Secret Love

Chapter Two

When I pulled away, his cheek was blushing which I don't know why.

"S-stupid, don't do that again." He turned his face the other way while scratching his cheek.

"Alright, I'll ask him now so wait here." I nodded and watch him as he ran away back to his home.

Not long after, he returned with a grin plastered on his face.

"Good news! He already called Leo and he said that you'll have an interview tomorrow at 10:00am!" He announced and I was really happy so I again hug him.

"O-oi! W-what are you d-doing?! I said don't hug me again!" He stutters and I giggled at his reaction.

"Awww, I didn't know you can be this cute?" I teased him and he playfully rolled his eyes.

Come to think of it, I always forget my worries when I'm around him. Whenever the earth wants to eat me, Jake is always there to pull me back up.

"S-shut up." I giggled at his reaction and thanked him once more before going back at my house.

I ran home and told my mum about the news and she was happy for me. Although she was a bit worried.

"Come on mum, I'm seventeen years old! I can do this." I reassure her and she sigh.

"It's just, our baby is all grown up." She caress my hair and I hugged her.

"Mum, I promise you that I'll be fine. Beside, I'm not a baby anymore once I turn two years old." I explain to her and she laugh.

"Whatever you say, you will always be our baby." She hugged me and I hugged her back.

"Anyways mum, I need to go to sleep because I'm going there early tomorrow." I pulled away and she nods.

"I will pray that you will have the job."

"Thanks mum."

It was the first time that I slept early. Normally I would stay up late until 3am with my brother. Unfortunately, he wasn't here and he needs my help right now so I will do my best to get the job.

"I am Sarah Stronghold and I am a fighter!" I told to myself before falling to sleep.

The next day, I woke up at 8am and was excited for the interview.

"Finally, I'm going to be able to help my brother this time! I could be useful to him at once!" I told to no one.

I did my daily routine and wore a neat and tidy clothes. A long white sleeve that look like a uniform and tight jeans. I put my hair into a ponytail and wore my doll shoes. I put simple make up and finally, I was prepared. I bid my farewell to my parents and went to the address that Jake gave me to where Leo lives.

"Good luck my sweat-heart." My mum smiled.

It only took me fifteen minutes to walk there for it wasn't that far and I jaw-drop as soon as I saw their house, which looked like a castle. It had a big gate and there were two guards.

"Whoa, this is insane." I said to no one and walked towards the guards.

"Halt! State your name and business!" One of them said and I cleared my voice.

"My name is Sarah Stronghold and I am here for the interview sir!" I politely bowed and they let me in.

One of the guard went with me and showed me where the entrance of the castle was. My mouth was still opened wide and in my imagination, it would just fall down if I kept widening it. I still couldn't believe that Jake's dad's friends will be this rich. I mean, I don't even know who this Leo is.

"Beautiful right?" The guard ask and I nod my head. "You'll be lucky if you get accepted as a maid here. Well, you'll be accepted anyway."

Yeah, very lucky

"Wait, what did you just say?" I question him.

"Nothing." He replied but I was pretty sure I heard what he said that I'll be accepted anyway.

I just ignored him and continued looking around. Not much longer, he showed me the entrance and when I went inside, let's just say that my jaw drop for real this time. Nah, just kidding.

The guard showed me the living room and it looked like a royal family lives in it.

"Now you just sit here and wait for the boss." The guard instructed and I nod.

I sat on the couch and bounce on it because it felt like you were sitting on a cotton candy cloud.

So soft!

It was really comfy and I never want to leave. Soon, I heard a soft laugh and looked up to see who it was.

"You must be Sarah Stronghold." A handsome man who looks like in his 20's said and sat at the opposite side of me.

"U-um... y-yes sir!" Since I don't know him, I'll just show my respect because I don't know anyone in this house.

"No need for formalities, you could just call me Leo." The man genuinely smile, which I returned it.

No way! He's the boss! He's the Leo that Jake was talking about! So handsome and nice! Keep it together Sarah, you don't want to ruin your image in front of him!

"Anyway, it's a pleasure to meet you. I hope you'll enjoy serving here." He said and it took me a time to process his words until it finally hit me.

"Y-you mean..." I couldn't find the words to finish my sentence and he nods.

"Yep, Sarah Stronghold you're hired." He took the words that I want to say and I was over-whelmed with joy.

"Thank you thank you thank you thank you!" I repeated lots of times and he chuckled.

"Tomorrow you'll start at 8:00 am sharp till 10:00 pm. Now you could go home for now and have a rest." He said and I nod.

Leo's POV

After Sarah had left, I remembered what Jake did yesterday.

Flashback

I was about to leave because I had a meeting at my job but the guard, Haru came.

"Sir, Jake Francis wanted to see you." He said and I raise an eyebrow.

"I wonder what he want." I said my thought out loud while rubbing my chin.

"Should I let him in sir?" Haru ask.

"Of course, he's the son of my best friend Harold. Why wouldn't you let him in?" I slight laugh and he bowed politely.

"Yes sir!" And with that, he left.

"I wonder what he wants." I said to no one.

When he returned, Jake came in with his hands on his pocket and as usual, no emotion was shown on his face. It looks like he's been thinking of something that might be the end of his world.

"Ah, Jake my son, what brings you here?" I ask and he stop when he was three meters away from me.

"Well..." he trailed off while he search for words without making any eye contact with me. "I have this friends of mine and she needs a job." He continued and it kind of gives me an idea of what he wants.

He didn't continue for about two minutes and I could see that he's really trying hard to find the words for it.

"You want to give me this friend of yours a job?" I tried to guess what he wanted.

He widen his eyes as he look me into the eyes, he then lowered his head looking at the side and slowly nod his head. I slightly smile at the child's reaction.

"Tell me Jake, do you like this girl?" I questioned and his face blush.

"W-what?! L-like?! Pfft, d-don't tell jokes like that O-old man!" He stuttered and I chuckled. "What are you laughing at?"

"Nothing, say, why do you want me to help this girl?" I asked out of curiosity.

"Cause she needs money for personal needs." He replied.

"Alright then, what's her name?"

"Sarah Stronghold."

"Hmm, Fine, I'll give her a job but she has to be a maid." I rubbed my chin since we didn't really need a maid.

"Yeah yeah, at least it's still a job. Thanks anyway."

"Anytime." I already knew that he likes this Sarah.

End of Flashback

"Tsk tsk tsk, young love." I sigh and remembered my wife.

Simon's POV (Son of Leo)

I was walking around the house, not really know what to do until I heard someone talking in the lounge. It sounded like my father and Jake. They were talking about a job. I listened to their conversation until it get to the point where Leo ask Jake, of why the girl, who ever they're talking about, needs a job.

"Nothing, say, why do you want me to help this girl?"

"Cause she needs money for personal needs."

I widen my eyes and left annoyed, not really having an interest to listen to their conversation anymore.

"Tch, that's what all girls are. All they want is money! All girls are the same, they only needs money from the rich people and they're won't even be grateful if the people helped them a little. What they want is more more more! I'll never love a girl cause all they care is money!" I said annoyed.

Sarah's POV

I went home very happy and told my parents about the good news then I also told them that I'll go see Jake which they agreed. He was already in the forest waiting for me. Of course me being me, got super happy and ran towards him, putting him into an embrace without any warning. He was shock by my sudden action and tried to push me away.

"O-oi! S-stop that! Y-you stupid!" His face turned into the colour of the tomato, which made me giggled.

"You're red as a tomato!" I exclaimed and he blush even more.

"S-shut up!" He stuttered and I laugh even more.
