Burnt Skies

~Carmens POV~ I'm sitting in my bedroom staring out my window when all of a sudden theres a knock on my door. "Come in" i call, in walks my step brother Ash. "Mom wants to talk to you down stairs, I'm guessing it's important so you may want to actually go this time." "About what?" I ask curiously "I don't know she said about girl stuff, gross!" he says making a disgusted face "Oh just shut up and tell her I'm coming" I stare at him annoyed "Fine you want me to tell her shut up for you too?" He smirks "Just get out!" I yell at him beyond annoyed *down stairs* "Why did you want me mom?" "Well honey you know how you are starting a new school and all, well i just wanted to talk to you about it" She says happily "Why? and about what?" "Well about boys and dating and maybe...." she winks at me With my mouth wide I stare at her in utter disbelief "Gross mom you think that i'm gonna do that i cant believe you!" I huff and cross my arms "Well honey you can't always be sure!" she laughs I get up out of the chair and run upstairs to my bedroom and lock the door behind me. I've been sitting in my bedroom for like hour just watching tv and picking out what i will wear tomorrow to my new high school. Then the door handle twists "honey can i come in, i'm sorry I embarrassed you" "Don't you know how to knock mom" I sigh in defeat "Oh come on Carmen don't be like that i said i'm sorry" "Fine come in!" I get up and unlock the door In walks my mom wearing these old lady clothes. "Oh i know you are looking at my clothes, I'm going to grandmas that's why I'm wearing these, you know how grandma dosn't like the clothes i wear." she shakes her head "Yeah i know i know..." Then in walks my brother out of no where "so does this mean i can have a party while you are gone or go to a party either way i'm having a good time and so are you with grandma" he smirks "No, its almost bed time" "What?! we have bed times! no way!" me and my brother both say at the same time. "Well thats that, go to bed" She rolls her eyes "But mom we haven't even had dinner" i complained "Oh thats right, well then tonight is fend for yourself night" she gives us this grin then walks out of the room. I hear the door slam and the car starting and i can tell my brother heard it too cause i see this smirk on his face. "Well Carmen lets go to a party!" He grins "No, i'm not going i'm really tired" "Oh thats always your excuse just come on and come to the party" He pouts He is right that is always my excuse but hey im not really a party kind of girl. "sorry bro but I'm not leaving this bed" "Fine then im leaving without you" "You do that! " I shout Sure enough the door slams, the car starts and he's gone. "Yes finally alone!" I smile to myself in victory I go down stairs to go get some fruit snacks cause im not too hungry, then i go back up stairs. "What to do, what to do" I ponder As I'm laying there my eye lids start to get really heavy I decide not to fight it and just let darkness consume me.
