I didn’t get the opportunity to subtly ask Diego out with my restaurant recommendation ploy, but something even better happened!
When the ‘changing of the guards’ rolled around and my parents arrived to take over the vigil at Nixie’s bedside, we chatted briefly about the uneventful evening. My dad made a snarky comment about the fact that Nixie’s ‘loser’ husband, Trent, has been MIA for the past few days.
While I agree that he does seem rather disconnected and hasn’t been visiting Nixie as often as he probably should, I would prefer to have a direct discussion to hear his side of things before making any rash decisions about him.
