When It Snows

Chapter 4

Tomorrow is the day their mother died and also Eden's birthday. Eden's mother died while giving birth to Eden, therefore when they was young, Ethan really hated Eden, even though as he grew older Ethan began to understand but because since childhood he was used to blaming Eden, their relationship became awkward and stiff.

However, since their father died, it was Ethan who had cared for and raised Eden so that even though their relationship was awkward, the relationship between the two was not too bad and they still respected each other like normal brothers.

Eden got out of the car, in the black suit he wore to visit his parents' graves. Ethan looked at Eden who immediately walked into the office without saying goodbye to him, Ethan just sighed and told the driver to leave.

Eden took off his black coat and loosened his black tie, entered the office and was surprised by the surprise from his subordinates. Balloons scatter with colorful ribbons, Jia holds birthday cake with lit candles.

"Happy birthday, Chief~~", shouted everyone in the room with happy cheers as Eden entered the office.

"Ah, Wow.. thank you", said Eden amazed.

"Blow out the candle, chief," said Jia, who was approaching.

"Don't forget to make a wish", said Ryan who put a birthday hat on Eden's head.

"Hah, OK, okay, what do you want for dinner after this? I'll treat you," said Eden, who pretended to make a wish by clenching his hands together and then blowing out the birthday candle with the number 30.

" Yeay, meat. I want to eat meat ", said Ryan excitedly.

"Hotpot~", said another.

"Okay, okay", Eden said laughing.

Eden was already feeling drunk but Ryan and the others still told him to drink again and again. Eden stood up from his seat and said, "I'm going out for a second for a smoke".

"Oh okay, don't be too long," said Ryan who was next to him.

Everyone was having a good time and after they finished eating they went to the bar together to have a crazy drink.

Eden came out and leaned against the wall of the bar, Eden lit his cigarette and looked down at the ground he was stepping on. Eden feels that even though today is his birthday, he has never felt truly happy and feels that he has happy memories of his birthday, all he feels is guilt and questions about why he had to live and be born if the person who should love him the most instead went and left him alone, he was always the cause of the departure of his loved ones.

From the dark hallway came a voice that made Eden turn his head, from where he was standing three men were seen cornering a man with a knife pointed at his neck. Eden was even more shocked when he realized that the man at the knife was Aaron. Eden immediately walked over to them to save Aaron because Eden thought that Aaron was just a weak lecturer who couldn't fight plus Eden was attracted to Aaron so he wanted to show his heroic side to Aaron.

Eden, who was actually a bit drunk, walked slowly into the hallway. In a deep and hoarse voice, Eden said "Hey, don't you know whose territory this is? How dare you cornering someone here."

The three men who cornered Aaron turned to look at Eden. One of them said fiercely, "Who are you? Don't interfere with our business, go before we beat you up!".

"Haha, I'm usually also very lazy to deal with delinquents like you guys but this time you guys have disturbed the wrong people", said Eden who was half drunk but continued to walk closer casually.

Aaron saw Eden's arrival and realized that Eden was drunk. Aaron was worried and said "I'll give you the money so there's no need to prolong it, he's drunk".

"Heh, Aaron. Don't worry even though I'm drunk, they're not my opponent," Eden said casually which made the three men angry and attacked him.

Eden quickly crippled them then Eden said to Aaron proudly, "I told you, they are not my opponent. Hehe".

Aaron smiled and approached Eden. Eden took his cell phone and took a picture of the three men with his cell phone. Eden said while kicking one of the men lying in pain nearby, "Come on, say cheese~ the police will take you later".

One of the other men immediately tried to stand up and run away ignoring his friend who was in pain. Eden just smiled mischievously, "Even if you run away from here, the police will easily find you. So it's better to stay here and wait for the police to come".

Aaron stood in front of Eden and said, "Thank you for helping me, Eden".

Eden looked at Aaron and said "No big deal. Aaron what are you doing here?".

Aaron tidied up his slightly messy clothes and replied quietly, "Hm, my co-worker invited me to have dinner together".

"Oh, female co-worker?" asked Eden, looking at Aaron's collar which was still not neat.

"Male co-worker, he's getting married and taking me and other co-workers to dinner and drinks to celebrate," said Aaron who looked at Eden who suddenly smiled and smoothed his shirt collar.

"You drink alcohol?", asked Eden who removed his hand from Aaron's collar.

"A little", said Aaron who smiled at Eden's behavior.

"Want to have a drink with me? Today is my birthday, let's drink together to celebrate it. I'll treat you drink", Eden said with a smile on his face.

Aaron felt Eden's smile was different like before and a look of sadness or maybe loneliness in his eyes. Aaron felt that he couldn't refuse Eden's invitation and finally agreed, "Okay, come on. But I don't know the bar here, you choose".

"Of course, I will choose the best bar here", Eden said excitedly.

Aaron and Eden walk together. Aaron turned to look at Eden and said, "Since it's your birthday and I didn't bring a present for you, let me treat you".

Eden turned to Aaron and made them both look at each other, "Haha, okay".

Aaron was stunned to see Eden laughing and smiling like that but he still wanted to make Eden laugh more than this and smile more than this. Aaron lowered his head which made Eden a little confused then Aaron said quietly, "Happy birthday, Eden".

Eden heard that and for some reason he felt when Aaron said happy birthday for him was different and made he feel that today was truly a happy day and should be celebrated. Eden blushed and said with a bit of a stutter, "Thank you".

"Wow, Eden, you haven't been here in a long time. I thought you had forgotten about this place," said a beautiful woman in her bright red dress.

"Haha, madam Hwang. There's no way I'd forget this place, it's just that I've been busy lately," said Eden sitting at the bar counter.

Madam Hwang immediately approached and glanced at Aaron who followed Eden and sat next to Eden quietly. Madam Hwang asked Eden in a teasing tone, "Who is this? Is it your lover? I thought you only like women with big breasts".

Eden laughed awkwardly and introduced Aaron, "Haha this is Aaron Ezekiel, he's not my lover, not yet".

Aaron was stunned to hear Eden's words but did not have time to react. Madam Hwang reached out to shake his hand, "I am Irene Hwang, the owner of this bar. Nice to meet you Mr. Ezekiel, you look young. You are 19 years old, right?".

Aaron stood up from his seat and stretched out his hand to accept Madam Hwang's hand, "Nice to meet you, Madam Hwang. You can just call me Aaron. I'm not as young as you think, Madam Hwang".

"Aaron is a lecturer, madam", said Eden who grabbed Aaron's hand and told him to sit back down.

Madam Hwang chuckled at Eden's behavior and asked, "What do you want to drink?".

"I'm as usual," said Eden, who immediately made his choice.

"Yukon Jack? Aaron, then what do you want to drink?", said Madam Hwang who glanced at Aaron.

Aaron replied, "Raymond Massey."

"Okay, wait a minute," said Madam Hwang who immediately prepared drinks for Eden and Aaron.

While waiting for the drink to come, the phone rang. Eden takes his cell phone and sees that Jia is calling him.

"Hello, Ah. I'm going home first. You ask the boss to send the bill to the office tomorrow and I'll transfer the money," Eden said to the person behind the phone.

Aaron turned to look at Eden when he heard a female voice calling Eden and then asking, "Who?".

Eden immediately smiled and replied, "My subordinate, I forgot to pay for dinner before going here, hehe".

Aaron smiled and nodded his head. Eden smiled wider and said, "You are very sweet".

“Huh?”, Aaron was shocked and turned his head back to Eden.

"That's it, Jia. I'll turn it off," said Eden, who immediately turned off the call from Jia.
