"H-hem." Me and Simon both looked at the right to see the source of the fake cough.
"You two seems to be having fun. Mind if I borrow her for a few minutes Si?" It was Shane.
I gave the hat back to Simon and he started walking away.
"Do whatever." He grumbled in annoyance as he return on washing the dishes. "I finish this. Borrow her five minutes."
And with that, Shane motioned me to follow him which I did. I took one last look at Simon and saw him secretly glancing at me, which made me smile.
I followed Shane to a room, which I assume was his room and he opened the door for me then motioned me to go in first, which I obeyed. As soon as I got in, he closed the door behind then face me.
I wonder why he needs me
I saw movement from my right then it happened so fast that I didn't see it coming. Five people are now in the room. Shane, Stella, Danielle, Trisha and Ralph.
"So..." Danielle trailed off then walked towards me, causing me to walk backwards until I trip over but luckily, the bed caught me.
"What deal did you made to make Simon help you at cooking?" She continued and I was confused at the moment.
For a moment there, I thought they were going to eat me.
"W-what?" I stutter.
"Oh come on Sarah, just tell us what deal did you two make? Usually he doesn't or help someone to cook unless the person is important to him or has a meaning to him or then person make a deal with him. Knowing that you're just new here, I assume that you made a deal with him. What deal was it?" She explained and I got it all collected now.
"Also he doesn't really like interacting with other people even us and this was the first time in so many years that he cooked for the family again. Don't forget he even communicated with us." Shane said.
They meant the 'fun' that I have to teach Simon while he helps me with my chores.
"So tell us what it is or we're gonna have to do this the hard way." She added.
"Well I just have to teach him how to have fun and in return, he would help me with my chores so we could have more free time." I answered honestly and they all blink a few times before they got what I said... I think?
"Oh... I didn't expect you to say it immediately." Danielle backed away which relieved me.
"It's your turn now then." She said.
And then Shane stepped forward and look me in the eye.
"Next question, what do you think of Simon?" He ask me and I felt my face heating up.
"W-w-what d-do you m-mean by that?" I stutter and I curse myself for it.
Simon's POV
After I finished washing the dishes, I look at the time and it was 10:05 am. It had been five minutes since Sarah had left and she hasn't come back yet. I waited for her for a few more minutes before deciding that I will search for her. Ten minutes and there's still no sign of her.
Where could she be?
Without wasting any more time, I walked around the house to look for her until I heard voices in Shane's room.
Who's he talking to?
"Next question, what do you think of Simon?" I heard Shane ask and I widen my eyes.
Why are they talking about me?
"W-what d-do you m-mean by that?" This voice came from Sarah.
At that moment, I held my breath, waiting for her to respond. And at the same time, the time seems to go slow.
What am I doing? Why am I eavesdropping? I have never in my life do it before so why am I doing it now? This isn't usually me!
Before I could hear what Sarah has to say, I felt a presence behind me.
"Are we eavesdropping now?" The person I hate the most ask.
I turned around and face him with no emotion. Now I'm mad for not hearing what Sarah replied.
Wait, why do I even care?
"Jericho." I lowly growled and a smile creep up to his face.
"Simon." He sneered.
We had a staring competition and the tension around the room is so dark.
I've always hated him. In fact, everyone hated him. I don't get it why my father adopted him. Before something could happen, the door from Shane's room opened.
"Oh, am I interrupting something?" Shane asked and looked from me to Jericho then back to me and back to him.
"No." I bluntly replied before I saw Sarah come out of the room with a blush on her cheek.
Without further ado, I walked to her and grabbed her by the wrist and was about to walk away but she stopped. I look back and saw Jericho holding her other wrist.
"Where are you taking my Love?" He licked his lips as he ask that question.
"She ain't your Love." I was now in rage "Let. Her. Go!"
"Why don't you let her go?" He was trying to annoy me even more. "You already had a time with her so now it's my turn."
Sarah's POV
I have no idea what was happening but I'm getting pulled her like a tug of war.
"Hey guys! You're hurting her!" Shane came to my rescue and both of the boys were looking at me.
What's going on?
In the end, Jericho lets me go and I heard Simon scoff before he pulled me away from the others.
"Next time I won't let her go!" Was the last sentence we heard from Jericho.
When they disappeared from sight, Simon let my wrist go and faced me but since he was walking so fast earlier and just stop without a warning, I bump into his chest.
I look up he was blushing. We stared from each other's eyes for I don't know how long before I regain my composure.
"What was that about?" I ask him and it looks like he just came back from reality.
"What you have next?" He avoided my question by asking another question.
I gave him a poker face before answering his question.
"Well it is now 10:15 and my next chores won't start at 12:00 so... I have less than two hours of free time." I said while looking at my job-lists.
"Now teach me fun." He commanded with no emotion and I tried to think of something that could be fun.
I then remembered that there was a Timezone that was only fifteen minutes walk from here.
"We should go to the Timezone, it's one of the best places where teenagers like us go." I told him and grabbed his wrist but stopped since I didn't know where the exit was. "Umm… do you know where the exit is?"
"Tch. Dumb Bastard. We'll take my car." He shook his head in disappointment and I just shrug.
"No, we will walk you lazy Bastard." I finally had revenge and he gave me a confuse look.
It took us exactly fifteen minutes to get to the Timezone and I let Simon looked around first before taking him to the Basketball stand.
"So this is called Basketball and all you have to do is shoot the ball on the hoop." I explained to him and got my Gold card out.
Me and my brother would always go here almost everyday when we don't have school before and that explains why I have Gold card. I even have more than 10,000 tickets waiting to be purchased but I didn't know what to buy it for so I just saved it for now.
"So we just shoot the ball on the hoop?" He questions.
"Yep and there's a time limit on it." I replied then grinned. "How about you verse me and the winner gets to order the loser around for a whole day?"
"Deal." A spark was shown in his eyes and I knew that he was getting excited as well.
And the game begins. I tried getting a shot but sometimes misses. On the other side, Simon mostly got the hoop but misses from time to time. On the first round, I won. Second round he manage to catch up and the final round it was I who won.
"Yay!" I cheered in victory while puffing.
It was obvious that he got tired as well but he didn't show it. We went for another round and it felt like it's only the two of us playing inside the Timezone. The next thing we did was Bowling. This time he won.
Then we played Kill the zombie, How many T-rex can you kill, How hard can you smash, Dartboards, Ping Pong and many more.
"So was that fun?" We were now walking back at his house while having an ice cream.
"I guess it was." He replied and I raised an eyebrow.
"You guess? Timezone is one of the place where you can forget your worries and just play a game you know." I gave him an obvious look and he just shrugged.
"I prefer something bigger."
"Choosy, just admit that you had at least felt a little bit of fun." I playfully punch him and he chuckled.
"Alright alright, it was fun okay?" He smiled at me and I felt my heart racing again.
At that moment, an idea popped in my mind. I went on my tippy toe and grabbed his hat then started running away.
"Catch me if you can!" I shouted, not giving him a time to catch me.
