The Battle of Wolves

CHAPTER FIVE

“I really am the King” Alec stated out of nowhere and laughed hysterically, all of us were skeptical while looking at him since he was also a bit unusual than before.

“Finally,” he said while still laughing.

Me, Miklosh, Grace, Mika and Ace decided to transfer Steph’s corpse to another place so that it will not be moved or touched anymore, that is why Miklosh and Ace carried her while Me, Mika and Grace are assisting them and clearing the way so that it would be accessible and easy for them to transfer her back to her bedroom. They put her on her bed, and I covered her in sheets. I saw Miklosh and Ace silently weep by the death od Steph which is really unpredictable for us. I decided to sit down when suddenly the television inside Steph’s room suddenly turned on and a word popped out inside the screen which says, “Dead”.

All of us are now in the living room and sitting on the sofa silently when Alec suddenly putted his feet on the table forcefully which created a loud thud which is already enough for us to get surprised for a second.

“Lick my shoes” he said and ordered Romeo to do it. Romeo looked at him innocently and hindrance is evident to his face.

“If you don’t, then I’ll kill you immediately” Alec said like he was blackmailing him.

“You too, and you, and you, all of you!” he said while pointing us one by one like we are somewhat his maids

“I’ll kill all of you if you don’t follow my orders!” he said confidently

“I’ll kill you before that would happen then” Mika answered, she was threatening him.

“What did you just say?” He asked while looking at her intently

“hey, what is the matter with you? Why are you still kneeling down in there and did not started licking my shoes?” he asked

“or is he going to lick it all until there is no dirt left?” he said and laughed

“do it now!” he shouted at Romeo feeling like he was the king in this inferno that we are currently facing. Romeo slowly moved towards Alec like he was really going to follow his dumb commands. Romeo cried while he started to lick his shoes slowly and stopped.

“did I told you to stop?!” he said and grabbed Romeo’s head and smash it towards his shoes, and that pissed me off big time, that is why I immediately grabbed a pocket knife and stabbed him in his side which caused him to shout in pain.

“You crazy b***h!” he shouted and aimed to go near me then I hit his wound with the sword’s handle and looked at me angrily.

“Bow down you peasant, who told you to act like a king?” I said while gritting my teeth.

“Are you really the werewolf?” I asked him while smirking

“One of you guys is a fake” I added

“The fake one will be protected by the bodyguard if he or she is really the prophet” I continued

“In other words, this can be seen as a hint to the bodyguard”

“The bodyguard needs to protect me” I said then I slowly walked forward to go near him again, I looked at Mika and then shifted my eyes back at him again and shouted

“Which among you is the real one?!”

“Shut up” he said and walked towards me

“Do you also wanted to lick my shoes?” he said mockingly even though I have already stabbed him and all, he has this overflowing confidence in him that I couldn’t fathom

“it’s almost ten o’clock” I said and looked at him in the eyes when suddenly the television turned on and announced that we needed to go inside to our bedrooms since it is the time where the werewolf is out to hunt.

I am already sitting here in my bed holding my hand and looking at the image that was engraved on my palm. I was in deep thought when I just remembered what happened earlier. It was Mika who introduced herself as a wolf but then it was instantly claimed by Alec then the thing that I had read by the television inside Steph’s bedroom. I am still in deep thinking when the television suddenly lit up and gave me the names of the students that were here including their rooms and when I scrolled down, it has a message says, “Enter the room number of the specific individual that you wanted to protect”.

I entered the room number and chose Mika, I wanted to protect Mika, I was still kept on staring at the monitor and doubt if I will go inside her room or not, should I protect her or not and many other things. I felt like this night is going to be peaceful that is why I let myself to be enveloped by deep slumber.

It was approximately seven o’clock in the morning when I saw the unnamed girl washing her face by a running water in one of the sinks inside the kitchen, I slowly walked towards her as she was wiping her damp face and arms with a dry cloth.

“No one has been attacked last night, right?” I asked her the time that she shifted her gaze towards my direction.

“Yeah, I also think so” she slowly replied. I still wanted to ask her a question when someone entered the kitchen and it was Mika, she was holding her left arm and that hit my curiosity in an instant.

“are you okay?” I asked her when she just walked pass through me, she stopped and looked at me for a second and answered,

“The werewolf attack has failed, and I don’t care” she said. she then continued walking her way towards Ace and Alec who are now playing a board game together.

“Everyone’s present today, am I right?” I said and asked Mika

“It seems like the attack that I did last night was guarded by the bodyguard” Alec stated

“who is your target then?” I asked him

“last night? Oh it was Mika” he said casually

“tell that to yourself” Mika answered back

“I went to your door but it was locked” she stated

“In some way it really failed, but it makes me seems more like I am the true Werewolf” he said confidently

“that is why the bodyguard has protected you” he added

“You sure can talk huh?” Mika said and walked towards him

“Since you were protected, the tension is rising” She added. I felt like the tension between them is starting to rise that is why I meddled with their conversation

“I happened to bump with Mika a while ago and she seemed so furious” I stated

“if she was the prophet, then she will be very happy hearing that she was being protected” I added

“She is just good at acting” he claimed

“Why are you being swayed? Are you a fool?” he said

“The werewolf is me after all! Ha-ha-ha” he said and laughed hard like a madman
