Lexi tried the engine again, and this time it started up, though it sounded odd. “Looks like it’s holding.” “Great. Give me your phone really quickly, and I’ll add my number.” Lexi fumbled through her bag for a moment, looking for her phone, before she realized it was in her pocket. Rolling her eyes at her own silliness, she pulled it out, opened her contacts, and handed it over. He entered his number before handing it back. “I hope you don’t mind, but I sent myself a text so that I’d have your number, too.” “Good idea.” “Do you want me to follow you to make sure you get home okay?” “Thank you for offering,”
