The Battle of Wolves

With a heavy breath, I woke up in a dark and unfamiliar place in the middle of nowhere, wearing a school uniform, I found myself lying down in a grass under the moonlight. It was a very dark place in a sense that I had a hard time gazing the things around me. As what I had remembered vividly, I was abducted by force using a handkerchief soaked with unknown chemical that covered my nose and had my both hands and feet tied with a cable tie when they carried me inside a white van which prevented me to escape and ask for help. As we ride the white van that was used by my abductors, I noticed that we are already taking our way outside the city and heading towards the outskirts of town in the middle of the night. I vaguely saw which road that we had taken but I am quite certain that we are already too far from our homes. I can also see another white van in front of us which I assume that they were also other captives were riding in there, I looked at my side, the chairs at the back as well as in front of me then I saw nine female students which I believed that were same as what my age is, trembling and silently sobbing. I am also scared, but I made sure to contain it just for myself and working on calming my chaotic mind. We took a lot of turns left and right which kind of made me feel a little dizzy and puke a little, it feels like this travelling will took forever due to the unending turns that we are currently passing, they were also streetlights that were installed in the side of the road which has approximately 250-meter distance each post. We passed a dark and very long tunnel and after an hour or two, the vehicles just stopped which I assumed that we have already reached our desired destination. And now I am here, lying in the middle of nowhere, empty handed and without anything that I could use to protect myself if something or someone will go near me and possibly kill me. I just bring myself back to sleep and decided to look for things that I could take advantage for first thing in the morning. It was already morning and I started to take a stroll into the woods when suddenly I saw a building from afar, I immediately ran towards that place and got inside it. I was shocked when I saw some teenagers inside wearing school uniforms which I believe captives just like me, but what surprised me the most is that there are also male students in there, and some of them were still sleeping, then realization hit me that they might be the ones who were inside the white van in front of us last night which summed up to twenty students all in all, ten males and 10 females. “Hey, where are we?” “Who are you?” “What the hell is this place?” “Hey, what is this place?” “I have no clue, what’s going on in here?” “What is this! Dammit!” Those were the words that they were keep on saying repeatedly in the middle of commotion, I can see different emotions that were evident on their faces, some of them were already crying, angry, afraid, confused and trembling in fear on what may going to happen to us. All of us were alarmed and silenced when we hear a sound coming from the television in the center table. “The game has started” these are the words that was flashed in the television’s monitor. All of us were still in silence when someone break it. “This place is exactly the same as how it was described in the book” a girl said “Book?” someone asked and all of us turned at her. “What do you mean by that?!” one of us shouted. “Ace, hey Ace!” the girl suddenly called the man sitting in the chair and ran towards him. “Look at me Ace! It started; it has already started!” she added while facing at that guy named Ace. “You’re so nice, you shouldn’t have only informed him” a guy said mockingly hiding his anger towards the girl. He then slowly walked towards the television and read the additional information that was also flashed on the screen. “You cannot run outside the building towards the outside world,” “You cannot break the things inside the building,” “You cannot harm other people,” “The one who violates the rules will be executed immediately,” “Each individual’s roles are tattooed on the palm of your right hand,” “And looking at each other’s palms or disclosing their roles is prohibited,” “Each one of you are not allowed to peek and to give clues on what role are you going to play,” “I don’t get this!” someone shouted at the back, “Does anyone of you knows what’s exactly happening?” someone asked, “Am I the only one? Am I the only one who didn’t know that is going on?!” he added, all of us were silenced when someone spoke again, “I don’t know either” he slowly stated, “Me neither” I spoke “The battle of wolves, this must be the place where you need to play the battle” I added “That doesn’t explain anything, what the hell?” the girl beside me plainly stated. “I don’t know, but this right here” I said as I put my hands on my neck holding something, they immediately touched their neck and noticed a necklace with a red blinking dot which I believed a tracker. “What is this” a guy said as he started to pull the necklace from his neck. “Wait!” I shouted “maybe they were also a prop to this game” I added Then I suddenly felt an excruciating pain from my right hand and there I saw a drawing with a word under it, this might be the one which the television has been said, these might be our roles that we need to portray. I looked at my companions and saw that they also felt the pain and noticed that something was engraved to their right palm. Altogether, we slowly looked at our palms and read the indicated word in there referring to our roles. Then we slowly looked at each other and started to become fully aware towards our surroundings because there might be an enemy among us. I stared at my palm and slowly read my role and my role is BODYGUARD, it is a drawing of a creature with a spear on its right hand and a shield on its left arm. I don’t know what it means but I hope this role won’t get me killed.
