Chapter 32

RAMON’S POV I stared at Veronica as she pulled on her restraints, trying to break free. Her legs kicked and her body twisted, doing everything in its power to break free, but it was useless. She was stuck. She wasn’t going anywhere. My thoughts keep drifting back to Caterina and how she left me begging on my knees at the private hangar. I thought our love could with stand anything—but I guess not. Then again, it was all my fault. I still have some hope left, knowing that this baby might not even be mine. Even though there’s hope, there’s also that crippling rage that wants to come out and f*****g kill Veronica. If she really lied and tried to trap this baby on me, I was gonna loose it. I lost my Caterina over this child. My child. Or at least I think it’s my child. I sighed out, feeling like s**t. There was no way I was gonna get any sleep tonight, especially knowing I should be receiving a call soon that will change my life completely. Either outcome will be horrible. The child may be mine and I will be connected to Veronica for the rest of my life. Or. The child may not be mine and I lost Caterina all for nothing. Each scenario is f*****g shitty. “Rámon.” Veronica rasped out as she finally stopped fighting. “Please untie me, I don’t want to be restrained like this.” “No chance.” I muttered out as I pulled a pack of cigarettes from my pocket and lit one up. I puffed on it as I watched Veronica, noticing how much I hated everything about her. I hated her green eyes, and her blonde hair that was obviously dyed to achieve that bright color. I hated how much makeup she wore and the way her tone of voice was sharp, like nails on a chalkboard. I f*****g hated everything about her. “Rámon please.” She begged as tears ran down her fake face, leaving a trail of messy mascara in their wake. “Think about our child.” I scoffed, “My child? The bastard may not even be mine.” She whined before pulling on her restraints again. She screamed out, realizing she wasn’t going anywhere. “I swear to f*****g god! When I get out of here, I’m gonna kill all of you!” She threatened, “Starting with that b***h Caterina.” I coldly chuckled, knowing she was never gonna get the chance to touch Caterina, let alone be in her presence ever again. “As if I’d ever let that happen.” I muttered as I took a drag of my cigarette and blew the smoke out. “My father will kill you!” She promised, “He will kill all of you!” I laughed again, knowing she was just spewing desperate lies at this point. “The same man who works for lower boss’s in the mafia?” I asked in amusement, “The man that can’t even take care of his family. How the f**k will he kill me? Your father isn’t s**t, just like you Veronica.” “f**k YOU!” She screamed back, making me smirk. I stood up from my seat and walked around the bed. I stood over her and enjoyed the way she squirmed as she tried to break free. I leaned down and curled my lip as I looked at her with the utmost disgust. “I wouldn’t f**k you again even if you were the last woman on earth.” I took one more drag of my cigarette before putting it out on her arm. I listened as her skin burned as I continued to smash the hot cherry onto her pale skin. “AHHHHHHHHH” She screamed out in pain. Her green eyes blazed with fury before she fought an against her restraints, trying to hit me. “Save your energy Veronica.” I smirked, “Your gonna need it.” “You bastard!” She snarled, “I’ll f*****g kill you!” My phone rung, making my body tense up. I pulled it out of my pocket and looked at the familiar number, knowing the doctor was calling me. The results were finally ready. Veronica’s agonizing screams pierced my eardrums, making me groan out. I grabbed a rag off the dresser and stuffed it into her evil mouth. “Shut up you she-devil.” I answered the phone, not knowing how to feel. “Mr. Bonanno?” The doctor answered, making me nervously gulp. “Yes?” “The results have come back.” The doctor informed me, “We took five tests, just to be sure.” “And the results?” I asked, feeling my heart race inside of my chest. “I’m sorry sir, but the child isn’t yours.” His words pierced my heart, breaking it for another time after Caterina shattered it by leaving. I tried to speak or even just breathe, but I had a hard time doing either. The child wasn’t mine? All this time, the child wasn’t mine? “Are you sure?” I breathed out, finally catching my breath. “Yes, Mr. Bonanno. I’m absolutely positive that the child isn’t yours. All five tests proved that you weren’t the father.” He explained, “I also checked into the paternity results through the hospital and found out they were forged. Your DNA was tested against your own DNA, that was the only reason why the paternity test you received named you as the father.” A strangled breath escaped my lips as I plopped back into my chair. I ran my hand over my face before tugging on my hair. I had no strength left. it felt like all my life force disappeared. There was no way that they were lying to me. They worked for the Gambino’s, they wouldn’t risk their life to lie about something trivial like this. I mean what would they have to gain from lying anyways? The only person to gain from lying would be Veronica. That b***h orchestrated this whole thing and I would’ve been screwed for the rest of my life if I didn’t come clean to Valentina. Fuck! “Mr. Bonanno?” The doctor called out after silence stretched between us, “Is there anything else we can do for you?” “No.” I cleared my throat as a strong feeling of despair washed over me. “Thanks for your help.” “Of course, Mr. Bonanno.” I hung up the phone, trying to grasp some sense of reality. All I could think about was my Caterina. I had lost her for nothing. I lost her over a child that was even mine. How could I f**k up this colossally?! Rage consumed me whole, making me lash out. I picked up priceless vases before throwing them against the wall, watching them shatter. I picked up a lamp and smashed in into the tv that was mounted on the wall. Veronica yelled out through her gag as she tried to break through her restraints. I rushed over to the bed and gripped her neck before choking her until her face turned blue. “You f*****g lied to me!” I gritted out through clenched teeth, “You made me loose my Caterina!” Her body thrashed around as I continued choking her, looking to strangle her to death. I wanted to f*****g kill her and that bastard baby growing inside of her, but I had questions. I let go of her before pulling the gag out of her mouth. She gasped for air as her chest rose and fell rapidly. “I’m sorry.” Veronica cried out as hot tears fell from her eyes, “I just wanted to live a better life. Please don’t kill me!” I scoffed, seeing how pathetic she really was. She was a scheming evil w***e and I fell for every lie she fed me. “Who did you work with?!” I questioned angrily, “That doctor?!” She nodded her head rapidly, “He helped me drug you so we could get samples of your DNA.” I widened my eyes in shock before I screamed out in anger. I slammed my fist into the wall, leaving a huge hole. He was dead. They were all gonna be dead. “Rámon please!” Veronica begged, “Please spare me, I’m so sorry!” I cold and menacing laugh escaped my lips as I grabbed my gun and shoved it down her throat. Her eyes widened with fear as her body tensed up. The barrel of my gun was in her mouth and she wouldn’t move a muscle. I’m sure she saw her life flash before her eyes. “You’re only sorry because you got caught you f*****g b***h!” I bellowed, itching to pull the trigger. I really wanted to pull the trigger, but whatever conscience I had left, wouldn’t let me. My eyes trailed down her body until they rested on her baby bump. Veronica may have been an evil b***h, but her child didn’t deserve to die. The child was innocent in all of this, even if he was a bastard. I closed my eyes and breathed deeply before taking the gun out of her mouth. “Three months.” I gritted, “Three months and you will f*****g suffer a horrible death.” She whimpered. “Until then, you will be my prisoner.” I promised, “Be lucky that I will spare your son, but you will never know him.” “NO!” She screamed out, “You can’t take my son away from me!” I smirked, “You have no say in anything Veronica.” She screamed out as she fought against her restraints. I left the room, leaving her to her useless fight, knowing she was never gonna break free. My very being itched to call Caterina to tell her that the child wasn’t mine, but will she even forgive me? I needed to give her time. In the meantime, I have a doctor to hunt down and rip to shreds. That man was gonna suffer a horrible death, right along with Veronica. That was a promise.
