Chapter 9

Victoria felt the alcohol in her body. Luckily, she is home from having a drink with Helena. She loves the company of the latter because she can ride her nonsense and also she can make her laugh. But now, she needs to clean herself and go to bed. She needs to go to work tomorrow as always. She is happy that their wine tasting went well even though Cedrick is not there to support her.

Before heading to bed after her shower, she goes to the kitchen to drink some water. While she’s drinking the water, her phone rings.

“Hello, hon!” It was Cedrick in the other line checking on her.

“Did you have fun with your friend?” He asked.

“Ah, yeah! She’s so much fun to be with and also a smart girl.”

“That’s cool! So maybe now, you have to take a rest and see you tomorrow.”

“Okay, hon. See you tomorrow. I love you!”

“I love you even more, Vicky!” He lovingly replied and hung up. Victoria smiled. She’s so lucky to marry a man like Cedrick. She can tell herself now that marrying him is the best choice and she won’t regret it. He’s a supportive husband and he respects and loves her 100%.

After the call and drinking coffee, she decided to hit the bed. It will be a long day tomorrow. While she’s doing her face routines before bed, a message pops from her phone. She picked up her phone and opened the message.

“Are you home? I hope you are safe. Please, answer me if you do so I can sleep tight. It’s Helena.” The message.

“Hello, Helena. I am very safe at home and now ready to go to bed. You can now sleepwell. By the way, are you okay? Are you home too?” Victoria’s reply to the message.

After a while, her phone beeps again for another message.

“I am relieved. Sorry I had to ask your phone number to Val. Well then, sleepwell Vicz. Good night.” Helena added a sleeping emoji at the end of her message.

After a few seconds, another message.

“Sorry Vicz but I enjoyed your company today. I hope we can meet again next time. And you can call me if you are free anytime.”

Victoria smiled at the message. Sometimes, Helena is being so chatty but she likes that.

“Okay. Good night. And I also enjoyed today. See you.”

Helena is smiling while she’s reading the answer from Victoria. She’s like a teenager receiving a message from her crush. She cannot contain her happiness. It’s the first time in a while she felt this after her break-up with her ex girlfriend. Yes! Helena is gay. Everybody knows about her sexuality. It is not a secret to everyone. She preferred to be out than hiding it and not comfortable.

It was a hard break up from her ex girlfriend. Valerie knows the story and she helped her to move on. If not because of Valerie, she is still dwelling from the break up up till now. For a gay person, the hardest to accept is veing left by the person you love from another gay person. For her, it’s easier to accept if she left her to a man. But that is already the past, her present is now and now, she is happy and moved on.

She thinks that her heart is ready again for another love. But she never thought that it would be Victoria. It’s not possible and also it’s not right. Besides that, she’s the sister of Valerie, her best friend, she is also straight. She will never be in love with a woman like her. And the impossible is that she is a married person.

Suddenly, a knock on her door wakes her up. She slowly gets out of bed to see who it is. She peaks on the peeping hole and to her surprise, it’s Victoria holding a bottle of wine.

“What is she doing here?” She asked herself. She tried to check if she looked just fine before opening the door.

“Hello. What brings you here?” She asked Victoria.

“Can we have a drink? I cannot sleep so I decided to come here. Can I?” She slid herself asking if she could go in.

“Oh, of course! Come.”

Victoria entered the house and went straight to the dining table not too far from the entrance. Helena’s house is not that big for one person. Upon entering the house, you first see the dining area and then the living room and her room beside the living room.

After closing the door, she exhaled deep before walking to Victoria.

“Wait here.” She told Victoria and then she went straight to the kitchen cabinet to get glasses for the wine. She is happy that Victoria is here with her.

Before opening the wine, Helena looks at it first. It is an expensive wine. Chateau Latour may cost thousands of dollars.

“Are you sure we drink this?” She asked Victoria with a grinning face.

“Of course! Why not?”

“It’s just too expensive, you know.”

“Ooh, don’t bother. I want to drink it with you so please.” Victoria insisted on opening it so she didn’t have a second thought.

After opening the bottle, she poured it in the wine glasses. She gave Victoria the other glass.

“Cheers!” Victoria said and sipped her wine. It is a good wine for sure. And the taste, Helena loves it. She asked Victoria to sit on the coach. She obliged. She followed while carrying the wine and her glass on the other hand.

They sat side by side on Helena’s coach while drinking and chitchatting. They talked about work and about wine. They lost track of time and also they have the last glass of the wine.

“Thank you for coming.” Helena told her. She looked at her in the eyes. Victoria smiled.

“Thank you for welcoming me and drinking with me.” She answered with a stammering voice. “Oops!” She covered her mouth and giggled.

By that time, Helena knew that she was drunk.

“Are you okay?” She asked while she laughed with her.

“Yes! Yes! I am. I guess I have too much alcohol.” She answered while she kept on giggling.

“I guess you will stay here with me for the night. I cannot drive and you definitely cannot drive.”

“Oh no! I can drive Helena, don’t worry.”

“Are you sure?”

“Yes! I am very sure.”

She is so sure about herself but upon standing, she cannot even stand properly. She slammed herself on the coach, luckily Helena caught her.

“See? I told you , you cannot.”

Victoria giggled again while she helped herself up to sit. “Okay. Okay. You won.”

“Come, I will bring you to bed so you can sleep comfortably.”

She tried to carry her but Victoria suddenly pulled her to her. Helena fell just right on top of Victoria. Their eyes met. Helena felt the warmth of Victoria’s body against her. Victoria’s arms are around her like a hug.

“I guess you have to go to sleep.” Helena told her while her face is just a few inches away. She can smell her breath and she can feel her warm breath too. Their eyes stick to each other.

“Helena.” Victoria said softly while looking at her eyes. “Can I kiss you?” She added.

Helena felt her heart pound upon hearing those words. That is what she wants too. Kiss her and feel her lips into hers. Helena didn’t answer, else she slowly lowered her face and gently touched her lips onto hers. Their lips touched each other.

Victoria closed her eyes while they kissed each other. She answered the soft kiss of Helena. She felt her heart pound and her whole body froze. But she wants more of it.

Helena kissed her even deeper. She tastes her lips and she slowly moves her body against her. And then she felt the hand of Victoria on her legs up to her thigh. But suddenly a phone rings.

The phone is just so loud that she even jumped off the bed.

“f**k!” She murmured. No Victoria beside her and she is in bed not in the coach. It’s just a dream.

She rolled her eyes before answering the phone. It was Valerie.

“Hey girl! What’s up?” She asked her lively.

“I just want to check on you if you are home. How's my sister dear?”

“It was great!” She answered. “It is really great but you ruined my dream!” She said it to herself so Valerie won’t hear it.

“That’s cool! So see you tomorrow?”

“Yes! See you.”

She hung up and threw the phone beside her while she lay in bed again. Her eyes on the ceiling trying to recall the dream. She smiled to herself. It seems like the reality. She can feel on her lips how she tastes and how soft Victoria’s lips are. One thing is for sure now, she likes her and she wants to know more about her more.
