Flame of Time

EVE'S POV Deep beneath a mountain there remained a girl frozen in crystal. That's me. Eve. I should start on how I ended up here. "Eve" said a woman's voice with urgency. I looked up at her I wonder why mom is so worried. "your father is waiting for us." "what for" I ask. She hesitated before half dragging me to the woods. " you'll see when we get there." I took deep breath. "wish I knew what was going on." I thought while quietly following mom. The woods were quiet, the only noise is the leaves rustling in the wind; Along with our footsteps and breath. soon your time will come. a voice whispered. I looked around searching for the voice but saw nothing but bushes. "what's wrong" mom asked. I shook my head "nothing" I whispered. Mom gave me questioning look before We continued walking under the swaying trees. Once the trees begun to thin out and rocks took thier place. we knew we were close to the base of the mountain. Mom stopped dead in her tracks as I unknowingly bumped into her. "oww" I huffed while rubbing my forehead. " why did you...." "shhh" she interrupted. Growing paranoid I started looking around. until a flash of silver caught my eye. "mom" I started right as some guys came rushing towards us. I shot a ball of fire at closest guy while mom dodged a blade from another."Be careful" mom shouted. As the fire ball knocked the guy on his butt another lunged at me. I responded by whipping a wave of fire towards his face. He ducked and froze my feet in place. "dammit" I thought. A wave of water slamed into me. I was barely able generate enough flame to take the impact. I glanced at my mom. she had 1 hand frozen to the ground while rest of her did a flip. leaving behind a circle of fire. it causes these jerks to back away. Long enough for Mom to melt the ice and create a wall of fire. A ball of ice crashing into my side brought my attention back to myself. "mom doesn' t need my help I should focus on saving my butt" I cursed before melting the ice on my feet. I kicked a burst of flame into one of thier faces before lunging at the other with a fist full of flame. he dodged my fist and returned a blast of water at me. I met it with my own flames. causing it to evaporate and fill the area with steam. "he's alright but not good enough" He sent a wave from one side and came at me from other side. I jumped and pivoted mid air to send a giant pillar of flame directly on top of him. He was burnt but laid there alive. the other guy wandered around because he could not see from my flash of fire to his face. I looked over to mom. She was sweating but had chased off the men. "we need to hurry" mom stated "they'll be back with reinforcements" She started into a half sprint into trees, leaving me to chase after her. We ran out the woods and to a hidden hatch. It blended well into the base of mountain. Mom fumbled with latch before finally opening it. Revealing never ending stairs into the earth. I quickly desended the stairs. letting my hand skim the smooth walls. In my other hand I held a ball of fire. The flames causing the light to dance on the walls. "Mom what's going on?" I asked. She sighed "the king has determined we be killed." "what?" I asked shocked. "our family. is to risky to be left alive, because of your father and you." "I don' t understand" "your flames. haven't you noticed how they are turning blue?" "sorta. not really" "blue can burn, freeze, heal, but it can do more" she explained. " your father isn't who he seems to be. He was immortal. a gift from his flames, but in exchange for his immortality we had you." mom explained " doesn't explain why he wants to kill us" I stated. "He wants me and your father dead, so he can have you. To be his pet and to give your immortality to his children that you give him" "that's sooooo gross" I grimaced at the thought being his slave and child bearer. "exactly" mom continued " why me and your father have found a solution for you at least." mom fell silent after that. and all I could do was ponder on what she had said Finally we reached end of the stairs, but now we had to walk through a giant maze for a cave. Mom seemed to know where to go as we moved fluently through the maze. Once we reached a giant chamber with crystals lining the entire area, we found dad and 1 other waiting for us. "Dad" I cried out. he came over to me and gave me a hug. "are you alright?" he asked " we're fine" mom answered while joining our hug. "let's go" the man watching growled. " we dont have time for all this lovey dovey stuff". My dad chuckled then took me by the shoulders. "sweety don't hate us, but for your safety we have to preserve you." "I will never hate you. besides mom told me why." I responded. "there's more to your power then she knows" he whispered. " but that's exactly why we are willing to preserve you for a future that doesn't remember my powers." "I don't want leave you. we can fight" I declared. Dad shook his head. "we love you sweetheart" he said before he pushed me away. I was enveloped in his blue flames as I reached out to my mom and dad." I love you too" I cried as the warm flames begin to crystallize with me inside them.
