When It Snows

Chapter 6

After Eden finished getting ready, Eden immediately went to the office. During the trip, he began to remember the events of last night. Like when he was in the elevator, Eden remembered that he kissed someone, but he didn't remember who he was kissing, it was definitely a man. Then while he was in the taxi he remembered that he was leaning on the shoulder of the man he had kissed in the elevator. When he was in front of the office, as if he had truly woken up from his dream, Eden remembered the face of the man he had kissed and who most likely slept with him last night. Eden remembers that when he was out smoking after eating he saw Aaron and helped him then he took Aaron to the bar and it was Aaron who brought him back home.

Eden seemed to have been struck by lightning in broad daylight, he just stood in front of his office and looked at the sky which was so bright.  Eden remembers what he said to Aaron and last night's events but his memory stops when he caresses Aaron at the door.  Eden just stood in the same place stunned.  Eden inwardly screamed, "The professor that I wanted to sleep with instead f****d me.. No!!! Aah!!".

"What are you doing in front of here? you just block the way", said Tian who opened the office door and was about to leave.

"Hm, good morning", said Eden who entered the office after greeting Tian.

"Morning", said Tian who immediately left.

After entering the office, Eden was immediately greeted by Ryan who was already preparing to leave. Ryan pulled Eden to come out "Come on quickly, we've been waiting".

"Oi, wait a minute. Where are we leaving to? The case?" asked Eden, which was pulled by Ryan.

Ryan got into the car and started to explain the case he received while driving, "This morning Jia received a case report from the police, a corpse was found in the apartment in a rather unusual condition. And because of that, the case was assigned to us".

"Oh, was it bit by a vampire or was there a werewolf's claw marks?" asked Eden, who looked at the street that seemed familiar to him.

"They have said the corpse's hands and feet were tied but the body was found hanging like it's had hanged itself and the skin was also blistered," said Ryan explaining what he heard earlier.

"Oh wow, that's quite odd. What about the first discoverer of the corpse?" asked Eden, who increasingly felt that the road he was taking was indeed very familiar.

"I don't know, we can just ask the police who are on duty there," answered Ryan, who focused on the road.

Eden guessed that the location where the body was found was in the same area as Aaron's residence and to be more precise, it was in the same apartment building as Aaron's. Eden saw the police line that had been set up as a boundary, Eden immediately entered through the police line but a policeman on guard immediately stopped him.

"Only officers are allowed in!", said the policeman stopping Eden and Ryan.

Eden took out his wallet and showed his identity and made the policeman apologize instantly and withdraw to give way to Eden and Ryan, "Ah, I'm sorry, sir. Please come in".

Eden just patted the police officer on the shoulder and then entered the apartment, which immediately smelled a stench even though it was still faint, apart from a foul smell but also a scorched smell. Eden looked around and it didn't look like there were any signs of violence or fighting in the room, all things were still neatly arranged and looked like a normal place to live. When Eden saw the victim who was still dangling in front of the window, Eden immediately felt that the victim was not an ordinary human. Seeing that the window curtains were open and this window facing west would be directly exposed to the sun in the afternoon, Eden's mind immediately turned to the vampire.

"Ryan, take the victim's blood to check the DNA and see if he is a vampire or not," said Eden, who looked up and down at the victim's corpse and then looked around.

"Okay," said Ryan who did his task.

"The identity of the victim and the owner of this apartment, is it known, already?", asked Eden to the police who were beside him.

"Yes, here are the documents," said the police next to Eden who had prepared the data they had previously given to Eden.

Eden took it and said, "Okay, thank you. We will take over this case".

The policeman nodded and asked, "Is this the behaviour of a vampire? Recently, many people have reported it because their family or friends suddenly disappeared".

"You look interested in vampires, want to join me?" asked Eden jokingly but with a serious tone.

"Hah, no. The thought of running into extraordinary cases every time is quite scary", said the policeman before leaving to stand guard outside.

Eden went around the place very carefully, he not only focused on his sense of sight but Eden also focused on his sense of hearing and smell. Unexpectedly, Eden smelled the smell of a werewolf from one of the cupboards in the room. Eden put on his gloves and opened the cupboard. Ryan was behind him and recorded every move and evidence. Inside the cupboard was a leather jacket that looked like a leather jacket that had just come out of the dryer and was thrown straight into the closet.

Eden told Ryan to take the jacket and spread it out, the jacket size seemed smaller than the victim's body. Most likely, the jacket did not belong to the victim. Eden, who observed the leather jacket, found scratch marks on the sleeves of the leather jacket, although not very visible, the claw marks on the jacket looked much bigger than the claws of animals such as cats and dogs.

Eden took off his right glove and within seconds, his right hand turned into a werewolf hand with thick fur and sharp claws. Ryan immediately gasped and subconsciously walked backwards away from Eden. Eden saw it and laughed "Haha, are you scared? Come here quickly!".

Ryan looked away and immediately stepped closer to Eden, "I'm just startled, next time give me a signal".

"Okay, sorry. I instruct you to stand tall," said Eden, who positioned his claws on the jacket and sure enough, the claw marks on the leather jacket were very similar to Eden's claw position and claw size.

"Bring the corpse and let me know when the analysis is complete," Eden said to the head of the forensic team who came to see and analyze the victim's corpse and the area around the corpse.

"Okay, I'll call Jia later," said the forensic team leader who was grinning.

"Hah, haven't given up yet?" said Eden, waving at the team leader of the forensic team who had walked away.

Eden turned to Ryan and said, "You finished here and make a report, I'll go first".

"Oh, where are you going?", asked Ryan who was actually irritated.

"Date", Eden said curtly then he left after taking off the jacket and gloves he gave to Ryan.

Ryan was about to scream in annoyance and wanted to throw Eden's jacket, but Eden immediately stopped in front of the apartment door next to the victim's apartment. Eden immediately knocked on the door and his serious face immediately turned friendly. A smile seems to appear on his handsome face when greeting a man who opened the door, "Aaron, you're home? Can I have a little tea?".

Aaron looked left and right, saw the crowd from the next room and saw Eden who looked tired. Aaron opened the door wider and told Eden to come in.

"I didn't think that this world was so small that I found your room next to the murder scene," said Eden, glancing at Aaron who was making tea for him.

"I also didn't expect that this world is so small that I live next to the murder scene," said Aaron who smiled and placed the tea in front of Eden.

"You know this resident next to you?" asked Eden, who had been drinking his tea after that.

"No, I only met him once when I first moved here", said Aaron who was sitting back on the sofa, looking at Eden.

Eden looked back at Aaron and asked, "Moving? How long have you been living here?".

"Approximately 5 weeks. Look in there, there are still a lot of things that I haven't organized," said Aaron, pointing to his empty bedroom with boxes still scattered about.

Eden stood up from his seat and looked into Aaron's room where there was only a bed and a cupboard apart from that the rest were boxes that were still scattered about. Eden returned to the sofa and stared at Aaron then asked "How did you see the resident next to you?".

Aaron seemed to think before replying, "Hmm, I don't really remember it's just that at that time I met two people and I don't know who the real owner was".

"Two people? What are their characteristics and what did you hear or what did you feel when you lived here?" asked Eden who seemed to have found a clue.

Aaron smiled and said, "Are you interrogating me? Do you want me to be a witness? Shouldn't you provide the summons?".

Hearing Aaron's words, Eden stopped asking questions and went back to drinking his tea.
