A person's character is generated by they're will power. Will power comes from values. When a person has no values they have no will power, but they do have will but that will is enslaved by selfishness and covetousness. we've all heard the term low life before that term is used against people that have no will power. individuals that have lives, practice strong values in life. Let's keep in mind that values doesn't necessarily mean they make an individual a "good person" what makes someone a good person are the morals that are derived by the values a person practices. the cultural differences in different societies vary from culture to culture. Whats good or ok in one culture might not be considered good or ok in other cultures. Therefore it is also important to have morals in your life. Morals are instilled in an individual by parents, authority figures, societal laws, and through trial and error.
Values are basic principles that can be used to give a person confidence, and standards. The word value says it all when a person has values it means they are valuable to others a person cannot have value if they aren't valuable to someone else. When a person has values it gives them boundaries and helps them make better decisions in life. this short book will explain in basic terms what the benefits of having values can be. here are a short list of values
Respect, compassion, responsibility, persistence, consistency, perseverance, faith, humility, honor, pride, loyalty, courage, dignity, acceptance, honesty, etc. these are only a few values but the list can get bigger as a person grows in character. Most of the time a person has been practicing a value without even recognizing it.
