Chapter 8

1228 Words
Helena gives Victoria company while she is dealing with the people on the wine tasting. They became comfortable with each other. Helena’s wit made Victoria smile a lot and made her night lighter than she expected. When it comes to parties, she is not a person for it. She hates being in the crowd of people. But because her father is a big name in business, she got used to it in time and she is the only one that her father counts on. “Can you wait for me here? I’ll just say goodbye to my father.” She told Helena. The latter agreed. She looked at her while she walked to her father on the other side of the room with other guests. She saw her smile to everyone and then slowly went near her father and whispered something. The old lad nodded and she kissed him goodbye. While Helena is looking at her every move, she feels happiness inside her heart. Victoria gives her this butterfly in her stomach. Before Victoria reached her, she emptied her glass of wine and slowly put her glass on top of the table. “So?” She asked. “Ready to go. Do you want to come with me somewhere or I will bring you home?” Victoria asked her back. “No. I can go home by myself.” “But, can you come with me somewhere first?” Helena shrugged her shoulders. “Come on!” Victoria didn’t make an effort to convince her. She dragged her into her car and drove off. “Wait, where are we going?” Helena is curious. “Just sit and relax okay? I will not harm you.” She jokingly replied. Helena smiled very widely. Wherever they will go, she wants to go with her. She’s curious about Victoria and also she wants to know if everything she heard about her is true. The car stopped at a bar not too far from where they came from. “We are here! Come on! Just free drinks and then I will bring you home.” Victoria told her and then went out of the car. Helena followed her obliquely. Victoria knows the owner of the restaurant. He greeted them upon entering the establishment. “Hello Simone! How are you?” She greeted him with a kiss on his cheek. “I am good! Good to see you here again. How’s Cedrick by the way?” “He is doing good. He is busy at work, that is why I came along with my friend here. By the way, she’s Vla’s friend.” She turned to Helena. “This is Helena.” She introduced her to Simone. Simone is the friend of Cedrick from highschool. They are good friends and they treat each other like siblings. Everytime Victoria goes to the bar, she always gets the best seats. “Well, nice to meet you. Come! I will show you to your table.” The two followed him. After having their table, Victoria immediately ordered two margaritas. There is a brief silence. “So, how was it to be a sommelier?” Victoria broke the silence. “Well, I love it. And I like drinking wine and also the smell of it. I feel so relaxed everytime i put the tip of my nose on a glass of wine. The different flavors from it. Aaahhh! It’s just refreshing.” She explained. “It’s a tough job right? You have to be precise on everything. I wonder how you do it.” “Some say it’s a gift to have this strong sense of smell and taste and also I enjoy what I do.” “That’s the best part of it. Enjoy what you do.” “How about you? Are you enjoying what you are doing? I mean, your job?” Victoria paused. She sipped a bit of her margarita before she answered. By that gesture, Helena already knew that what Val told her about her sister is true. She is not happy with what job she has. “Well, I am!” She lied “I am happy because the company is growing and my father is also happy.” “How about your happiness?” She sipped on the glass again. “If my father is happy then I am happy too. And besides, I have a loving and supportive husband, that’s the best part of me. Work and marriage are all on the same track.” She’s being so defensive now. “Okay. Okay. I will not argue about it anymore. Cheers!” Helena offered a toast just to change the topic because she felt like she was attacking her with her questions. While they were sitting there and drinking their glasses of Margarita, the phone rang. It’s Cedrick. “Hello, honey! How are you?” That’s what she asked the first thing she answered. “I am good. Where are you?” “I am at Simone’s bar with a friend. Are you home?” “No, honey. That’s why I called to tell you I will be coming home very late. Don’t wait for me okay? I have to finish something.” “Again?” “Sorry, honey. I will make it up to you next time, okay?” “Okay, hon. Then see you tomorrow?” “Yes! See you! I love you.” “I love you too.” After the call finished, she turned back to Helena. “I’m so sorry. I have to get that.” “Not a problem at all. How long are you married?” She asked. “Just a few months.” “How’s your married life? I mean, what is the feeling of being married?” “Oh, it’s wonderful though a lot of adjustments too. But it paid off. Luckily, my husband is a cool guy. The only thing is that he is very workaholic.” “At least he works hard not working hard with ladies!” Helena jokingly replied. Victoria laughed at her. “He will try or else I will cut his tail.” She answered sarcastically too. They enjoyed the company of each other. They did not even see how time flies so fast. They also drank 3 glasses of margarita each. Talking to each other like they have known each other for so long. But the night is over. They have to go home. “I will bring you home okay.” Victoria told Helena while they were walking to her car. “Are you sure? Seems like you cannot drive anymore.” Victoria grinned. “Don’t be silly! I am still fine. Let me drop you home.” “No. I am fine. Just go home and I will call a grab for myself. Do not insist, please.” “But Itold Bal that I Will bring you home.” “It’s really fine, Victoria. I can manage.” She saw the car of Victoria. She opened the door of the driver’s seat. “Until next time again.” Helena hugged her and kissed her on the cheek. “Okay, fine! Until next time.” Victoria drove off while Helena looked at her car until it was gone. She smiled and remembered how she felt on her body and her smell.
