When It Snows

Chapter 2

The man was neatly dressed in a suit and outer that made him look classy and elegant, plus glasses that adorned his dazzling face made him look smart. The man looked surprised by the clenched fist in front of him and his eyes which had long and curly eyelashes blinked several times which made his face look so innocent and sweet. Eden saw it and within seconds, Eden was fascinated by the man in front of him.

Eden lowered his hand and took three steps back from the man. The man in front of him also looked surprised but seemed to be trying to look normal. In his hands were several books and documents, one of which was written "Biology Of Mankind" which made Eden immediately realize that the man in front of him was a lecturer or maybe a student at C University. Eden immediately became formal with him.

"Hello", Eden said a little awkwardly.

"Hello. Are you a policeman, sir?", asked the man with a sweet smile on his lips.

Eden immediately looked at his clothes and smiled politely, "Ah. Introduce myself, I am Eden Abelardo, a police and you?".

"I'm Aaron Ezekiel, a lecturer in the Biology Department here," answered Aaron, shaking Eden's hand whose was about to punch him earlier.

"So, you are a professor? I didn't expect you to look so young," said Eden, who looked at Aaron's face, which looked very white and tended to be pale.

Eden walked next to Aaron looking around, which was dark and only the dim light lit their path in the campus hallway.

Aaron turned to Eden and a smile appeared on his lips, replying "I'm not as young as you think, Sir Eden".

Eden chuckled and said "Just call me 'Eden', Professor Ezekiel".

"In that case, you can also just call me 'Aaron'", said Aaron, replying to Eden.

"Okay, Aaron," Eden said casually.

"Em, does Eden come here at night like this for some work?" asked Aaron who stopped at the end of the hall with a window overlooking the garden.

Eden also stopped and leaned against the window, "Yes. Does Aaron feel that there are strange and suspicious events here for a while now?".

Aaron looked thoughtful then looked at Eden and said, "I don't know if this is a strange occurrence but some of my students didn't come to class for a few days even a few weeks ago, after that some of them came to class again with pretty far-fetched reasons. And there are some students who disappeared and was found to have died in a fairly short time. I'm not sure if it was an accident or if something was going on."

"How does the campus respond to that?" asked Eden.

"The Chancellor always told us that there was nothing strange and everything was handled by the police so we don't have to worry," said Eden, who put his hand on the open window.

Eden seemed to be fascinated by Aaron's demeanor which kept him glued to his every move. Eden glanced at the white hand that looked very smooth and there seemed to be a temptation for him to touch it and feel the smoothness of Aaron's skin.

Eden pretended to cough to cover up the awkwardness he felt and said, "Cough cough, Erm we have also received the report and have taken over the investigation of the case. So, Aaron you need not to worry, we will take care of everything".

Aaron smiled and agreed, "Sure, Eden looks very trustworthy so I will trust Eden".

Eden walked around the campus and returned to the starting place where he felt the presence of Jia and Chloe. He looked around and saw a room that looked like it hadn't been used for a long time but the dust on the doorknob didn't look as thick as the rest and looked like a doorknob that was touched frequently.

Eden was getting closer to the room. The smell of blood made him feel even more certain that there was something in the room and maybe Jia and Chloe were in there too.

"Eden", a voice from behind Eden suddenly came, surprising Eden and immediately looked back.

"Old man! You surprised me," said Eden quietly.

"Jia and Chloe are still here, I can smell Chloe's blood," said Tian who was approaching the room Eden was heading to.

"I also smelled Jia's perfume," said Eden, following Tian approaching the room.

In a dark and silent room, Jia opened her eyes and saw only darkness. Jia smelled a very thick scent of blood, the scent of Chloe's blood which was very sweet and seductive. Jia was immediately stunned and realized, looking around for Chloe's whereabouts.

"Chloe?!", Jia's voice slowly called Chloe.

Chloe lay weakly beside her with blood pouring from her head and wrists. Chloe was unconscious and didn't realize what was happening, didn't realize that her life was in danger.

Jia used all her senses to look around her and only got images of the smell of blood from several different people and the slurping sound of someone clearly sucking human blood from their body. Jia is very familiar with sounds like that, the voices of vampires who are going crazy and sucking the blood of their victims without control and it is certain that their victims will die instantly from blood loss.

Jia tried to move her body and realized that her body was not bound by anything but her body felt weak and difficult to move, her head felt very heavy and dizzy. Jia felt that the blood in her body had started to run out so her body became weak.

Chloe started to wake up with a very heavy head and a deep pain from the wrist, "Eugh.. ".

Jia immediately turned to Chloe's voice, "Chloe?".

But not only Jia who heard Chloe's voice but also the vampire who was in the room. A low but very cold voice, "That human is awake".

"Grr", the voice of another vampire who just sucked someone's blood.

Jia becomes very worried when she realizes that there are two vampires, one vampire who looks very strong and one that is thirsty for blood. Jia herself had to fight her instincts to move and suck the blood of the humans around her which was none other than Chloe who was lying limp beside her. Jia tried to stand up and block Chloe from other vampires but the speed of the vampire who had just sucked blood was far too fast compared to Jia who had run out of blood.

"Chloe!!", screamed Jia who lost Chloe who had held her hand earlier.

"Vampire?", a male cold voice sounded right in Jia's ear.

Jia felt goosebumps and felt a strong pressure from the vampire as if Jia was meeting an elder vampire or pure vampire even Tian who was a pure vampire had never issued a pressure that made Jia very scared like this. Jia tried to move her body but the vampire was very fast and immediately hit Jia's neck until Jia was no longer conscious.

Eden broke down the door of the room and the dark room immediately greeted him. The only light from the lamp outside the room was that the lighting in the dim room made him unprepared and the thick smell of blood made Eden even more shocked. Tian immediately noticed the existence of another vampire and kept him from leaving the room.

Eden immediately moved and paralyzed the vampire who was hugging Chloe and seemed to be sucking her blood.

Tian chased after a pure vampire who quickly left the place. Seeing Tian who seemed to be having a hard time catching the vampire, Eden immediately called the office and called for medical assistance for Chloe and Jia who were unconscious. After telling the location and giving first aid to Chloe, Eden immediately helped Tian.
