Percy's POV
Today's the day. It felt like I'm graduating high school, which I must say, wasn't easy for me.
Dad was pretty enthusiastic about having this party and what's annoying me the most about him, was that he kept trying to get a girl to accompany me. They're all either mermaids or water nymphs, and they're not really my type. The girl I would only choose is Artemis and if I tell him that, he would laugh his head off and say my dream is ridiculous. Huh, I don't really mind.
So far, the party looked pretty good, but I'm not so sure about all the wine. Dad said it's essential for any celebration on Olympus. I guess Olympians take wine seriously. Anyways, I'm surprised that I haven't royally screwed up anything yet. Actually, all the gods accepted me, especially the minor ones who had really appreciated me after I taught Ares a lesson. About Ares, he didn't come out from the infirmary, which I felt relief because if he's here, he would screw everything up. Now all I need to do is wait till 7:00 and that's when the celebration begins.
I walked into an enormous banquet hall, and man is it a piece of work. There were beautiful Greek paintings on the walls, the whole place was made of elegant marble, and the entire place seemed to have a glow to it even the gods occupying it. I walked in deeper into the hall in my black, Versace tux with a deep blue tie, not wanting to brag, but I looked better than Brad Pitt in his younger days.
I entered arm in arm with Artemis, I was about to go with Aphrodite since she asked, but I figured Hephaestus and Ares wouldn't appreciate that. So I asked Arty, I didn't know why, but it was just a feeling I had. She squinted her eyes as if thinking 'Why would I go with you?', but to my surprise she actually said, "Fine, but only because you asked." I was thinking she would throw a dagger at me for just coming near her.
Zeus wasn't exactly pleased with me interlocking arm Arty. I didn't care anyway. besides, I had made a rivalry between me and him. I couldn't just fix it in a few hours or days. So let's just flow with it.
About Artemis, man, did she look amazing... She was wearing a silver gown, which really complimented her silver eyes and her curly, auburn hair was neatly tied up into a bun. I couldn't help but notice that everyone was looking at us in shock, probably thinking how Artemis a maiden goddess, who hates men the most and a male could actually stand touching each other.
Apollo suddenly jumped out from the crowd with a microphone and started speaking.
"Attention everyone. Today I invite you here to celebrate our new member. I would like to present you, Perseus Jackson, God of Times"
"And Prince of the oceans" Poseidon shouted from the crowd. Everyone cheered loudly in response with enthusiasm. I couldn't help but smile.
Artemis's POV
I walked down the aisle with Percy who smiled brilliantly at everyone as they congratulated him. He looked absolutely stunning as always. I kept a straight face and followed. I looked through the crowded and spotted Aphrodite walking gracefully towards us. She turned to Percy and gave him a seductive smile, which in all truth aggravated me.
"So how's it feel to be a god?" she asked with that same smile.
He laughed slightly. "Pretty good, I guess. Let's just hope Ares won't kill me when he gets back."
She laughed too, "I make no promises there. He can be pretty violent when it comes to you. He will probably pretty mad about the time you defeated him."
Then Aphrodite turned to me, glanced at me and Percy's interlocking arms and winked at me. I blushed slightly and removed my arm from his. Percy turned to me with a confused look.
"I said I'd accompany you here. Here I am, and we walked through the entrance arm in arm. That's the end of the deal." He nodded and said with a smirk "It was good while it lasted." I sensed sarcasm in his voice and gave him a playful smile as he walked off.
Aphrodite popped up behind me. "I saw the look you gave him... something going on?" I swear I wish I could do something about her sometimes.
"No, there certainly isn't."
"Then how come you two came together?"
"That was only because he asked and I don't think it'd look good for him to show up to his celebration without a woman at his side."
"Alright, whatever you say..." and she strolled back over to where Percy was chatting with Apollo. How much more irritating could she get?
Percy's POV
The party had been going for few hours and I couldn't stand for any longer. Whoever came to me, they would just ask me to drink more. So I ditched Apollo by telling him that I had something in my stomach and fled into the garden.
I really love the garden. It's the most peaceful place on Olympus. There are plenty of plants from every parts and time of the world. On the left of the garden, you could see some palace of some gods. Artemis is the closest because she was born with nature.
I found my spot which is a large boulder near the cliff. From there, you can see the entire city of Manhattan. Tonight is a beautiful night. The sky was clear and you could see Asteria and thousands of stars up there. The moon was in a bright galleon. I wondered, did Artemis make it look more attractive? About Artemis, I just couldn't stop thinking about her. To be honest I still miss the kiss we shared that day. I couldn't forget it. Just thinking about her make me fell.
"It's beautiful isn't it?" a voice came from behind me.
I turned back and got captured by a pair of beautiful and brilliant silver eyes. I couldn't say anything so I just nodded.
"Why are you here?" Artemis asked, taking a seat next to me.
Her soft and milky arm touched mine made me tense but my brain was melting.
"I cannot stay in there. Too much wine, it's really bad for my brain" I replied.
She just laughed "look like you're not like the other males. Who just thinks wine and women are the best."
"Not all of us are like that you know" I defended.
"Yeah, I know" she sighed and looked at the stars.
"They are so beautiful. You know, sometimes I wish I could be like them. Not being controlled or following orders from anyone, free do whatever you want and...and find someone relevant for you." She said.
"You wished to have a feeling for someone?!" I looked at her in disbelieving.
For the first time of my life, I have actually heard Artemis, a maiden goddess, a man hater, thinking about having some feelings for a male. I felt hope, this's mean I could have a chance to be with her. But what if she liked someone else, what if she never has any feelings for me. There were too much what if and they made me scare.
"No,no, no. I was just thinking about it . I don't have any feelings for someone and they would never come true." she said throwing her hands up in surrender.
I just sighed "Well sometimes, I wish I could be like them too you know. There were many things happened in my life before. If I am a star, these things would never happen"
"Don't you mind to tell me about your past. Now is a perfect time for you to flow out all the memories you don't want to keep. I'm here to listen" she said.
I looked at her thankfully and started telling her. I told her everything. She was really mad about Annabeth and I just smiled about it.
"...And that's when you appeared" I finished my story.
She looked at me with sorrow eyes and I just smiled.
"If I see that girl, I would shoot her right in the head. She doesn't deserve you, Percy. You are too good for her."
"Relax, I'm a god now, she cannot see me anymore. I still have to move on right? Maybe I can find another love and have a family one day."
She looked mad. What did I do wrong? It was just some words that I couldn't control. The love I was saying is her. She cannot get it, Percy, you are so stupid. She took out her dagger but dropped it somehow. I reached forward to catch it, but Artemis and I did simultaneously and we ended up with her hand on mine. We looked up and our eyes locked. Times started moving slowly and the scene was just like the time in the infirmary. Our head moved closer and I could feel her neutral and forest sense breath. Our nose touched and we were still staring at each other. Our lips were only a few millimetres apart and
"Oi, what are you two doing?"
