“The werewolf side is consisting of one person” the guy said as he was reading the flashes from the television screen. “The Commoners’ side has one Prophet, one Bodyguard,” “The madman’s side are composed of seven people,” he continued. “Seven madmen?” Ace asked “They’re not belonging to commoners?” the girl with glasses asked him “No, it was stated clearly there that they are not one of them” Ace said referring to the television in front. “The commoners don’t have any special abilities?” the guy asked, I gaze again towards my palm and come to realize; the commoners are just a crazy people who lives in the crazy village. What is this game? The guy then in front continued reading the phrases on the screen. “Please gather in this room every evening,” “You must vote for someone before eight in the evening,” “It keeps on getting crazier, I don’t understand!” someone shouted again. “Please kill the person who had accumulated the highest votes fifteen minutes after the voting session with your designated murder weapons,” “What do they mean killing someone?!” “What do they mean designated murder weapons?!” another person said while trembling. “I didn’t even say that I am participating!” she added, “If nobody is chosen, then everyone will die” “From 11:00 pm to 06:00 am, everyone must stay in their own rooms,” “However, from 12:00 am to 02:00 am, the Werewolves must leave its room and kill one person,” “In that period of time, the wolves can’t change its building, room, props, corpses, etc.,” “Corpses?” I gently said between my breath “what’s this talk about killing people? This is completely nonsense!” someone shouted in frustration and fear. I was just looking at him while I was also calming myself especially the thoughts that were floating inside my head. “If all the werewolves are executed, then it will be the victory of the commoners,” “When the number of people on the commoner’s side are the same with the werewolves’ side, then it will be the werewolves’ victory,” “The number of madmen is counted on the commoner’s side but, the madmen wins if the werewolves will win,” “I don’t get it; I don’t get it at all!” shouted by the same person “Pete, will you please shut up?!” Ace said, “The hell!” Pete answered, “let’s just read the rules” Alec said, he is the one who reads the rules and returned his gaze towards the screen. “The Prophet can choose one person each night to check someone’s identity to determine whether they are a commoner or a werewolf,” “The Bodyguard can protect one person each night from a werewolf attack,” “However, they cannot protect their selves,” “The victor will be rewarded a $100 Million.” All of us got quiet as soon as we heard the pot prize that each one of us will be receiving if we will be going to win the said game. “Now everyone, please do your bests and try to survive.” I read and the television got off. All of us were sitting in the chairs that was arranged at the side of the long table while facing each other, they were a lot of security cameras every corner to monitor our actions. “Katana Smith, Grade 11” I said as I introduced myself to them “Alec Gray, Grade 12” the one who were reading the rules. “Ace Buzaglo, Grade 12” the one sat on the chair “Stephanie Rae, Grade 11” the girl who ran towards Ace wearing glasses. “Ace and I both belong to the werewolf circle” she added “Werewolf circle?” Pete asked, “It’s a school club where we play werewolf games together” Steph answered. “You guys are werewolf nerds?” Pete added, “Miklosh Pierre, Grade 11” “Grace Cardinal, Grade 11” “Mika Hane, Grade 12” short-haired girl “Peter Chad, Grade 12” the one who always complaining “Romeo Hart, Grade 12” shy type boy, the one boy were afraid to introduce themselves that is why we let them be. “Does anyone here know what’s going on?” Alec asked “Tell us all the information from the book and other stuffs” he added. There was a dead air among all of us that is why I decided to speak. “We don’t have much information” I spoke “There’s been rumors about this before” I continued speaking “It’s especially popular among readers and bookworms, they play the battle of wolves” “I’ve at least received some invitations and recommendations regarding to this, and I have read some information about it” I stated “What kind of information?” Alec asked “Would you like to bet your life on the battle of wolves?” I answered “It’s the same huh?” Ace spoke “We have also seen the same thing,” he added “Me, too” Mika claimed, “How stupid,” Alec replied, “Is this the same thing?” he asked “How about you?” Ace asked Miklosh all of the sudden, “I haven’t seen it, but my friend invited me before” he replied, that got our attention instantly. “He is not here right now though” he added “Who’s doing this and why?” Alec asked out of curiosity. “There’s a rumor that it’s a gambling game, an illegal gambling game between rich people” Steph answered “They’re watching us on those cameras” Steph added as she points towards the security cameras that are facing towards us. We looked at the camera in unison and unconsciously decided to roam the building and we chose upstairs first. Miklosh was on the lead followed by Ace as we are all checking the facilities on the second floor. The building is obviously an old, abandoned school, the boys are checking the second floor while us, girls, are checking the third floor. Suddenly I saw my name written outside one of the rooms’ doors. Curiosity kills me that’s why I slid myself inside the room and I saw some bath towels, a bed, a television, there is also a study table and what catches my attention more is the clothes that were hanging on the wall that was exactly the same as what I am wearing now. I sat down at the edge of the bed and opened my right palm and stare at the tattooed figure and a word underneath it. Then I as my eyes roamed in each corner of the room that I am occupying, there is something on top at the table that immediately caught my attention, it was a small black box and tied with a black ribbon, out of confusion, I opened the box and saw a black card and read the words that were encrypted on it. “Choose one person to protect during the attack using the remote control hidden inside the small cabinet under the television” “Then pick a weapon that you wanted to use to protect the one that you had chosen”. I look around to find what weapon that they have given me, and I saw a big wooden box near the cabinets, I opened it and there I saw three weapons that I was asked to choose, there is a double-edged sword, a dagger with shuriken, and an axe. I decided to choose the most beneficial to me which is the sword. I felt thirsty that’s why I got downstairs to look for water inside the abandoned kitchen. I saw a girl inside drinking some water, she is one of the students who refused to introduce their selves. “Have you chosen your desired weapon already?” she broke the silence “Yes, I do have.” I answered “You said that you saw information about the game from invitations, right?” she added, “Why were we have chosen to play this game?” she softly murmured “That’s because-, I don’t know” I told her “I want to figure it out” she said as she looked at me in the eyes. I walked closely towards her and comforted her since I can tell that she was already in the verge of crying. “Anyways, all we have to do is to win this battle, okay? I said to her. She just looked at me and didn’t spoke a word and after some moment she left me inside.
