I watch Brodie breathing in and out in his hospital bed. Every breath I watched him take made me feel calmer. When I heard from Clare about how close he was to losing his life, I almost lost my mind. The car had been specifically booby trapped so that, in the unlikely event of someone being able to disarm the various bombs below, an explosive on the inside would be armed by a timer. Matias appeared to not only be a maniac, but a maniac that was a genius with a bomb.
We think that Matias wanted to kill me so that Piper suffered a traumatic loss. He bet that I would have been at the car determined to be the one who would get him out. He banked on the fact that I would have been slower than a wolf and he would have been f*****g right!
