Iris pov He drove in silence with his eyes fixed on the road while I maintained my eyesight on the trees we passed. My heart ached and somehow, I really needed to be comforted by the same man that hurt me. I wanted him to say that he was sorry and that he didn't mean what he had said, but judging from his demeanor, I doubted that he’d ever do that. He drove away from the main road and down into the dirt road leading to his place. I still couldn't place why he had decided to accept me but I was grateful for his assistance. If I had stayed in that jail one more night, I was sure that those guards would have forced themselves on me and the mere thought of it made my tummy churn.
