Chapter 2

GENEVIEVE

-Maybe one day, you will see what you did to me-

I closed my eyes and it felt like the end. I just wanted it to be an end. They have broken me so much that I can't even collect all the pieces. That day was the worst I ever had. In school, they tortured me so much that I lost my control and cried pathetically in front of the whole school. It was unbearable.

Mason and Xander just watched everything from distance. I didn't expect them to come but after that when I came home, I faced my worst fear ever.

Mason and Xander came home drunk and stumbled into the kitchen. I was cleaning the stuff and Xander pulled me back, gripping my wrist.

"Hello, little sister." He smiled wickedly at me. I was terrified when I saw his dark eyes.

"Let me go please." I tried my best to pull away from him but he was way stronger than me.

"No way. You should be dead by now. You killed my mom-dad. I hate you. I hate every f*****g thing that you do." He yelled at me.

Mason was just standing at the doorframe; his arms were crossed over his chest. Xander's hand made contact with my cheek as he slapped me hard.

"I hate you. I hate you so much." He yelled again and kicked my stomach.

I lost my balance and fell on the ground. After throwing some more insults they left and that was the end of all. I just wanted to die but I didn't want my dad to hate me too.

So I made a decision. I decided to set myself free and leave this pack. I decided to move out and give up. I couldn't stand anymore. I decided to let Mason go and set free my heart. I decided to let my wolf free. She was dying inside me so I decided to move on.

I snatched a paper and pen and wrote to no one in person

'I am leaving finally. This is all everyone wanted, right? So finally I'm giving you what you wanted. I have no one here so it wouldn't matter to anyone that I'm leaving but... I tolerated everything for more than 10 years but now I'm setting myself free. Being rogue seems better than being in this pack where everyone hates me and cherishes my death every single time they see me. So I just hope now that they will get what they always wanted and forget me like I was never a part of this community before.'

I went to Mason's room. I knew it wasn't allowed but I had to do it. I glanced at the clock and it was 2 am.

I opened the door and he was sleeping peacefully. I knew he deserved better than me. I was nothing but a weak wolf. He was the strongest of all. He needed someone who could have made him happy. And it wasn't me so I decided to let go.

I sat on my knees, in front of him and

"I, Genevieve Taylor, accept your rejection." My lower lip quivered and I felt a deep pain in my heart.

That was the time I knew it was over. I was free to leave. I stood up and ran outside. The forest was covered in snow. I took my bag and ran into that. I just didn't want to stop; I wanted to go away from everything. After 10 minutes of running, I heard a loud growling. My heart stopped. I turned back and that's when I was tackled to the ground.

A big black wolf was straddling me to the ground. He growled at me again, showing me his teeth.

"Alpha..." I was more than shocked.

He moved away and shifted back to his human form. I cast my eyes to the ground. He came closer.

"You can't just leave like this. You will be rogue." He stated calmly.

"It's better than being in this pack," I answered timidly. He growled again and made me whimper.

"You can't blame your death on me, you hear me? You can't. You are my mate though I have rejected you and you can't do this." He yelled in frustration.

I didn't know what to say but I wanted to go away from all this. I took a step back and he took one towards me.

"Please let me go. I have already accepted your rejection. You are free now." I whispered and his eyes turned black.

He growled viciously and I whimpered again. I knew his wolf had taken control. I tried to move away but he grabbed my hand and pulled me to his chest.

"Alpha... You don't want to do this..." I said but he cut me off by smashing his lips on mine.

It took me a few seconds to process what happened. His tongue found its way in and he explored every corner. His hands traveled to my thighs and he pushed me up. I wrapped my feet around his waist and he walked to one of his cabins.

I woke up when sunlight hit my face. My eyes widened with realization when I saw Mason beside me. My heart started beating faster and he groaned. His reaction was the same and he stood up abruptly.

"No. No... It is not possible. We didn't. Oh god!" he held his head in his hands and suddenly he shot up,

"Leave..." he yelled.

I was more than shocked to hear that. He didn't just say that.

"I said Leave. I don't want to see your face again. It was a mistake and it wasn't me it was my wolf. I don't want you so go away. Don't come back ever." He shouted and I flinched.

I took a step back. Tears were stinging in my eyes but he didn't care.

He wanted me gone so I ran outside. I ran till I couldn't breathe. I ran till I wasn't out of his territory. I ran till I couldn't forget him or what happened. I just ran away...

He was unaware of what he did to me or my already weak wolf. But I wanted to make sure he would never find out about me again. Finally, I was free but alone. Without a home, without anything in my hand, I just hoped to make it out alive.

One day he will realize what he has done to me and I know he won't regret that. He will be happy with his Luna, playing with his kids and ruling a pack with his wife whom he loves. That's definitely not me so I just have to let go...
