Beauty and a Thief

Adam's POV "Bang! Bang! Bang!" I hear a loud noise coming from the door waking me up suddenly. I curse under my breath as I get up to check who the stubborn and mannerless knocker is. I open the door to meet the old, pale and wrinkled face of Alfred. Alfred is an incredibly old chamberlain. He has been serving my family for about forty years and he looks about seventy now. I look at the old man who currently has his body weight distributed on some wood with silver encrusted walking stick. His silvery white hair in a slick back hairstyle and his brown eyes carried a sense of dignity and wisdom. His twitching thin lips revealing that he wants to tell me something. I move out of the way to let his tall, lean figure into my room. “Good morning young prince” he says quite cheerfully but with his face devoid of any of that emotion. “Couldn’t I have slept in for a few more hours Alfred?” I ask him as I grab my robe. “Any other day, sleeping in would have been acceptable” he says in a serious tone
