When It Snows

In this world, there are three groups that are in the darkness and those in the light of the world. The three groups in question are 91% ordinary humans and the other two groups that are in the dark, 7% werewolves and 2% vampires. Thousands of years ago, vampires and werewolves became the rulers of civilization, but human development that was much faster than the other two species pushed the extinction of vampires and werewolves. The hunt for vampires and werewolves continues to occur on a large scale until leaving only a few of them. The surviving vampires and werewolves chose to hide from humans until after thousands of years, humans had forgotten the existence of the other species. Werewolves can coexist with humans and have offspring with humans, but vampires cannot have offspring, so the number of vampires continues to decline. Werewolves have a life span like humans while vampires have a very long life so that it can be said that vampires are immortal beings. In 1820 in a small European town, a young man stands before a blazing fire that devours the mansion in front of him. The sound of insults from the people around him no longer bothered him, his only thought was the image of his family, "Mother, Brother, Sister!!". The tears that flowed could no longer be stopped, only regret, hate, sadness, anger, resentment and despair remained. 1990 in a hospital in Canada, a mother is struggling to give birth alone without her husband accompanied until the sound of a baby's cry is heard, a boy has been born in this world and a great mother has to leave him alone in this scary world. In 2020 in a class, a young professor is giving learning materials to his students. Simultaneously, a chase took place around the campus between a police officer and a young boy with blood on his mouth. _ Eden Abelardo, a police officer who is the Chief of the Special Investigation Unit who specializes in dealing with problems or cases related to creatures other than humans, which are vampires and werewolves. This unit works in secret and is directly under the Ministry of Defense. This unit has been formed long ago to secretly handle cases of vampires and werewolves, this unit can also communicate directly with werewolf and vampire leaders. The agreement between humans, vampires and werewolves has been going on for hundreds of years to make peace and become the basis for the formation of the Special Investigation Unit. This unit has members who are not only humans but also vampires and werewolves. The sun that had set made the quiet campus hallways dark. Some classes still look bright and there are still classes that are still running. A uniformed police officer ran after a young boy who looked like a student on the campus but a terrifying sight could be seen from him, his mouth and hands covered in fresh blood. A cop in his police uniform covered in denim jacket, his black hair looks messy, his face looks tired and annoyed. He ran after the vampire to enter a campus. Eden looked around and realized that the campus was deserted, no one could be seen passing by. Eden has been very tired of chasing the new vampire ever since and wants to catch him immediately. Seeing the quiet atmosphere without thinking, Eden changed form and a large wolf appeared and ran quickly to pounce on the vampire. The vampire tried to fight back but Eden who immediately turned into a human again immediately used his handcuffs to lock the vampire's hand. "Ah, you make me very tired," said Eden, who pulled the vampire away from the campus hallway. Eden took his cell phone and called his coworker, "Oi, I've caught him. Hurry to C University!". When Eden had left by pulling the vampire, from one of the classrooms on the third floor, someone stared at Eden from behind the window until Eden was no longer visible. "Professor?", called a student who saw his lecturer pensively staring out the window. The Lecturer turned and smiled at the students and resumed his class. _ "Chief", Eden, who entered with the vampire he had just arrested and one of his subordinates, was immediately greeted by the workers at the Special Investigation Unit's office with a tone that seemed very grateful that he was back at the office now. Seeing his subordinates who looked like that, Eden immediately felt that something was not good about him, "What's wrong?". A woman with a pale face came forward and said quietly, "Chief, the Investigator from the Ministry of Defense came and has been waiting since 20 minutes ago". Hearing that, Eden immediately threw the vampire he caught at the woman in front of him, "Jia, take her to the interrogation room. Investigators must not wait too long". Eden immediately entered his room and met the Investigator who had been waiting for him to return. Eden opened his door and looked into his room. In the room, a man with black hair and tall stature was standing beside Eden's desk and facing the window in front of him. Eden could only see the back of the person but the smile on Eden's face immediately disappeared. "You're back?", said the Investigator who had not yet turned around coldly. Eden just sighed and closed the door then he walked over to sit on the sofa, Eden sat so hard that his voice was heard outside the room and made people outside stare into Eden's room. "What's wrong?" asked Eden coldly. The investigator turned and looked at Eden who was sitting on the sofa, his face was very similar to Eden's except that he looked more mature and his aura was very cold. "I came to give you a mission", said Ethan who placed a large envelope in front of Eden. Eden took the large envelope from the table and said coldly, "You can just say it over the phone, why do you have to come in person?". Ethan just looked at his little brother and said in a softer but still cold voice, "Because I have business around here". Eden looked at his older brother for a moment and immediately read the contents of the envelope. Eden was very surprised when he read it, "What is this? How could I not know?". Ethan, who had been standing all this time, said, "C University doesn't want this to cause a ruckus especially when it's dealing with vampires. Unlike werewolves who don't need humans to be consumed, vampires need human blood to keep them alive. Your mission this time is to catch vampires who hanging around C University, most likely the vampire is pretending to be a student there or maybe a lecturer or staff". "I know, what about the Elder of vampires? Do they already know?", asked Eden, who was still staring at the contents of the envelope. "They just say they don't know", said Ethan walking towards the door. "s**t, they're always like that", Eden said annoyed. "Just do your job, I'll go first," said Ethan who immediately came out without further ado. After Ethan left, Eden immediately called the deputy head of the Special Investigation Unit loudly from inside his study, "Ryan!!". "Oi, what's wrong?", replied Ryan who came quickly. "Prepare an investigation letter to University C and quickly send Jia and Chloe there", Eden ordered Ryan in his boss style. "Hish, now?", Ryan answered innocently. "Next year!!!", Eden screamed angrily. "Okay, next year," Ryan replied casually. "s**t!! Go away now!!", Eden screamed in annoyance and threw the sofa cushion at Ryan who was standing near the door. "Yeah, Jia, Chloe!!! hurry up!", Ryan screamed as he came out. Eden who was still sitting on the sofa pensive for a moment, until Jia peeking from the door called out to him, "Chief! Chief!!". "Hmm, what's going on? I told you to investigate University C, go quickly!", Eden said lazily. Jia replied slightly annoyed, "What are you going to do with the Vampire?". Eden just remembered the vampire he had caught earlier. Eden immediately stood up and walked out, Jia followed him but was stopped by Eden, "Why are you following me? Your job is not here". "Hish, I'm leaving!!", said Jia who turned annoyed. Eden only watched Jia leave for a while and immediately turned to the interrogation room while calling his other subordinates, "Mark, come with me to the interrogation room!!". Mark, who was preparing to go home, was immediately shocked and sullenly walked after Eden to the interrogation room, "You crazy boss, you don't know the time. I'd better find a new job." "I heard it~", said Eden who was already walking ahead towards the interrogation room. Mark immediately fell silent and followed Eden silently. _ Arriving at the interrogation room, the vampire who had been captured was sitting on a chair with his hands and feet tied. Canada, September 29, 2000. Staying in the dormitory of C University". Eden looked surprised and immediately got up from his seat and checked Zee's neck. On Zee's neck there is a vampire bite mark that looks new, maybe 2-3 days ago. Eden let go of Zee's head which he was holding and sat back down, "How did you become a vampire?". Zee looked shocked and looked at Eden in disbelief, "You know about vampires? Did I really become a vampire?". Eden realized that this young man in front of him was indeed an ordinary young man who had just become a vampire. Eden replied casually, "If you weren't a vampire, you wouldn't be here. Just tell me why you became like this!". "No way, no way.. huhu.. no way, I'm human", Zee said in disbelief and started crying uncontrollably. Seeing Zee who was crying uncontrollably, Eden said more softly and seriously, "Listen, you tell us what happened to you and I will help you". "Really? Eden opened the letter and read it quickly after that he tidied it up again, "Good, now you call old man Tian to come back and tell him there is a new vampire for him to take care of. After old man Tian comes back, you and Mark can go home". "Oh yeay, okay," replied Ryan who immediately took his cell phone and called Tian. "I'm leaving", said Eden who patted Ryan's shoulder and just walked away. _ "Sis, this blood stain", said Chloe who saw the grass that looked like there was blood on it. Jia came closer and looked at him carefully, "This is not human blood, around here there should be animal carcasses". Chloe and Jia circled the C University area and after looking around, Jia finally felt the smell of blood again but this time it wasn't the blood that had been 1-2 days ago but fresh blood that was really just dripping from the human veins. Jia signaled Chloe and moved towards the origin of the blood scent. Chloe held her gun tightly and prepared to use it when needed. The two of them were about to peek from behind the wall to see who was in the room at the far end which was dark and filled with the smell of blood but suddenly someone quickly hit both of them on the head until they were both unconscious. _ Eden walked into the campus looking for the whereabouts of Jia and Chloe, after walking around the campus for quite a while, Eden had not yet found the whereabouts of Jia and Chloe. Eden called both of them but there was no answer at all. Eden began to feel suspicious and worried, he immediately contacted the office and Mark answered the call from Eden. "Hello, the Special Investigations Unit is here," said Mark in his business voice. "It's me, where is the deputy chief now?" asked Eden quickly cutting off Mark's business greeting. "Ah, Chief!? The deputy chief came home a few minutes ago. What's wrong, Chief?", Mark answered Eden innocently. "Old man Tian is already in the office?" asked Eden, who looked nervous and felt something suspicious around him. "Yes, Senior is now with Zee", replied Mark. "Call him, quick", Eden spoke quickly and started walking while making the call. "Okay, hold on a second", Mark who felt something happened quickly ran with a phone while calling Tian who was in the investigation room with Zee. Eden, who heard a noise from behind the phone, immediately took the cell phone away from his ear until Tian's voice was heard from behind the phone, "Hello, Eden". "Old man, quickly look at Jia and Chloe's whereabouts!! I was supposed to meet the two of them at C University but I couldn't find them and their cell phones were off too", Eden said quickly. Tian responded quickly, "Wait". Tian quickly moved to open the tracking app from his nearby computer and look for the whereabouts of Jia and Chloe. Each member of the Special Investigation Unit has a tracking device on their body so that if there is an urgent situation then members in the office can find the whereabouts of other members and send assistance to the location. "They are still at C University," said Tian who was staring at the computer screen in front of him. "What? I've been circling but couldn't find them, I also can't smell them..", Eden who was still smelling the scent around him immediately stopped talking and stayed where he was. Tian felt strange because Eden suddenly stopped talking, "What's wrong? I'll be there soon". Tian immediately used the communication device in his ear and patted Mark's shoulder, "Listen, call Ryan now and watch the movement of Jia, Chloe and Eden. Tell me their location". After speaking quickly Tian disappeared from the office. Mark looked still confused but tried to calm down. He was the only one in the office so he couldn't help but have to be able to move on his own otherwise he could endanger the others. Mark immediately called Ryan to return to the office and monitor the movements of Jia, Chloe and Eden as Tian said. The smell of blood covered by other scents mixed with each other and the smell of the same perfume that Jia used was quite obvious. Eden always remembers the smell of Jia's perfume because Jia often uses perfume that smells like a mixture of lavender and orange which makes Eden want to sneeze when he is near her. Not only smells can be smelled, but Eden feels the presence of someone behind him and also someone else behind the wall of the room in front of him. Eden was already prepared to fight several people at once but when he turned around and was about to attack the person behind him, he had to immediately stop his fist right in front of the face of a handsome but also beautiful man. The man was neatly dressed in a suit and outer that made him look classy and elegant, plus glasses that adorned his dazzling face made him look smart. The man looked surprised by the clenched fist in front of him and his eyes which had long and curly eyelashes blinked several times which made his face look so innocent and sweet. Eden saw it and within seconds, Eden was fascinated by the man in front of him. Eden lowered his hand and took three steps back from the man. The man in front of him also looked surprised but seemed to be trying to look normal. In his hands were several books and documents, one of which was written "Biology Of Mankind" which made Eden immediately realize that the man in front of him was a lecturer or maybe a student at C University. Eden immediately became formal with him. "Hello", Eden said a little awkwardly. "Hello. Mister is a policeman?", asked the man with a sweet smile on his lips. Eden immediately looked at his clothes and smiled politely, "Ah. Introduce me Eden Abelardo, a police and you?". "I'm Aaron Ezekiel, a lecturer in the Biology Department here," answered Aaron, shaking Eden's hand whose was about to punch him earlier. _ To Be Continued
