Damien's POV
It was 6 p.m., and we all sat behind the table for supper. Even though there was not much to smile about, Michael kept the mood entertained, talking about his childhood. After supper, I took Ariana out for a walk. We didn't go far, though.
"Damien, I know something happened to me when we were in the kitchen this morning," Ariana began. "It didn't feel ordinary. Was it Sapphira?" she asked, and shifted her gaze to me.
I planted a kiss on the back of her hand, which I was holding in my hand, and after I rubbed the back of her hand gently. There was no point lying to her. She felt it.
"Yes," I replied honestly.
"What did she say?" Ariana asked.
"She updated me on what was happening around the city. We will be going to war, but I plan on talking some sense into Demitri firs
