When It Snows

Chapter 3

Tian chased after a pure vampire who quickly left the place. Seeing Tian who seemed to be having a hard time catching the vampire, Eden immediately called the office and called for medical assistance for Chloe and Jia who were unconscious. After telling the location and giving first aid to Chloe, Eden immediately helped Tian.

Eden yawned because he had not slept all night until the day had turned into morning. Eden came out of Chloe's treatment room after checking Chloe's condition, who had undergone surgery and was critical, fortunately after morning came, Chloe's condition improved and is stable.

"Chief", Jia who was sitting outside the infirmary immediately stood up and called out to Eden when she saw he come out of Chloe's treatment room.

"Oh, Jia. Why are you still here?" asked Eden, who had previously told Jia to go home and rest after Jia regained consciousness.

"Chief, I'm sorry because I'm weak, Chloe is become like this. I can't take care of Chloe," said Jia who seemed to be crying.

Eden looked at Jia for a while then said, "Tian and I are failed to catch the vampire, what about you and Chloe, who usually just sit in the office?".

Eden patted Jia's shoulder and said again quietly, "Go home and rest, you can take a day off today if you don't feel that well".

"Hm", Jia nodded but didn't say anything.

Eden just sighed and said, "I'm tired too, so I'll go home first".

After speaking like that, Eden immediately turned around and walked away leaving Jia who was still silent on the spot.

Eden was about to head to the exit that led to the parking lot but he saw someone he seemed to know, someone who was very interested in him. Eden turned around again and walked towards the person. The person walked towards the elevator slowly and slightly staggered. Seeing this, Eden immediately moved quickly and caught the person.

Aaron was very surprised when suddenly someone grabbed his waist and held him so he would rebel but when he turned around it turned out that the impudent person was Eden with a smile visible on his lips. Aaron immediately blinked his eyes in disbelief and said, “Eden?”.

"Ah, Aaron. What are you doing here?", said Eden who didn't take his hand off Aaron's waist and instead brought his body closer to Aaron.

"Ehm.. Eden, you are too close", Aaron said awkwardly and tried to move away from Eden.

Eden immediately removed his hand from Aaron's waist and with an awkward laugh said, "Haha, sorry. You looked like you were going to fall earlier".

“Ah, mm”, Aaron felt awkward and just looked down.

"Is Aaron sick? Your face looks pale", Eden said trying to make a conversation.

"Hm, just feeling a little dizzy", said Aaron who still felt awkward but a slight smile appeared on his face.

Eden brought his forehead to Aaron's forehead to check Aaron's body temperature which wasn't really needed but Eden really just wanted to find a chance to touch and be close to Aaron so he took advantage of everything and acted shamelessly.

Eden looked at Aaron very closely and said, "Oh, your fever is quite high".

Aaron was shocked and immediately moved backwards so that he almost fell but Eden immediately grabbed Aaron's hand, saying "Be careful, it looks like your body is out of balance. Let me take you home".

"No need, I can just take a taxi", said Aaron who still felt awkward and felt bad.

"It's okay, I'm also going home so I can take you home as well. You're like this anyway, it would be better if I took you home instead of you going home alone by taxi", said Eden who was clearly very happy and immediately grabbed Aaron's hand to walk with him towards the parking lot.

Aaron who saw Eden like that could only give up and follow Eden to the parking lot. Aaron could only allow himself to be escorted home by Eden because there was no place for him to refuse Eden's invitation anymore.

"Eden, you can just take me here," said Aaron who was looking out the car window.

"Oh, okay. Where do you live, Aaron?" asked Eden, who parked his car in the parking lot on the side of the road.

"I live in the apartment there," said Aaron, pointing to an apartment that was visible from the main road but still had to go back through several smaller streets.

Aaron got out of the car and said goodbye to Eden, "Thanks for the ride, next time I will invite you to stop by and have tea at my apartment".

Eden smiled and handed his business card through the car window, saying "Hm, okay. I'll wait for your invitation, Aaron. Get well soon and see you again".

Aaron accepted Eden's business card and nodded before turning to walk back to his apartment. Eden just looked at Aaron who left with a smile then went back to running his car. When Eden had left, Aaron turned to look at Eden's car which was getting further away then Aaron turned again and looked at Eden's business card.

Eden arrived at his apartment which looked very simple, only a room where there was a king size bed which had a white bed cover that looked the same as the colour of the walls of the room and there was a very clean small kitchen without any plates or glasses scattered about, it looked more like a room or an apartment that has never been occupied.

Eden put his bag on the floor, then he opened the white cupboard that was attached to the wall and took a change of clothes. Eden went straight to the bathroom to take a shower. After taking a shower, Eden just took water from the refrigerator and drank it and then lay down on the bed.

Eden was just about to fall asleep but his cell phone kept ringing which made him inevitably have to wake up. Eden only saw who was calling him before turning off the call and sending a message. Eden immediately changed clothes and went to the office.

Arriving at the office, Eden went straight into the interrogation room and saw the vampire he had caught last night facing Tian in a state that looked insane. The blood red look that was very typical for a vampire and sharp fangs visible in his mouth, Tian shook his head when Eden looked at him as if asking a question. Eden immediately understood that the vampire in front of him couldn't be interrogated at this time, Eden just sighed and turned out of the interrogation room.

Eden came into his room and lay down on the sofa then started to close his eyes. Before long, Tian entered and sat on the chair in front of him. Said, "I don't know if there's a pure vampire in this town other than the ones listed, it's obvious that he's a pure vampire and can control the vampire he created. The vampire inside just now can't even remember himself and is just blood-crazed".

Eden, who kept his eyes closed, answered, "But yesterday's brat could remember himself well, he just became thirsty for blood".

Tian took a pack of cigarettes and ate the red medicine that was inside the pack of cigarettes. Said, "The kid yesterday was bitten by a normal vampire and lucky him that he's still alive but unlucky that he drank vampire blood when he was about to die, because the vampire who bit him couldn't form a link with the human he bitten so the kid wasn't affected by the control of the vampire parent.

"Slightly similar to Jia", continued Tian who looked at Eden.

Eden got up and sat by leaning his body on the sofa, "Aren't you Jia's vampire parent?".

"Huh? Have you thought all this time that I was the one who bit Jia and turned her into a vampire?" Tian said, feeling a little disbelieving at Eden's question.

"Not you, old man?" Eden said turning to Tian.

"If I bit Jia, do you think we can interact this normally?" said Tian who leaned back against the sofa.

"Jia hates vampires quite a bit, she was young when she was bitten by a vampire. I think at that time, Jia was still in high school," said Tian, ​​remembering when he met Jia.

"Then if not you, how did you two meet?" said Eden curiously.

"Because Uncle Tian helped me," said Jia who suddenly entered the chief's room.

"Chief, if you're curious, why don't you just ask me directly," said Jia who handed the document to Eden.

"Oh, then how about you tell me now?", said Eden, who opened the document that Jia gave casually.

"Hm, you can say that I am Jia's father", said Tian who told Jia to sit down.

"Long story short, I was still in high school at that time and I was quite naughty at the time. I was caught pregnant and my parents kicked me out of the house. When I was kicked out, I planned to ask my boyfriend to take responsibility but he actually sold me to a vampire and I was almost died and turned into a bloodthirsty crazy vampire," said Jia who then looked at Tian.

"Because he was bitten by several vampires and some were pure vampires, Jia's senses fell apart and she was already dying but also about to turn into a vampire but the transformation into a vampire that Jia experienced was happening slowly because she didn't drink only the blood of one vampire but several vampires and the pure vampire who bit him didn't want Jia to turn into a vampire too. In short, at that time, I found Jia and made her drink my blood so that she can turn into a full vampire with normal common sense but because of too much blood of other vampires she drank too so I can't form a link with Jia", explained Tian.

"Ah, have you taken revenge with all of them, especially your boyfriend? If not, I will look for him and help you get revenge," said Eden, who felt a little guilty because it seemed like opening an old wound in Jia.

"My parents, they died a few days after kicking me out. They died in an accident, their car slipped in the snow while they were looking for me. The vampires, already died at the hands of Uncle Tian while my ex-boyfriend has become a dry mummy without blood," said Jia who looks sad, sorry and relieved.

"It's all in the past, now we just have to look forward", said Tian who patted Jia's shoulder.

"Hm, I have a younger brother and child to take care of so I know that I have to live well", said Jia smiling.

"You are a strong woman, Jia", said Eden who gave back the documents he had checked and signed.

Jia accepts the document and nods. Eden looked at Jia for a while and said, "Next time maybe I should come to your house and play with your children and sister".

Jia just nodded and stood up from her seat, "Hm, if my sister has left for the dormitory then I will let you play at my house and play with my son but if my sister is at home then I will not allow you to come, Chief".

Eden, who was sitting at his desk with Zee in front of him, sat tensely, waiting for the envoy from the vampire to come to take the crazy vampire and give an explanation of what happened at C University.

They did not wait long, Ryan informed that the vampire messenger had arrived. Eden immediately got ready to receive the envoy. Dressed in all black, the messenger came with a book that looked very thick.

"Chief", called the envoy coldly.

Seeing his cold expression and way of speaking, Zee felt goosebumps and scared but Eden looked normal and instead smiled with a business smile greeting the envoy, "Mr Kenzo, I haven't seen you for a long time".

Kenzo immediately put the thick book on Eden's desk and said, "This is what you asked for, the elder only gave you 2 hours to open this book. So hurry up and find what you need, I'll be waiting here".

"Oh, okay", said Eden who immediately took the thick book and opened it one by one for each page quickly.

Eden saw lots of photos of vampires in this city and looked for someone similar to the one Eden met at C University but as Tian said that he didn't know if there were other pure vampires in this city without being in the notebook and document.

Kenzo just sat on the sofa and looked at Eden who was still opening the book then he looked at Zee who was sitting in front of Eden with a pale and tense face.

Kenzo asked coldly after he finished observing Zee, "Who is this kid? Like a vampire but also not".

Eden immediately glanced at Kenzo and replied with a smile, "New employee, my new assistant".

"Tian made it?", asked Kenzo who stood up from his seat and approached Zee who started sweating in fear.

Eden glanced at Kenzo who looked displeased with Zee and seemed to be killing him with just a look in his eyes. Eden immediately closed the thick book he was reading then stood up from his seat and thrust the thick book in front of Kenzo which made Kenzo stop in his tracks.

Kenzo took the book and turned his face away from Zee. Eden saw it and said, "This is Zee, he is a victim of a crazy vampire at C University. I will send Zee's file, please record Zee as a vampire under my control".

Kenzo looked at Zee coldly then just nodded. Eden continued, "I have caught the crazy vampire, old man Tian is guarding him. You can take him in the interrogation room".

Kenzo just immediately turned to leave but Eden spoke again with a more firm tone but a smile was still visible on his lips even though his eyes didn't look smiling at all, "I hope you don't cover up the vampires who commit crimes. I know that the book only lists a normal vampires, not with pure vampires and elders. I won't ask for the data of the elders but I will wait until tomorrow for the data of the pure vampires".

Kenzo just looked at him for a moment and just walked away. Eden looked at Kenzo's back coldly and the smile from his lips disappeared.

Zee, who had been staring at Eden for a long time, felt a little scared by the change in Eden's expression and gulped, realizing that he couldn't be careless in front of this person.

"From now on you will work here, because you are a new vampire you can learn from Jia and old man Tian", said Eden who sat back in his chair.

Zee nodded and agreed, then Eden looked at Zee and said, "Old man Tian is like a father to the vampires here and all the vampires here live with him so later you can come with him home and get acquainted with his other children besides Jia".

Eden walked into a luxurious house with trees on the sides, the guard who saw him saluted Eden. Eden went straight to his room on the second floor and immediately lay down on the bed.

"I haven't been here in a long time," Eden muttered, looking around his room.

A knock on the door sounded, "Young Master, dinner is ready. Master is waiting at the dining table".

“Hah”, Eden sighed and walked out of his room.

"Come on, young master," said the middle-aged woman who directed Eden.

Ethan sat in the main seat and drank his red wine. Seeing Eden's arrival, Ethan just glanced at him and told Eden to sit down. Eden sat down and saw the very full food on the big dining table made Eden smile bitterly.

"Young Master, happy 30th birthday. May young master always be blessed," said the middle-aged woman who came to Eden's room earlier who poured red wine into Eden's glass.

"Thank you, auntie," replied Eden, who immediately drank the red wine in his glass.

"Tomorrow morning before sunrise, we will leave so you don't wake up late," said Ethan who started cutting the meat on his plate.

"Hm", Eden just confirmed it.

Tomorrow is the day their mother died and also Eden's birthday. Their mother died while giving birth to Eden, therefore when they was young, Ethan really hated Eden even though as he grew older Ethan began to understand but because since childhood he was used to blaming Eden, their relationship became awkward and stiff.

However, since their father died, it was Ethan who had cared for and raised Eden so that even though their relationship was awkward, the relationship between the two was not too bad and they still respected each other like normal brothers. Afterall, they only have each other since their parents died.
