"The only people that can help you stop this war are your siblings, Krynsín is dangerous, You need to find the Alpha of the Night Howler's pack he is your brother. He will not know you, but he knows me well and he'll keep you safe. There are some other things that I must tell you, you will meet with someone who will help you along the way and you will have to make a great choice, so choose wisely. You will also come upon many Lethals, only fire magic can kill the thing as it's believed to be forged from fire." I couldn't read anymore, the more I read the more real it all became. I choked on my sobs as Karla slowly took the paper away from me, continuing. "There is something that you should know about the forest dear, DO NOT eat anything from it, they are most likely poisonous. If you get hungry you can eat the sweet-tasting Brotomic fruit, it is drenched in a peachy colour and looks like your ordinary berry. However, resembles the Kynery fruit, child. A deadly berry that will poison whoever eats it within half of an hour, if you do manage to eat it just eat a Rod... The rest of the words are smudged." Karla's brows furrowed with confusion, I took the piece of paper from her confirming her expressions. The words were indeed smudged as if someone had run their hands across the wet ink. At last, I broke down in tears, I just couldn't comprehend that she was actually gone. The Mother who knitted me sweaters for Christmas. The one who took care of me for nearly twenty years. "Oh, I'm so sorry Lav, I wish that it didn't have to be this way." Karla's eyes were wet with tears and her face burned a slight red. She pushed me under the shade of a plant to keep me away from the scorching sun and she embraced me, patting my back. I sunk onto the crunchy floor crying ugly tears and blaming the world for causing me such terrible pain. "Your mother's curse had no cure, but your's does, so I'm not going to let you waste it," Karla's arms laced underneath mine, picking me up off of the floor. She flew us through the mythical place trying to find the Night Howlers. After soaring through the forest and passing by never-ending trees, we both grew hungry. The sun's heat was heavily contrasted by angry grey clouds and the light rain that washed off the heat from the earth's surface. Karla headed towards a berry bush that she found picking off two ripe peach coloured berries and handing me one. There was something so familiar about the berry but I couldn't remember, the memory was at the tip of my tongue yet so far. My teeth sank into the delicious fruit. My mouth watered at the burst of different flavours that held my tongue hostage. Swallowing all of its sweet contents, I heard loud choking sounds coming from Karla. She had almost finished hers, sucking off her fingers from the delicious fruit. "Careful with the berry will you, or do you want to choke again?" My light laughter traveled through her ears but then she quickly pressed her hand against her throat coughing vigorously and dropping the fruit in the process. She fell to the floor, coughing up what appeared to be blood. "Karla!" My hands made quick work to spin her onto her belly, hitting her back trying to relieve her of what she was choking on. That's when my memory jogged. We must have eaten the Kynery fruit the very fruit mom warned us about. I quickly grabbed the note ripping it open for any mention of a cure but the words smudged at "Rod" and it said that she had half an hour to live. Karla's face grew swollen and her eyes became watery, She heaved at the poison trying to keep herself conscious for as long as possible. "What am I going to do!" I look around the forest screaming in fright as the same sprite boy looked directly at me, his hand pointing east before disappearing. "Wait! where are you going? Aren't you supposed to heal her!?" My shouting was in vain as the creature was long gone. I started to cry. I couldn't handle all the pressure of someone's life in my hands. I didn't want Karla to die! I just lost my mom, and she's the only good friend that I'll ever have. "Karla please don't die on me, please show me something that can save you, please!" Her breathing grew faint until her eyes fluttered shut. "K-Karla don't shut your eyes, no! Karla please, I can't!" The Sprite appeared once more I quickly shouted for him asking him to save her life but he only rolled his eyes before he dragged me up from my pool of tears and pointing east once more. I was confused, instead of treating my friend he was spending me off on some wild goose chase! "Why can't you help her?" The Sprite had no time to answer my questions as it vanished once more. I dried my tears and with all the hope that I've left, I struggled with Karla to where the sprite pointed. The heavy rain against our backs made it worse along with our luggage that I carried. The thunder rolled as the lightning struck, the scorching heat was no longer only heavy rain and the fertile forest. The tall trees offered no form of comfort as the angry wind nearly swept us off of our feet. My arms grew tired from carrying Karla and my tears spill tenfold. I couldn't stand the pressure at all. The sound of water crashing against some rocks had my eyes attention. I finally came upon a clearing where a narrow river flowed harshly down south. My eyes lit up at the revelation as I made quick work to make her drink the liquid of life. However, My actions froze as I heard loud growling. this wasn't the sound of Lethals, no, this growl was different and most likely dangerous. I just couldn't seem to catch a break. My entire body seized up as I felt hundreds of eyes on me, burning into my back and the growls grew louder. I slowly looked up to see three growling beasts towering my frame with saliva dripping from their hungry mouths. They looked like wolves but they were abnormally tall and large. They were on the other side of the river crossing it with heavy splashes, only three whose eyes felt like a million. I couldn't let Karla die but I was outnumbered and backed up into a corner. Their glowing amber eyes were nothing compared to the Ruby red eyes that chilled me to the spot. "This is it," My palms shook as I awaited my fate. I couldn't believe that I was going to die this way and poor Karla doesn't even deserve this. It's all my fault. Without realizing it, I went into a whole crying fit, losing all hope for the better and hugging beside my best friend. The animalistic growls and seized until they began to howl at my distress. The wolf whose body bathed in black fur and ruby red eyes signaled the others with amber fur and same shade hues with a nod of its head. All of them went behind trees until sick sounds of bones snapping out of place filled my ears. Soon, three people came out behind the trees, all in tank tops and shorts. The only person that had me taking a second look was the black wolf. His muscles showed his power and authority as they struggled to rip out of his tight tank top. His cold demeaning eyes held no room for discussion and his broad frame showed that he could fight the greatest warriors. His diamond-sharp jaw was complimented by his tan, Auburn skin and his long, silky, black hair that flowed way past his narrow waist in elegant waves. His ruby eyes looked onto my verdant eyes before my eyes drifted to the boy Sprite behind him who smiled in relief before disappearing once more as if he was the one between a rock and a hard place. "Take up the girl and bring her to the infirmary. By the smell of it, she only has two minutes left to live. I'll speak to this one." The order on his voice held no room for error, he proved that he could have my head decapitation within minutes as his adam's apple bobbed in wait. I felt Karla being lifted off of my frail body and into the river. "Who are you and what see you doing in my territory" I knew that if I answered his question incorrectly or raised the slightest bit of suspicion that I would be in grave trouble. However, I've studied the man-beast enough to guess that he was just the person that I was looking for, he was definitely my brother from the identical hair that he and my dad share. The real question was, will my answer satisfy him?
