saw Dean left around. Furthermore, I saw MR. Pierce sitting smiling at me, I go to him I said“ do you need anything Mr Pierce??” he said” don't call me like I get old call me Xander,” I say“ ok Xander,” he says I am so proud of you I wish you can meet my grandson and give him some sense he doesn’t listen to me earlier he called me saying he is coming here, but it’s now one hour I don’t know where he is,” I said“ don’t worry Xander he is not 10 years she can handle himself when he came, call me I will teach him how to respect and listen ok now eat your food don’t drink too much,” I say bet to him and meet some people who came to congratulate me some businessmen secretaries behave like their wife, why people cheat on their partners I am happy with this my partner is nothing like that he is loyal to me whether I can give him a time or not he is always here for me if I am not able to him, he came to my office and was surprised me. He is a loving, caring and supportive person and also helps my mom and dad stuff sometimes I feel he is not my boyfriend their son that's why I get also irritated why he is so nice so anyone can use him easily and my friends take his side always, but I am happy at least he makes people happy around him. After some time, I cut my cake with my parents, my friends and Dean side me. First I feed my parents then my friends and last, not least my boyfriend Dean, then all cake serve to guests after eating the cake I dance with my father then Dean when we dance suddenly all light gets off and the spotlight came on us first I blink my eyes and open see Dean kneeled with the ring in his hand, I was shocked my eyes filled with tears, I cover my face with my hands Dean say ‘ Veronica, I love you when you can into my life it was like the bright light of hope for me, you make me happy, you accept me as for me, I don’t have to change for you, with you, I feel like I am living again, I will, not stretch will you be my wife forever??” I am crying with so much happiness in one day it’s like all my wishes come true, I always wanted my family with lots of children I was alone in my child I don’t want that with my children so yeah, I said "yes, I will marry you thank you for giving me this gift today,” he put the ring in my finger kissed me on the lips I too kissed him back and hug him. My parents came to us congratulate us and Izzy came to hug us tease Dean said“ now I can call you brother-in-law,” Dean said ‘no I am still your boyfriend' teasing her she makes the face I laughed at her face, she pinched my side it hurt I stopped then she goes to I don't know where I saw Anna coming with Alex I was not aware he is coming because after college, I lost contact with him, I don’t try to find him because of Lucas he reminds me of him I know, he knows where Lucas was, but he didn’t tell me don't why. They came to me, Anna hug and congrats me, then introduce Alex to Dean, they interact with each other. Alex said“ hello Veronica how have you been it’s been years since I talked to you,” I said“ hey I am good how are you I don’t know you were coming,” he said“ Anna invited me we are in contact, and I was in the city she called me,” I said“ ok it’s nice to meet after a long time, and I am sorry for breaking contact with you,” he said“ it’s ok you have your reason I can understand by the way congrats on your engagement and becoming CEO you deserve it after what you’ve been through,” I said,“ thank you for coming to enjoy the party.” Lots of people congrats us some of We know Dean, he worked with them in the past year of currently he is working with them. All-time the party Lucas stared at me sideways, I saw Alex talking to him like they know for how many years after some time they both came to me Alex said "good night You’re alright again,” hug me and Lucas didn't say anything but stared at me like he wants to say something, but he left, I was glad he did not say but at some point, I want to say something. Anna and Izzy came to me asked “You’re alright we’re sorry, don’t know he will come,” I said “it’s ok I can handle him now,” they hugged me. They also leave and Dean said "you will come with me or go home,” I said, “no I am tired now, I will go tired with mom dad you can go.” He said "good night baby” kisses me and went the home. I leave after some time with my parents for home, I change in comfy night suit clean my makeup and go for asleep.
