Vinny made some calls and found out where Veronica was staying. He was surprised to hear that Rámon had her put up in an expensive high rise apartment months ago, along with guards watching her every move.
The longer he thought about it, he wasn’t really all that surprised.
Rámon was taking care of his responsibilities, even if the situation was f****d up. Atleast he was being a man and trying to do the right thing.
I think thats the only thing Vinny respects about Rámon—he’s a man when it counts.
Then again, there’s more things Vinny respects about Rámon, but he won’t be admitting it anytime soon.
He was mad at his best friend—rightfully so.
“I hope Caterina will be okay.” Rowan whined from the backseat as she looked out the window.
Sage nodded her head right beside Vinny, “Me too. I’d hate for our friend to be heart broken for the rest of her life.”
“She’ll be okay.” Vinny reassured them, “Cat’s strong. If anybody can get over this, it’s her.”
“I know.” Sage frowned, “But she shouldn’t have to go through this.”
Vinny reached over and grabbed Sage’s hand before interlocking their fingers together. He brought her hand up to his lips and kissed it.
“I know, my love.” He whispered as he kept driving.
Sage found relief in Vinny’s touch, knowing she would be lost without him.
‘How am I so deserving of him?’ She thought to herself.
“Did you find out where she is staying?” Sage asked, knowing she wanted revenge on behalf of her best friend.
Vinny nodded his head while briefing looking at Sage before turning his attention back over to the road.
“Good, now take us there.” She demanded, not leaving any room for objections.
“Sage.” Vinny sighed, “I need to know why you want to see her before I take you there.”
Sage narrowed her eyes as she glared at Vinny.
“Do you not trust me?”
“No Sage, thats not it.” Vinny assured, “I just know your temper. I don’t want you to do anything you might regret.”
Sage relaxed in her seat before her eyes softened.
Vinny was always looking out for her, even when she didn’t need him too.
“I promise I won’t do anything I will regret.”
She was telling the truth, because she wasn’t gonna regret anything she was about to do to that man-stealing, home-wrecking w***e.
Pregnant or not, Sage was gonna get revenge on behalf of the whole family. She may not have known how to fight, but Veronica was gonna get a bad beat down tonight.
Sage was sure of it.
“Fine, then I will take you to her.” Vinny turned the SUV around, heading towards Veronica’s place.
“You are so good to me.” Sage smiled as she admired Vinny and how handsome he was.
He was utterly perfect—better than perfect.
He wasn’t rugged like his father or Rámon with all of their tattoos. Vinny held a timeless charm, yet he was so masculine that he could make any other man drop to their knees and bare their necks in submission.
Vinny was a boss.
That thought alone made her hot and bothered by the second.
She’s been waiting to jump his bones—a year and four months, that was all she had left to wait until she could unwrap him like a present and feast on his heavenly body.
She smiled to herself, knowing it was gonna be the time of her life.
“Of course, anything for you.” Vinny smiled before kissing her hand again. “I love you.”
“I love you too, Vin.”
…
Vinny, Sage and Rowan all stood in the hall of Veronica’s building. They passed a couple of Rámon’s guards on the way who were spooked when they saw them.
Sage didn’t waste any time banging on her door. Vinny felt the hostility rolling off Sage in waves.
To be honest, he feared what she was gonna do, but he could never deny her in any way. He trusted her, even when he knew the situations she put him in were straight trouble.
He loved her—through thick and thin.
The door was pulled open by one of Rámon’s men but Veronica was right behind him, hoping that Rámon finally came to see her.
“What are you doing here?” Veronica questioned in annoyance as she saw who was at the door.
“I came to beat your ass!” Sage yelled out before charging at Veronica.
She delivered a nasty right hook that knocked Veronica to the floor. She grabbed a hold of her hair and dragged her into the living room and away from the men who were trying to break them up.
“Sage!” Vinny yelled out, worrying about her.
“How dare you?!” Sage snapped out as she kept hitting Veronica in the head, “How dare you steal Rámon away from Caterina you stupid w***e!”
Veronica screamed, begging for somebody to save her. Sage screamed out as she kept hitting her, not giving her any mercy.
Vinny was finally able to wrap his arms around Sage and pull her away from Veronica, but not before she ripped a fistful of Veronica’s hair out.
Rowan stood by with malice in her eyes as she glared at Veronica.
“You stupid b***h!” Veronica yelled out, “How dare you hit me!”
Veronica was pulled up by one of Rámon’s men.
“Shut up!” Rowan yelled back before she delivered a slap to her face and pushed Veronica back to the floor, “Don’t insult my best friend!”
Rowan smashed her small foot into Veronica’s face, knocking some of her teeth out. One of Rámon’s men grabbed a hold of Rowan and pulled her away from Veronica.
Vinny looked at Veronica and the blood and teeth that were now lying on the marble floors.
“Fuck.” He whispered out.
He knew he should have never brung them here. Even if he hated Veronica, she was still pregnant.
She was heavily pregnant by the prominent baby bump she had.
There was no denying that fact.
“You’re a f*****g home-wrecker!” Sage yelled out, “You couldn’t sink your claws in my Vinny so you did it to Rámon!”
Sage fought in Vinny’s hold, but he wouldn’t let her go. Her attempts to free herself were feeble and useless.
“f**k you!” Veronica cried out as she wiped the blood from her surgically enhanced lips. “I will f*****g kill you!”
“I would like to see you try!” Sage yelled back, “You can’t do s**t to me!”
Veronica yelled out as one of Rámon’s men helped her up off the floor.
“What the f**k is going on in here?” Rámon questioned from the door way before he entered.
He took one look at Veronica and knew exactly what happened, he didn’t need anybody to open their mouth and tell him anymore.
“Rámon!” Veronica dramatically cried out, “These bitches attacked me!”
She pointed a finger at Rowan and Sage before she reached out for Rámon. She tried to seek comfort from him but Rámon recoiled, not wanting to feel her touch.
She whimpered externally, but was seething internally, not appreciating his actions in front of all of these people.
Three private physicians of the Gambino family walked in, not stunned to see the scene in front of them.
Working for the Gambinos, they have seen all kinds of stuff.
The sight of the doctors made Veronica visibly pale. Deep down, she knew her act was up.
“Who are they?!” Veronica screeched, “I want all of these people out of my apartment right now!”
“Oh stop with the dramatics you stupid whore.” Sage complained while she rolled her eyes.
Rámon looked at Sage, not expecting her mouth or rowdy actions, considering Sage wasn’t the fighting type—nor Rowan.
They must have really loved Caterina to act like this, he thought to himself.
“Settle down.” Rámon demanded as he glared at Veronica, not showing her an ounce of sympathy “I brought them here so they will stay.”
“Why?!” She yelled back, knowing she was so screwed.
“Because they’re here to do a paternity test.” Rámon advised, “I need a second opinion to make sure you are really carrying my son.”
Sage scoffed out, finding this whole situation ridiculous.
“You broke my best friends heart over a w***e who may not even be carrying your child!” She raised her voice, taking the tension in the room to new heights.
Rámon winced at her words, feeling ashamed.
“You gotta be one huge f*****g i***t to ruin your life over this w***e!” Sage yelled out as she pointed towards Veronica.
“f**k you!” Veronica argued, wanting to defend herself and her character. “I will f*****g kill you.”
Veronica lunged for Sage, but Sage saw it coming and grabbed a hold of her hair before pulling her to the ground again.
Vinny pulled Sage back, breaking them up.
“Enough!” Vinny roared, “Everyone needs to f*****g calm down.”
Sage stopped fighting and tried to calm her heavy breathing. Before she knew it, tears were streaming down her face.
“I can’t believe you made my friend run away over a child that may not even be yours.” She cried out, feeling so much pain for her best friend. “How could you do this to Caterina?!”
Rámon dryly swallowed, not knowing what to say.
Sage pushed away from Vinny and charged Rámon before hitting him in his chest and taking all of her anger out on him.
“You bastard!” She yelled as she continued hitting him. “You broke her! You f*****g broke her!”
Rámon didn’t stop her, he just let her hit him. He knew he deserved it and every word she said to him was valid.
Sage finally lost strength and buried her face into Rámon’s chest as she cried her heart out. Rámon wrapped his arms around her and comforted her.
She wanted to push him away, but she had no strength left.
She was exhausted.
“You need to fix this.” Sage demanded as she pulled back and wiped her tears, “If you don’t fix this and bring my friend back, I swear I will make your life a living hell!”
That was a promise—a promise that Rámon didn’t want to come true.
“I will be your Donna very soon.” Sage promised, “I don’t want to have to make you suffer, but I will.”
Rámon nodded his head, heeding her warning.
Sage turned back towards Vinny, giving him a perfect view of her puffy and red-rimmed eyes.
“Let’s go, Vin.”
He pulled her into his arms and kissed her head before walking her out. Rowan joined them and followed behind them as they made their way downstairs.
Rámon turned towards the doctors, giving them instructions.
“Take your samples. I want to know the results as soon as possible.” He advised, “Also, check on the baby and make sure it’s okay.”
Even though he knew Veronica deserved the beat down Sage and Rowan just gave her, he still wanted to make sure the baby was okay.
He did still have a heart after all.
The doctors nodded their heads before setting their equipment up and taking their samples. Veronica resisted every step of the way but Rámon’s men restrained her and gave her no chance to get out of this.
Next, the doctors took samples of Rámon’s DNA before safely packing everything away. They checked on the baby and advised that he was fine—nothing to worry about.
“Give us a couple of hours and we will have the results ready for you.” One of the doctors informed, making Rámon’s heart race.
He nodded his head before seeing them out.
Once they left, he turned his attention over to Veronica.
“You better pray that the child is mine, or else you will suffer in the worst possibly way.” Rámon threatened, making Veronica fear for her life.
He looked towards his men. “Tie her to the bed and make sure she doesn’t have her phone or any other electronics that will give her a chance to contact anybody on the outside.”
His men’s swiftly grabbed Veronica before dragging her to the bedroom and tying her to the bed.
Rámon stood in the doorway, watching her scream and pull at her restraints.
Just in a couple of hours, he would know his fate.
All he needed to do was wait.
