I planted a kiss on her forehead and pulled her into my embrace.
"What happened to me?" I heard her ask.
I recalled everything Sapphira had said to me and felt that with the protection I have gotten for her now, there was no need to scare her with the details.
"I guess you were tired and needed some rest," I replied and planted a kiss on the top of her head.
I was glad I had given her protection, and she wouldn't have to die like Sapphira said, but I wept within me, knowing I could never have children with her.
