Chapter 4
Kylian was busy reading the documents inside his office when a knock on the door distracted him.
Having no choice, he placed down the documents back on his table and leaned back in his swivel chair.
"Come in…" he shouted and the door open.
Walking in was his personal assistant. Alan came inside in a black suit. He looked elegant as he walked with poised and seriousness while holding a tablet in his hands.
He stopped right in front of his desk.
“Sir, you need to look at this,” Alan said as he handed the tablet from his hands on to Kylian which he immediately grabbed.
As soon as Kylian saw what was at the screen, a deep frown formed in his face. Looking at the scene at the video, he was sure that it was Daisy… and she was being held hostage.
He tried to calm himself down as to not panic and think more properly.
He looked up at Alan and asked, “Where is this and when did this happened?”
Kylian’s heart was beating so fast knowing that his twin sister was in great danger.
“Sir, it is happening inside a mall. It said that…”
Before Alan could even finish his storytelling, Kylian already stood up from his seat and grabbed his suit.
“Bring me wherever that is,” he urgently said as he grabbed his phone from the top of his table and walked passed Alan.
He was about to call his parents when his phone suddenly rang. He quickly swiped the answer button up to answer his mother’s call.
“Lian…”
His mother’s worried voice laced with cry was evident from the other end of the line. It sounded like she had many things to say, but none would come out of her mouth.
Knowing that his mother was near breaking down, he tried to calm her over the phone while still walking toward the elevator.
“Yes, Mom. I know… Calm down first, okay? Take deep breaths,” Kylian guided his mother.
“Lian, your sister. S-she…” his mother whispered.
The elevator dinged open and Kylian ran to the basement parking lot together with Alan.
“Yes, Mom. I saw the news. I am on my way now to the scene. Calm down, Mom. Daisy will be fine. I’ll be there.”
Though he knew that it was impossible to calm his mother down considering the situation, he still tried. He knew how much his mother love his twin sister so it’s impossible for her to calm in such dangerous moment.
Since they were young, his mother never wanted his sister to get hurt, not even a scratch. She always worry about her. He knew that his mother would go crazy if something bad would happen to Daisy.
As soon as they arrived in the mall, Alan parked the car at the nearest possible spot.
Kylian immediately saw an ambulance coming out of the mall premises and couldn’t help but look at it. On the other hand, Alan ran inside the mall.
Fazing out of his daze, he followed Alan but he was stopped at the entrance of the mall.
“Sir, your sister is already in the ambulance that’s heading to the hospital,” Alan reported after he talked to the firstliner paramedics at the scene.
As if coming to a tactic understanding, they just looked at each other before they both ran back to their car and followed the ambulance that passed by them earlier. Since they could hear the siren of the ambulance, they were able to follow them fast.
Kylian was very thankful that the road at this time was almost free from other cars. After all, it wasn’t rush hour.
It didn’t even took too long before they arrived at the hospital.
“I’ll go first,” he said to Alan as he got out of the car and followed the paramedics who brought Daisy inside the hospital.
“Sir, you can’t enter here.” One of the nurse stopped him when he tried to enter the operating room with Daisy.
With no choice, he stayed at the waiting room.
He was sitting outside with his fist clenched tightly at his side.He hated the fact that he couldn’t ask anyone about what really happened at the mall. No one could give him all the information of what happened.
After almost an hour, the doctor assigned to Daisy finally came out of the operating room.
Instantly, he stood up and approached the surgeon. "Doctor, how's my sister?"
"She's out of danger now, though she lost a lot of blood because of the injury she took from the incident. Unfortunately, we dont’ have a blood bank in here and…" the doctor informed him.
Knowing the severity of the situation, Kylian immediately suggested a feasible solution. “She is my twin sister. I think we have the same blood type. I can donate blood to her. You don’t have to take blood from anyone else.”
The doctor nodded in understanding. “Good, you can follow the nurse. She wull guide you.” The doctor said as he motioned toward the nurse that came out with him.
He did what the doctor said and came inside the room where Daisy was laying unconscious on the other bed.
Without wasting more time, they started the necessity procedures.
With his face look at the side, he stared at the beautiful face of his sister while holding her hand.
“Sis, I love you…” he whispered after he kissed the knuckles of her hand.
Surprisingly, Daisy slowly opened her eyes and whispered back, “I love you too, Lian. Please don’t leave me.”
Not reading too much into it, Kylian nodded his head. “I promise. I will not leave you. How are you feeling now?” he asked with concern as he tightened his hold on her hand, showing her that he would never let for and would always be there for her.
However, instead of answering his question, daisy just stared at him.
After a while, she asked him in a low voice, "How much do you love me Lian?"
