Secret Love

Chapter Seven

When I look back, he stops on his track before realising what happened. A smile was then shown before he ran after me and not long after, he manage to catch up and tried grabbing the hat. I tried my best to keep it away from him but I accidentally twisted my ankle, making both of us fall on a slight hill grass.

We rolled down the hill and when we finally stop, I was on top of him. My hair fell down like a curtain around him. By now I could feel my heart beating like a drum and butterflies were going crazy inside my belly.

That's when I finally realise that I was slowly falling in love with him. I don't know how but it was just happening. Call me crazy but you can't stop what you're feeling right?

"Mummy look they're making babies!" A child shouted and it brought me back to reality.

"I-I'm so sorry…" As soon as I get up, I immediately fell down again because of my sprained ankle.

This time, Simon caught me and he had a worried face on.

"You okay?" He asks.

"N-no, I sprained my ankle." I replied.

"Tch. Clumsy Bastard." He commented and I was about to protest but was cut off when he started carrying me in a Bridal style way.

"H-hey! You don't need to carry me like this." My face flushed in embarrassment and I buried it in his chest.

He chuckled a little bit and the vibration felt good in my ears.

"I-I'm serious, I'm just fine." I whispered then looked up to him to see him smiling at me.

"Someone clumsy as you is not fine to stand up after spraining ankle. I don't want you getting run over because of your clumsiness." He winked and I playfully rolled my eyes.

"I am a Stronghold and I am a fighter thank you very much."

Soon we made it back to his house and he immediately took care of my ankle. He wrapped it with bandages and checked if it was fine.

"Looks fine, just don't overdo work." He suggested and I nod. "Library is next on your job, let's go."

He grabbed my wrist and I let him lead me to the library. When we got there, he forced me to sit down while he does the cleaning.

"You know, I feel useless when you're doing all the work for me." I said bluntly and he glanced over his shoulder.

"It's fine, you useless anyway." He smirks and I rolled my eyes.

"Whatever."

While he was cleaning, I saw a book that caught my eye but it was at the top shelf where you need to use a ladder. I stood up and started climbing the ladder until I got the book that I saw. It was The Maze Runner, my favourite book. I always wanted to read the story before watching the movie.

As I was climbing down, I missed a step and started falling down. I waited for the impact of the ground but instead of the cold, hard floor, I landed on something soft. I opened my eyes and was met with a grey one.

"I thought I told you to be careful!" He said while putting me down.

"Sorry, I saw this and wanted to have a look at it." I showed him the book and he puts it down the ground.

"You could have hurt yourself!" He was still worried and I laugh.

"I'm fine, I promise." I reassure him and he sigh.

"Clumsy Bastard." He huff and I laugh again.

Didn't know that he can be cute as well, I'm lucky I met a friend like him

So basically Simon did all the work for me today and all I did was sat down the whole day. I told him that I will still to my work but he won't even let me stand up from my chair without his permission. The time went fast that I didn't realise it was 9 pm.

"It's almost home time." I told Simon and he nods.

"I have done all your job so in return, do something fun. You still have one more hour." He said and I sigh.

"You know I could still work, my ankle is fully healed." I stated and he just shrug.

I tried thinking of something to do then widen my eyes as I remember that there's always Carnival this time of the year. I remember that me, my brother and Jake always goes there twice a week.

"Are you allowed to leave the house this time of the night?" I ask him and he raise an eyebrow.

"Of course, why?" He replied.

"Come with me!" I pulled his wrist and started walking but stops because I still don't memorise my way around the house.

"What the problem?" He questioned and I rubbed the back of my neck.

"Erm... I don't know where the exit is." I said shyly and he shook his head.

"Tch." He playfully rolled his eyes and I saw a smirk on his face, which made me smile secretly.

"Good evening sir Simon." The guard at the door bowed as we past by and he was shock when he saw me with Simon.

We continued on walking until we got to where they park their cars and let's just say that they have more than 100 different type of cars. Simon lead me to a black Ferrari car and opened the door for me.

"Whoa..." My mouth drop as I scanned each car for they all are the most expensive and popular car.

"You coming in or what?" Simon interrupted me from admiring the cars and I sigh.

I sat at the passenger's seat and he closed the door for me, then he sat at the driver's seat.

"Give me direction." He said and it was enough for me to understand what he was saying.

The guards opened the gate and Simon drove pass them at full speed. Me on the other hand wasn't use at the speed so I held whatever I could hold inside the car.

"Haha! Your face!" He laughed at my reaction and I gave him a straight face which he just smirk at me.

After his laughter died down, he slowed down and I relaxed a bit.

"I'll get you back." I murmured and he scoff.

"Let's see about that." I look to him and saw his eyes smiling which made my heart skipped a beat.

"Oh you better watch out." I said confidently and smirk.

"Sure sure." And with that, he fasten up the speed of the car and once again, I tried to hold on to something and closed my eyes.

When I felt him slowing down, I opened my eyes just to see myself holding his hand. His face was blushing and my heart racing again. I let go of his hand then look at my side of the window without saying anything.

Soon, we finally made it to the Carnival and memories flash back to my mind. I look at Simon and it look like this was his first time here. I then look at my cash and I calculated that it was enough for a few rides and things to buy.

The first thing that caught my eye was the pink cotton candy. I pointed at the place then grabbed Simon by the wrist and we both ran there.

"Two please." I ask nicely and the seller gave us two cotton candy then smiled.

"That would be ten dollars." He said and I gave him the exact amount.

"Thank you!" I cheered as I took the cotton candy and gave one to Simon.

"Here." I said and he took it, but just stared at it.

"Uhhh... you take a piece..." I demonstrate it to him. "Then put it in your mouth like this."

He did the same as me and as soon as the cotton candy was place in his mouth, his eyes sparkled and widen a bit. This scene made my heart skipped a beat because of how cute he was.

"Yummy isn't it?" I ask him and he nods.

After we finish our cotton candy, I bought two quadruple scoop of ice cream with four different types of flavour. And after that, we tried some rides that was chosen by me but it seems like I was the only one who was enjoying it.

"Do you like any ride at all?" I ask him as we sat down to a seat.

"No." He replied bluntly and I pout.

"Then do you want to try any rides at all?" I once again ask.

"Maybe. But you always choose." He gave me the face of 'Isn't it obvious?'

"Fine, this time, you choose. Any ride at all." I said and he have this evil smirk on his face.

"Really?" He ask and now I wish I didn't agree.

"Really...?" I reluctantly agreed and he pulled me by the wrist then drag me to somewhere.

"I want that." He pointed at something and when I followed it and when I saw what he was pointing at, the colour on my face instantly disappeared.

The Hunted House...

"Uhh... can we go to another ride? Any thing but not that one." I said and the big hunted house creak for the sound effect.

"No. You said I choose and I choose that." He said and I sigh.

"F-fine." I sigh in defeat and I saw his smirk.
