“Dear Miss Ava,

Thanks for your cooperation.

Management”
“Oh my gosh….”
“I c-can't believe this…is this real?”
“Mia! Mia! Wake up girl has got good news” Ava shouted out in excitement after reading the email sent to her from the company. Ava didn't even expect them to get back to her, knowing it was a big company, and she wouldn't be able to make it, since she might not be as qualified as most people that would apply. But she was grateful nevertheless.
“What…” Mia said, still feeling sleepy as she hadn't completely woken up.
With all the excitement in her voice, Ava replied “They got back to me.”
“Who got back to whom, Ava? I don't understand you. What the hell are you talking about!”
“The job, I mean the application…the one you helped me with last night… E. T VENTURES.. They sent an email”
“What!” Mia was shocked as she jolted up from bed immediately. She also didn't expect the outcome, but she never doubted her friend's ability. “OMG! Girl, I know it, I told you, you are more than qualified, I'm so happy for you girl, so what did they say exactly?” Ava gave Mia her phone so she could read the mail herself.
“Wow Miss Ava, congratulations”, Mia teased. “You need to start getting ready, you don't want to be late for the interview” Ava nodded her head in agreement with a smile on her face as they both stood up from bed.
“I still can't believe this babe” Ava said, “who would have thought i would be going for an interview so soon and not just any interview, but at one of the biggest companies in L.A.”
“I know right, but i have never doubted your ability. Ava has always believed in you and I know how much you love your work, so I have always expected greater things for you.”
“Thanks dear” Ava simply said, she couldn't believe how her friend always finds a way to make her believe in herself, no matter what situation she finds herself in.
Ava quickly went to take her bath as Mia hurried to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for Ava.
Ava was still in the bathtub when it hit her: she hadn’t prepared an outfit for the interview. She hadn’t expected to be accepted for the interview, and now there was no way to go back home for clothes or even call her so-called boyfriend—she knew he’d be furious if he found out she was interviewing again for another job at a bigger company. “Mia! Can you lend me an outfit? I can’t make it home right now!” she shouted, her voice echoing off the bathroom walls.
“Of course!” Mia shouted in response before rushing to her room to find an outfit that Ava could wear for the interview.
Mia got one of her silk blouses and high-waisted tailored trousers, pairing it with simple stud earrings and black heels before she went back to preparing breakfast.
Ava got out of the bathroom and wiped her body clear before applying her body oil and putting on the dress Mia had arranged on the bed for her. Ava was grateful that Mia had brought out a long sleeve blouse so she wouldn't have to apply makeup to cover the injuries on her arms.
After dressing up, Ava packed her hair into her favorite style ‘ponytails’ before applying a little make-up to cover the little bruises on her face and applying Mia's perfume before looking into the mirror again. She was satisfied with her look and was happy because it had been a long since she had seen herself in such a nice outfit and even applying make-up, she put on the heels and walked out to go join Mia in the kitchen.
“What do you think?”
“Oh my gosh! b***h…this is, wow!…you rock!” Mia was speechless; she couldn't explain her excitement.
“All eyes are going to be on you babe, just get ready” Mia teased as she set the table for both of them to eat.
“I just hope the makeup isn't too much-” Ava didn't finish before Mia cut her off “.. Relax Ava, it isn't. No one would even think you applied makeup. It looks so natural on you.”
Ava sat down slowly as she asked “You think so?”
“I don't just think so, I know so!” Mia replied as she started eating. There was a moment of silence between them before Ava broke the silence.
“I think I should tell him about the i-interview” she said, focusing on her food, not wanting to look at Mia.
“Who?” Mia asked, not knowing who Ava was talking about yet..
“I meant my boyfr-”
“What boyfriend? You mean that fu*king son of a b***h, babe are you serious right now?”
“You need to understand Mia, we are still together, and he will find out sooner or later so why don't I just tell him now?” Ava tried explaining her reasons.
“So he would come and make a scene at your workplace again?”
“I haven't even gotten the job yet. You are already calling my workplace”. Ava laughed
“I'm serious, Ava, and I believe you got the job. That's why I'm calling it your workplace already…okay?”
“I hope so too, and I know you are serious, but I just feel I should tell him that's all, but if you feel otherwise, then I will just keep it to myself for now”, Ava replied with a smile.
“Great! Don’t worry, you’re going to crush it, okay?”
“Yeah… let me get going, so I won't get there late” Ava said as she stood up and went to get her bag.
“Bye love” Mia said as she stood up to give Ava a reassuring hug and Ava hugged her back.
“And don't forget whatever the results of the interview are, you are still a great fit to work anywhere you want, okay?” Mia whispered into Ava's ear.
“I know, and I'm not going to get my hopes up either . I don't want it to shatter when I don't get the job” Ava replied as she broke the hug.
“Not when you don't get the job. It's if you don't get the job.. But I believe in you!”
“See you later, love you!” Ava called as she stepped outside.
The ride to E. T VENTURES from Mia’s house usually took about thirty minutes. Since it was already past seven, Ava decided to grab a cab to ensure she arrived on time.
