Chapter Nine
Red was definitely Lexi’s color, and when she came to the door, Max had to catch his breath. She was wearing a different red dress than last time—and he supposed it was actually a skirt and top, but he was never very good with lady’s fashion—with red heels, and her lips were the same shade. The scent of lavender danced through the air as she smiled at him from inside what appeared to be a very nicely kept little apartment full of fall decorations.
“Hi,” was about all he could manage as he produced a bouquet of fall flowers. He was glad he’d worn a suit and tie since she clearly took the fact that this was a real date quite seriously dressed like that.
