Chapter 10Gael stopped by Jish Baker the next morning. He’d entertained the idea of picking Ethan up at his apartment and driving him to work, but it was in the middle of the f*****g night, and maybe it was bordering on stalking to insert himself in Ethan’s life that way. When he crossed the threshold, Ethan was behind the counter, adding pastries to the display shelf. His eyes widened as he took in Gael. “Did I forget something in the car?” “Nope.” He walked forward. “Okay. What are you doing here then?” Gael smiled at him but said nothing. Ethan didn’t say anything either. They simply stood there and gazed into each other’s eyes. “Ethan—Oh…” Lisa walked out through the swing door to the kitchen. “Gael. What are you doing here?” “Oh, I figured I’d have some breakfast before work.”
