Piper Have you ever looked up at a Rainbow and decided it was just for you? That's how I felt right at that moment blinking in the morning sun, listening to the waves of the ocean as they crashed against the shore of the beach. I could feel the blood leaving my body, smell it mixing with the soft sand that was underneath me. "PIPER?" I heard him cry out in terror "Oh Jesus Christ!" I could hear him running towards me, flip flops clicking as he sped across the beach. The love of my life was here, and suddenly things didn't seem so bad. He crashed down beside me and pulled his shirt off, using it as a gauze to press into the bullet wound in my stomach. It should have hurt but it didn't. I couldn't really feel much any more. He grabbed my face roughly and held my gaze. My eyes had taken on a life of their own and were trying to roll back into my skull - I had to keep blinking to maintain my focus. He was so beautiful and he was alive! That was all that mattered to me, my sacrifice was worth it. "You're not going anywhere, you hear me?" I smiled up at him "Blake" I whispered, again marvelling at the way his name sounded. "The ambulance is on its way, I just need you to hold on for a little bit longer, ok?" I closed my eyes and felt my tears start to trickle down my face. "Please Piper, please. I love you," Finally, I thought to myself, overjoyed at his confession. Finally. Blake I was stood behind the bar with a pile of bills in one hand and a small pile of cash in the other. It didn't matter what I did, the bills always outweighed the cash. And just when I was at rock bottom, the woman of my dreams walked through the door. From what I could see she was everything I didn't need in my life. "Hi" She said walking towards me, with a killer smile on her face. I nodded once, and headed out to the kitchen. There wasn't a chance in hell I was getting involved with her. No way!! That didn't stop me looking at her through the glass window in the door. The dress she was wearing was insane! Christ knows why she'd come into my place looking like that. If any of the regular boys came in tonight all hell was going to break loose! Still that was not my problem. My problem was money, and that was all my mind could concentrate on. But man was she gorgeous! "Go take that girls order Kal!" I said to my baby brother. "I thought I couldn't serve behind the bar until I was 18?" s**t! "Fine!" I marched back out of the Kitchen ready to face the enemy.
